I was only able to get the memory card method of Cheat Device to work, the USB method provided doesn't seem to load any codes from trying. I just have the two folders put on the root of the drive for context.
I have tried the USB method to my PS2 (SCPH-39000) and it works. basically the memory card and usb method are the same file but, the version of the memory card is lighter in size and can be copied in the Free McBoot Memory card. maybe in certain ps2 series the usb method doesn't work or there is a problem on the thumbdrive.
@@DennyGamer Yeah, its definitely either a USB problem or something else. Tried formatting and re-applied exactly as the photos show, still does not show any database via USB. Could be a storage size limit? This was on a 32GB drive I'm testing.

yes it also happened to me, I think the best way to add the cheat code is to add the code manually on a PC / Notebook / Smart Phone that supports OTG feature.

I don't have the boot.elf, CheatDevicePS2 loads the database, but I don't know how to boot games with it, if I try to put OPL as a boot1 and I select it, It opens, I start the game I want, but the cheats do not work. Am I supposed to use only boot.elf to start games ? then how can I get it ? anyone knows ? My games are installed on the internal hdd, I’m trying to use savegames from a normal memory card, and also from a virtual one, Maybe games installed on the hdd are not ok for this ? I am good with computers, but I’m a total newbie with ps2 modding.

Untuk Cheat Device mcboot...taruh folder cheatnya di luar folder memory card bro...tp cek dulu free space memory card kamu, kalau mau copy file cheatnya...soalnya ukuran file cheatnya itu 3mb.

Try changing the Boot mode in the cheat device to the OPL or HD Loader application on your PS2, for example mc1: APPS/OPL.ELF (because my OPL application is in the APPS folder and is named OPL.ELF)
@@DennyGamer yeah and that's the thing I brought a freemcboot card from amazon and the apps like opl etc is in the boot folder named something else other then opl.elf so should I just put all of the apps elf files in the app folders, would that ruin anything?
Do this first... Try to find the OPL application on your freemcboot memory card first and remember the name of the application, I'll help you write the Boot Mode later.

Your PS2 must be able to access Ulaunch first, then you can access the cheat device

You may try with Disc boot (see the last option in cheat device boot options) use discs to load the game

Just copy the Cheat Device v1.7.3 USB folder to USB thumbdrive and open it with uLaunch in PS2.
