    I am a value investor, searching for undervalued stocks. I look for securities with prices that are unjustifiably low based on intrinsic worth, estimated by analyzing an issuer's fundamentals.
    I do not support the efficient market hypothesis. This suggests that stocks always trade at their fair value, making it harder for investors to either buy stocks that are undervalued, or sell them at inflated prices. I believe the market will eventually favor quality stocks that were undervalued. I am not really concerned with the activities of the stock market, although I "watch" market activity all the time.

    Hello Rudi! This is Bulldog#1. I agree! ET is prime for good returns from their market mix this year so I'm holding ET long and reinvesting the dividend.

    I look at companies selling food, water and energy. All people need.

      It's easy if we invest in whatever people need and use every day, rather than what they want, or what's nice to have. Then the trick is just to eliminate the poorly run/managed companies, and try to pick the winners at a decent entry point. My best!

    Many thanks, Rudy, for your generous sharing of information and most sage opinion and analysis.
    I'm still long OXY myself and trading the options so the small dividend doesn't bother me much, as I've done pretty well (so far) with the Puts and Calls .
    Am also long and doing likewise with APA and HAL while trading options only on a couple of others. DVN in particular which you turned me onto. So my thanks again for that.

    Thanks for sharing. There's still some bargains to be found.
    COP, OXY, REPYY, PBR and EGY would be my top 5 with Repsol being the most attractive to me at the moment.

      Nice pics! Would you buy OXY at ~$64? As I explained, I'm comfortable holding it, but I think there are better buys just now, incl. some you mentioned here. My best!

    • @PulverizerA
      @PulverizerA 5 місяців тому +1

      COP and OXY aren't that undervalued when compared to the others. I'd buy Repsol, Valco and Petrobras in the current environment. Say I'm worried about the US going to more of a war footing, then I may want to have more of the large US based production that COP and OXY give, even if they're more expensive than other choices.
      Always appreciate your content. 👍

    Different from EQT, CHK, AR, etc, DVN is basically an oil E&P, NG is the side product. The primary reason it had a poor 2023 is because of its poor capital efficiency. DVN moved some capitals to its BAKKEN basin which they acquired in 2022. However, the capital efficiency was pretty poor in BAKKEN basin. The management recognized the mistakes during its Q3 23 earning call and moved majority of its capital back in its flagship Permian basin in Q4. During the Q4, capital efficiency improved. 2024 is going to be the same production with less than 10% capex. DVN will allocate 70% FCF in 2024 to shareholders, more on buyback given its unvalued share price comparing to its peers.

      I would be more inclined to do some homework on Devon DVN and Enbridge ENB. They're different though, with DVN arguably offering some share price upside once natural gas prices recover (who knows if/when?) in addition to the attractive dividend yield. ENB also owns a huge pipeline infrastructure and it is the utility company that provides Ontario (33% of Canada's population) with gas for cooking, heating & cooling. So it's more diversified, but probably less growth, just a nice dividend (or a high-interest savings account). Good luck!

      To me, EC and PBR are "the same". I view them both as high dividend-paying investments... and any stock appreciation is a bonus. I posted a video about a year ago comparing the two, and the comments from our channel members are awesome.

      All four of those are great stocks, albeit for different reasons. The general macro thesis is more related to my opening comments re. supply & demand. These companies supply products that we have to have, and use daily. Kinda like food. So, generally speaking, any well-managed, profitable player in a market with continuous, growing demand for their product(s), are relatively easy pickups from an investment point of view. My best!

    How much do you think the Baltimore port shut down will affect coal?

    • @BesterInvestor
      @BesterInvestor  5 місяців тому

      Matt, I imagine very little, if any. For example, China's largest supplier of coal is Indonesia, which is also the world's largest exporter of thermal coal. India imports coal from Indonesia, Australia, the US, Russia and Mozambique. The world is big, Baltimore is small :) Best regards!
