For all the people who will try this recipe and fail, you must bake it longer. Needs at least 90 minutes. In this video, their flan collapsed becuase it was still liquid in the middle. Bake for 90 minutes, or until the center juggles like jello but the sides don't.. then insert a sharp knife into the center. If it comes out clean it's done and you must refrigerate for 4 hours at minimum.

A blender isn’t necessary but it helps break down the sweet condensed milk a bit easier, but you can definitely use a whisk to mix everything up.
half a cup of sugar for the caramel is not nearly enough
