thanks for this video used it for my installation (plus links to caliraised own videos). i do want to add to this… I have some rattle (metal on metal sound) at first thought I was rubbing but heard it on idle. I pinpoint is the front skids connecting to transmission skid. Also the caliraised converter shields works perfectly, the driver side is a bit harder due to transmission case taking up more space, really have to have the truck up lifted more to be able to maneuver the converter shield. If you dont have a good floor jack.. I drove my truck over a sidewalk curb to get the height needed to get the shield in lol.
Bro same thing happened to me with transfer skid after I had tightened down the transmission skid …it was about 930 at night 😭 almost quit but got it done by myself
Any plans to get an exhaust reroute? I had mine done for about $200 and they were able to tuck it flat under the transfer case so now I've got a flat skid there and regained about 1.5" of clearance.
mine is same. i pinpoint its the front skid connecting to transmission skid. its the way the two are connected for reference 3:40 mark and 5:34 how both skids connect to each other. sorry late post to your comment haha but just had to see if you got a solution. mine is loud music.
Hey Kelly, came across this video after looking at skid plates for my Tacoma. How are they holding up since the install? Have you taken any big hits to the plates? Love the content, keep it comin!
Would those fit aftermarket lower control arms? My truck is still stock but I like watching your videos because it give me an idea of what I would like to build my truck with.
@@AdventureBuilt another question. Our is a manual transmission, and I heard it is a different fit for it. I tried at times to call the co but always ended in the voicemail and no call back... Not sure if I want to deal with this
Great Job . Question : what about Cross bars under the frame , not needed ? also spray under body twice a year its really great product ( CRC 06026 Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor )
This is the best install video I've seen on these. I'm about to install a set on my '23.
Thank you so much. Really appreciate it!!!

Love your channel, great content; I can’t believe you don’t have more subscribers. Thank you for all the great content!
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. Slow growth is still growth I guess. 😂😂

Finally! LOL Did you know Toyota officially refers to the stock "Skids" as "Splash Guards"?
Yea that sounds about right. Better than plastic, maybe.
Pro tip for anyone installing these that doesn't live in the desert, be sure to put a dab of anti-seize on all the hardware.
Good idea.

Hey awesome video man, just found yours and super awesome tacoma build so far
Awesome video!!! Thank you for sharing. Looks like it’s well designed and well built.
Thx!!!

Well that is a great idea I never heard of. Would be nice to gain that clearance. Did you push it driver or passenger side?
Do you notice a rattle with your skid plates? I tighten all the bolts and still hear it. I don't know what it could be.

They have held up great. No problems at all. I have a taken a few hits and solid as ever.
Hey Kelly, love the channel, would this full body skid plate also protect and help to prevent catalytic converter theft?
I was concerned about the same thing. It won’t. There is a big open space below the catalytic converter unfortunately.
Where was your brother, ….lol. You helped with his suspension and BMC😂
He lives in Tucson which is about 1.5 hours away. When we get together we usually work on his truck.
@@AdventureBuilt so you are near Westcott designs in Phoenix. I will be there next month to visit my daughter at ASU

That is a good question and I’m not sure. It would depend if the company used the factory bolt location holes. I doubt they would.
How these powder coated plates will withstand heavy salting of the North?
I have surface rust on mine but gonna take a while to eat through all that steel. Maybe I should have gone aluminum.

There are cross bars for the transfer case skid. I don’t really have to protect the under carriage. Desert is pretty dry.
@@AdventureBuilt i see , thanks for info
You’re definitely going to need those trying to follow Jeeps when out on the trail! 😉
Haha. I do what I can.
Just wondering why'd you remove your rdj fender flares? Been planning to get those.
I actually really liked the coverage and protection but couldn’t get over the bulbous look to them.
Looks great i got the rci aluminum engine skid plate and transmission skid plate big Mistake
Going back to steal
Oh damn. What is wrong with them.
What's your phone case? Looks rugged ❤️
