Yeah like why don’t they just spend all that time constructing enough war machines for all of them Not to mention if they had a kid even like once a century their populations would expand exponentially since they’re immortal lol
Well the vast majority of elven soldiers aside from the more elite ones are probably not much older then 70 to 100 that’s like 16 17 human years and they don’t just spend that time training for war the spearman are also just militia same with the light armor archers and the mages aren’t as powerful as the arch mages ether
they are not trained. The professional elven military is really small. They are i think the Swordmasters of Hoeth. The basic archer, spearmen are civilians and the Lothern Guard were militia. 99% of the elven army are civilians, 0,8% guards and milita and maybe 0,2% professionals. After the dark elves and chaos invaded Ulthuan the kingdoms had nearly no defenses and no army. So Caledor had the biggest army and was trained and united them in the fight. Yvresse had also some elite units and a standing army and all others (except some small elite contingents) were fighting with the Shadow prince Alith Anar in Nagarythe. And then came Tyrion back and helped to and cut of caledor from his leading role and nobody thanked them for rescuing Ulthuan. This is the military standing army of the elves... And this is also why Caledor and in special Imrik hate Tyrion for this. But in TW-Warhammer their are more balance issues to make them as they are. The dwarves have the same problem. During the battle of Eight Peaks the dwaves fought a way out troth armies of skaven and orcs and protect the families and they lost 17 men. Ok, the orcs and skaven were fighting eachother too... but... hey.. 17? In the Lore the elven also lost the war against the dwarves and with this nearly all their colonies in the old world. The dwarves crashed them and the elven count not conquer one greater karak of them. But unfortunately this total victory above the elfs were also their downfall. Because without the elven colonies in the world, they had to fight the goblins, skaven and orks alone and they were massive weaken through this war. And then their were huge earthquakes which destroyed many cities of them and killed huge amounts. In the Lore of the Videogame the biggest dwarven Kingdom.. Karaz a Karak had 6.750 soldiers at all. But in the game their units are as huge as all other factions in numbers. And they also lost nearly their fleet superiority against the humans. Only luck and weather saved them.

I love the warhammer depiction of the High Elves since in most verses they are usually seen as a form of council for the lesser elves due to how ancient and powerful they are but in warhammer they have entire armies composing of very ancient soldiers .
I love the way the bodies are displayed after all that chaos and carnage and death ... only silence and the chirping birds remain. Thats absolute poetry that scene
Well, that is what happens if you let Sisters of Avelorn fire all their ammo into high value targets! When I saw a Sisters unit charge into combat, I assume they had unleashed all their ammo. Beastmen did nothing to shut down the Elves back line allowing their archers to just rain death the entire battle.
I mean its not too far off from the middle and dark ages besides the monsters.. there were wars and battles with lined up men in armor... so not much diff
To be fair, this is about the way a Beastmen vs Asur fight would go. The Asur have the best trained fighters in the world. The beasts have numbers and horrific savagery, but as long as it's not truly overwhelming numbers they lose every time
I think in an actual fight they wouldn't have just charged their entire army, chariots included, straight into a wall of spears lol. I know they're only giant cows but i'm sure they know what flanking is.

Have these lords, Tyrion/Alarielle/Eltharion the Grim VS Malekith/Morathi/Malus Darkblade, with all of the best units and most monsters per side possible.
the high elves waiting to fire until the beast men are literally through their ranks actually annoyed tf out of me. I feel like you forced them to hold fire until then cause you knew the beast men didn’t stand a chance if the sisters got the chance to use their full range
The outcome of this cool battle surprised me. The High Elves, with so few large units, won over the Beastmen. It is also true that the commander of the latter was intelligent differently and did not destroy the riflemen and artillery. Cool battle and cool blue elven design. I'm still waiting for units in blue
Ikr. I was shocked when Ghorgons died out first because they are the second strongest unit in the game aside from Dread Saurian. Appearently those elven arrows are no joke unlike their Empire couter-parts.. Never paid attention to elves.. woah
Against elves, any elves, you shut down the archers or you lose. The Beastmen charged a perfectly formed Elvin line of battle. There was no way they could win. Just from the outset, the Chariots charged Spearmen, losing their charge bonus and attacking a unit with bonus vs large. They were all dead before the rest of the Beastmen line even got there. 3 T3 units wiped out before the battle even started against T1 spearmen. Those chariots had they flanked could have wiped out most of the archers, forcing them all into melee combat for the duration of the fight. But as it is they got to free fire. If you look at the kills at match end, I would bet you the majority of the archers are rocking 200+ kills each. For units like the sisters of Averlorn (ones with the glowing bows), that might even be pushing 400. Especially because most beastmen get no shields or at best poor shields and Elvin archers especially the higher tier ones get decent armour pen damage.
At first second it was clear that elves will win. Who leaves such a great mass units on spear infantry. Mass is for pushing into archer ranks. And what's the point to charge spears with chariots ?.. Animation nice, performance... beyond words.
Yes, the High Elves won. But at what cost? At this point every Elven life is precious, but Beastmen multiply like vermin and there are always plenty more where that came from.
While I don't know how high elves would ever face the Beastmen in battle as they're literally across the world from each other, this was some fight. Hey, do you think the archers were getting a little impatient as the enemy approached, saying stuff like "how come we're not shooting yet? They're getting closer."
The Asur do send expeditions all over the world, and they have colonies in almost every continent, even in Naggaroth there's Anrheim. Mayhap they came upon the Beastmen in a corner of the Old World during their travels.
Your most satisfying battle yet! All about the archers in this one. Elves had to endure the first charge, then missiles and cavalry took over. Also, did the beastman champion/general die twice at the end?!
This is usually how it goes for Beastmen. They’re very susceptible to ranged fire, and they usually just try to bulldoze the frontlines and let strong ranged armies shred their strongest big units.
The only thing I didn't like was the Beastmen would have never been in that orderly of a formation. They would have a "general" formation, but nothing that organized.
As someone who does not play the game i have questions. Are these armies equal point value? Did the elf use their bows and siege at max range? Did I see arrows sticking out of the backs of elf soldiers? What is the counter for units that have larger profiles then your standard humanoid? Looks like big monsters constantly just stagger and knock down mobs of infantry. Why does beast army wait so long to start using their bows? Not a question but, is the ancient elf wisdom to let your troops get massacred by monsters they have no hope of fighting before THEN using your dragon, Tree, and mage?
Visually beautiful. The way the elves fought seemed a bit wasteful in terms of lives (so much friendly fire!), but I guess the tactic of "ending the fight as quickly as possible" wouldn't have made as an interesting viewing!
I liked the intro and camera work, but battle stages could be more creative i think. Also beast could go on foot until archers would start shooting then start running. If i would do battle like this i would do it in 3 stages for more exitement. First - just front attack, 2nd - beast ambush with weak fast units from all the sides and 3rd is elves come back with horse riders and dragon come to protect that ambush. And RIP for Taurox, he died to fast imo.
