Holy shit , Konami actually made a new Castlevania , Its been decades , Not only its a great game but an excellent Remake , And the music is freaking iconic ,, Holy shit what a game
@@atomicskull6405 Grimoire of Souls was in-house, and as mentioned above, most of MGS Delta's development is being done in-house. This one's definitely M2-developed though.
M2's first game was Gauntlet VI on the Genesis and that started off as a training exercise. They didn't have any of the original code and just copied it by eye and playtesting and made a pixel perfect version. The story goes that Tengen/Atari somehow saw it and told them if they added more content they'd publish it. They also made Biohazard Battle / Crying on the Genesis and that was originally being developed as a Sharp X68000 game till Sega asked them to switch it over to the Genesis. Supposedly they still have a nearly complete X68000 beta version of it, a few videos leaked of it in the 2010's but they seem to have been lost to time.
Think about it, M2 did that twice, first with Castlevania Rebirth, the remake of the god awful first Gameboy entry in the series (the sequel though is god tier) and now they've remade the horribly shitty arcade game that couldn't even get the name right, so M2 has taken the shit and turned it into gold TWICE!
I actually screamed cause I wasn’t sure how much of the original OST they’d use. I mean shit I screamed during the reveal even, cause I wasn’t expecting an Adventure Rebirth-styled remake of Haunted Castle (Which I’ve always loved Adventure Rebirth) alongside all of the DS titles, so it was an immediate purchase when it dropped lol
In the same vein (pun not intended) as Castlevania Adventure Rebirth. Not nearly as overhauled in terms of additional content but still a welcomed reimagining!
I'm thinking that it's now _my_ favorite 'Bloody Tears' rendition too. And I'm including Castlevania: Judgement, Goat's remix, the Metalvania remix and Netflix's Castlevania series in that contest, too! 😮
This game was such a pleasant surprise. I always hated that Haunted Castle was the black sheep of the franchise, but this cute little remake has actually been treated as something really special. Thank you Konami! Please do more with this IP. (A Soulkslike? PLEASE?)
that game would need a absolute overhaul so it wouldn't play like everyones underwater and the only camera options are too close up to see everything or way too zoomed out to see anything.
absolutely, "cross your heart" was the only song worth salvaging from the original arcade game and aside from using Bloody Tears, it was largely an original soundtrack
haunted castle getting a fantastic remake was not on my bingo card, but my god was it good and my god does this version of bloody tears go crazy
IKR!! I wasn't even expecting it, It's a great bonus for a great collection

It was made by M2 not Konami, they're just the publisher. Konami doesn't even have any developer teams anymore.
@@atomicskull6405 That is not true, the MGS3 Remake is done in-house, among some other small games they have released in the past few years.

Rondo OST is still the peak, but we have a strong contender here!
*CLASSICVANIA IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS*
M2 took one of the worst entries in the entire Castlevania franchise and created the best game in years. A testament to their talent.

Bad take. Haunted Castle isn't a bad game at all; it was very much a fine product of its time.
@@theusher2893however the problem is the unfair difficulty made it a coin farm at arcades.

Admit it, the moment you all recognized this song while playing, you started humming it. ;)

Castlevania harmony of despair remake, plz, Komoney?

No matter what rendition of Bloody Tears I listen to...
...I'll never unhear BrenalFloss's lyrics along with it
did they remake the music for this collection?

Noticed that the extended intro is a little like what they did in the Netflix series.
