The restraint and reverence shown by this interviewer is very refreshing. He only interjects or asks further questions when needed and just let's Peter Fury get on with it and talk about his remarkable life story.
Honesty beyond belief - credit to Peter Fury - I always like listening to Peter, he is a very underated boxing coach also...In my opinion.

Why has UA-cam decided to only show me this now? Best podcast ive heard in a long time. Good to the point questions then lets it roll no interruptions and Peter being as honest as you can something rare and great from both perspectives especially in this podcast genre. 👏👏👏

It's good to see someone telling it as it is about prison. I worked for 15 years with young offenders and the only people that ever gave me any grief for the job I did were knob-heads and wannabes that had never even been to jail.
In the 15 years I got assaulted twice (nothing serious). One was a scouser who missed the other prisoner he was fighting with and smacked me on the side of the head, the other was a lad with serious mental health issues.
The moral of the story; it's difficult to hate or dislike someone who is trying to be as decent as they can be.
Great lockdown interview. Peter comes across as a hard but fair man. Also, credit to the interviewer. Let Peter talk not like some who keep interrupting.👍
Peters mischievous laugh gets me everytime. Carnt help but literally laughing along with him but at the same time u know he's not a man to be messed with. He's honest and to the point is Peter great listening actually

My old boss represented him. Said he was the toughest bloke he had ever met and a cracking guy! Its great what he has done in recent years and is a good role model these day.
Bet some of them MP's have got many skeletons in the closet that they'll never be honest about.
Forget Parliament. Its 'everyday people' who should hold values & integrity to make society better. In the grand scheme of things, how much does parliament really affect your day to day life. All the parties are pretty much the same, its how us as individuals & as communities & a society that matter.
Just listened to peters interview. It takes me back to the mid 90s, I was in full Sutton with him on F wing right next door to him, I had rab curuthers( RIP) in one cell then me then peter then a guy called joe kassar to name a few. All good guys.

Anyone remember when Peter said that it's odd that AJ is being pushed as a role model when he has a criminal record, then he said "I have similar charge to Joshua and I'm not claiming to be some role model" - AJ got caught with a couple of ounces of mdma 😅😅 very modest lol

What a great guy peter seems like i love this guy what a character.
Notice the difference between a working class man's honesty and a politician. With Peter it's "yes I did it" or "no I didn't do it." With politicians it's "I can't recall" or "I can't remember" - NEVER give an answer where they can be cornered.
Could have listened to another hour of that.

Exactly! For all the harm they did and bad deeds - and let's not water it down, they were serious criminals - Tyson and his brothers, never got on that path.

@@Nick-fy1zp if somebody has written his life story then that’d be a biography. To be an autobiography he’d have to have written it himself.
It's rare someone goes from being that level of a criminal, to someone who has so much respect in another area entirely out of merit. Respect to Peter, there's no one on boxing who's opinion is more trusted for me.
I’ve watched this and gained remarkable wisdom from He’s life story of being in a world and leaving that world and he did it for he’s family that’s a real man in my book!
There's got to be a mini series made about the furys from Peter and John's mum and dad to present day

Always liked and had great respect for Peter the way he carries himself and wish he and Tyson didn’t go their own ways coz in every interview years bk now watching every Tyson interview I always waited for peters words as well, coz they always had meaning and wisdom. Great interview. Respect.

He's had a very interesting life to say the least.The fact that he's willing to be this open is refreshing as most people wouldn't have the nerve to talk about this situation and everyone makes mistakes so I say live and let live.
Peter and Hughie are really good guys, absolute gentleman and I don’t have a bad word to say about them. I trained with them for a week or two about 15 years ago because they used to visit lots of different boxing gyms throughout England to get sparring for Hughie. I sparred hughie when he was about 14 and he was already the same size he is now. Tyson was there for a couple of days too before he was was a big name but I wasn’t at the gym those days.
Proper old school Peter is .. you can just tell he is a serious guy..
