Hi, I’m posting this on July 11 2019...after reading about floods and a major storm for New Orleans. Stay safe everyone. Thank you for beautiful music.
The absolutest cool of cool. Can I say that without getting lambasted for my incorrect use of the english language, please? Money no object this is where I would be and I would fill their tin many times over.
Thanks Randy ..'too good not to post' for sure. Thinking of them in France right now, even as storm Barry has just been named a hurricane. - Sat. 7/30, noon. And I am looking for videos of the recent gigs ....
Thank you for another great video. New Orleans is one of my favorite places. Does Tuba Skinny have a sort of schedule. We hope to see them on our next trip. Thanks again.
Your chances are good some time between early October to late May. If they are in town you can usually find them busking on Royal St. on Mondays and Fridays, depending on the weather. And they normally have a few regular weekly club gigs. You can check their website for those.
@@RaoulDuke504RC Thank you so much. We will be there in October so hopefully we can see them in the street. Saw them at the dmz a couple of years ago. I think I'd rather see them on a Royale street.
Many thanks, Randy. Glad to hear that they play the Verse (which many bands omit) as well as the Chorus. I'm reminded of that great video from nine years earlier when Shaye (on piano) and Barnabus played this with The Loose Marbles and - unusually - Barnabus provided the vocal: ua-cam.com/video/-UkfY4XTVhc/v-deo.html
@@davidbento9459 The Verse is at the start and is not played again. The Chorus (comprising 32 bars) is played for the first time at 0 mins. 35 secs. From 2 mins 30 secs to 2 mins 56 secs, Barnabus picks up the Chorus at the Middle Eight and leads for the final sixteen bars, before Todd takes over, leading the next-time-round of the Chorus for 16 bars, before the clarinets take over at the Middle Eight and play the remaining 16 bars. At 3 mins 51 secs, the final run-through of the Chorus begins, involving the whole band led by Shaye, though she gets Max to take the final Middle Eight (4 mins 21 to 4 mins 33) before the whole band rounds it off with the last 8 bars. I hope this helps.
Pops Coffee yes sir, wish my camera hadn’t malfunctioned in the beginning but stuff happens. Meanwhile we’re waiting for this Tropical Storm/Hurricane Barry to make land. The French Quarter actually flooded yesterday!
@@PopsCoffee Thanks man,, I play traps so don't break it down as well as you! Love this band. Played NOLA jass back in the 70, along Jersey shore and now moved to Hawaii since then, We used to have a really good Dixieland band here at the Hilton Hawaiian village, but all are retired or passed on now. I advertised to start a band like this on Craigslist here, and got all flakes! Guess I have outlived my time hehe!!! But I can always get my TS fix to lift my spirit! Founf them a couple years ago and been a fan ever since, even impulse buy after watching them I bought a washboard hehe.. Good to meet you!
@@davidbento9459 You too, David. You might be interested to have a look at my Blog. It contains over 600 articles. This one would be a good starter: playing-traditional-jazz.blogspot.com/2013/05/post-73-quick-introduction-to-tuba.html
Shay's gladness pours out with that sweet smile ... This one is a mold buster ... very sweet ... Mikie

Someday, sweetheart, I'll go back to New Orleans to see them in person again. Soon.

Native English speaker, and I understand you perfectly well. As a wretched monolingual, I salute you and your excellent musical taste.
The day the table was knocked over!

happy to say New Orleans wound up relatively unscathed by Barry,
@@RaoulDuke504RC Yes, Sunday am - so far so good.
And a good time was being had by all - well isn't that the raison d'être.
I feel groovy
Before or after the kids knocked the table over? (Thanks for posting!)

The verse was on the bone about 2;30 right? Always loved this song! Used to play it Jersey shore back in the day!

what was recorded on which date? thanks
Damn hat trick !
Many thanks. Lovely stuff. Do you have the names of the (non regular) band members please?
weeglensa I’d like to but they asked not to be identified on UA-cam.
excuse me I did not read the comment above ....
where is Erica?
Without Erika Lewis it’s not exactly the same …
I hope to see her perform with them too. To hear her in person, I bet the videos just don't do her justice.
