Why are they talking at the end like Clemson is the clear second best team in the ACC when Louisville beat them and is the second hottest team in the conference? Maybe it's cause they just did a segment on Louisville and didn't want to talk more about us?
Louisville and Syracuse basically had the same season. We lost AT Standford and had the better win (I'd say) AT Clemson. Abd we were the only two teams to win our bowl. Year-end polls are just thrown together. :)
I agree. Louisville should have finished ranked somewhere around 20-23, I think. Louisville would beat Army and Navy (both had nice seasons but were crushed by Notre Dame, a team that Louisville hung in with and only lost by 7 against), UNLV who had three losses to quality opponents but no good wins, and Missouri who got blown out by anybody decent that they played and benefitted from an easy schedule. Missouri's best win was by 6 against BC at home. The same team that Louisville beat on the road. Memphis played an easy schedule and their best win is against Tulane. Colorado was just getting overhyped because of Deion and the Travis Hunter Heisman win. Colorado lost to all of their ranked opponents, got blown out in their bowl game and by Kansas late in the season. They got blown out by a middle of the pack Big Ten team and nearly lost to an FCS team. We had just one bad loss and we also faced 4 opponents better than their best opponent (BYU in their bowl game). Louisville deserved to finish ranked.
@@seanholley7284I actually agree.. Louisville rarely gets the respect they deserve in any sports genre.. it’s ludicrous that they almost beat a team that was in the National Championship game plus win their bowl game and not be ranked bc of one bad game that they barely lost smdh make it make sense
Louisville Football should've finished anywhere from 20-23. And while our defense coaching could've been better I stand 10 toes down that not many teams had the backfield capabilities like ours, Tyler Shough was 🔥🔥🔥and our recieving corps wasn't a slouch either.. But all & all, we had the same season that Syracuse did but we just had a better win which was over golden boy Clemon.. Next year will be interesting to watch! And YES, Louisville Basketball is most definitely back! Go Cards
I am just happy SMU is being talked about and it isn't about the Pony Express death sentence. I remember those early 2000s days and it feels so good not to be in that pit of despair. I actually have a good feeling in the future in football and basketball... what is this feeling?
Us Louisville fans can relate, we dealt with the death penalty and it was horrible. Luckily it didn’t hurt us for as long as it did SMU. The future looks bright for both Louisville and SMU in both basketball and football.
Please stop blaming Kenny Payne, it’s not all his fault. I feel like it’s not necessary to praise PK & this new Louisville team, but also, at the same time, put down Kenny Payne. The reality, is Kenny was given a lot less to work with than Kelsey, (less Nil, & less time to recruit). Also, he inherited ( let’s just be frank), a lot of bad players from Chris Mack’s poor recruiting. Not to mention, Payne was a NEW head coach. He had never really coached before, and what he did at Kentucky was more recruiting than coaching. Also he just had some bad luck. The tall 5 star 7 footer he got from Minnesota was ruled medically intelligible, the 5 star freshman Trentyn flowers, turned pro days before school started, and perhaps the worst of all time, the number 2 player in the country, DJ backed out of his commitment and instead went to Kentucky. (Don’t know why our AD didn’t jump in there with more Nil dollars to help keep these players, Might have made a big difference for Kenny and UL). So Kenny got the UL Job when the program was at its lowest point, and his tenure was more of a consequence of that, rather than the cause of it. Lastly, Kenny’s coaching style was just not one well-suited to Louisville. He came from a program where a premium is put on 5 star high school kids, while Louisville has always been more about culture. Pat is all about building culture, where Kenny, along with Calipari, are more about building talent. So in short, Kenny was just a mismatch, mixed with some bad luck, and poor NIL. He is the right coach for the right program somewhere, and when he gets more coaching experience he’ll be better. Pat, however, is an experienced coach, with a track record of getting the most out of less. You put someone like him in Louisville, & he should thrive. It’s not all Kenny’s fault. He was given a really bad hand, (as evidenced by how little the Chris Mack players he inherited are contributing to other teams right now). To me, Chris Mack added more to ULs problems by just being a bad recruiter, and to me, that’s what caused the following years of Payne (pun intended).
You have a lot of excuses for KP. The man got paid 12 million so do your job. NO EXCUSES!!! He should have never been a coach for our program. He should have coached a Mid Major before getting an opportunity to coach at the University of Louisville. He just SUCKED!!!
Sounds like you’ll looking for someone to blame. What about the AD hiring him knowing he doesn’t have the coaching experience, and giving him that amount of money. Who in the right mind going to turn down 12 mil to coach a storied program? He got top recruits to at least to sign or consider us. Not his fault Flowers left right before class started, DJ choose Ky when his grandfather was hired and could possibly look like tampering to get him to come. KP definitely isn’t the only person to blame, but to act like he is definitely crazy.
@@djmoore7711 Boosters heavily pressured the AD to hire Kenny Payne. And Kenny Payne took several weeks of vacation immediately after being hired instead of recruiting. As an example of his work effort. KP did not make use of the resources he had. He got resources. He didn't use em.
@@kyledodd6496 I get that. I did mention I believe that it’s not 100% on KP. Was people expecting him to turn down 12 mil? I do believe though he was still on the NY Knicks staff at the time of his hiring, and he waiting until they were eliminated from the playoffs, before coming to Louisville to get the ball rolling and did take a vacation I do believe. But again not all his fault. He had a role to play in it tho.

Uh I remember Louisville putting the clamps on both Clemson and North Carolina
Louisville was a top 25 football team.
Louisville fan here. I enjoy your podcast from both this and your reporting for Syracuse. Keep up the great work!!
Goooo cards baby!!!!
The Ville back baby!!! 🔴⚫️🐤

The Clemson team who lost by double digits to Louisville
Question is why is Louisville not in the top 25?

SMU is doing well in FB and BB in our first year.

You guys have good nil and seem to care, shout out to the ponies from this Louisville fan

Louisville is the second best team in the acc and will be in the acc championship
SMU got into the red zone six times against Penn State. The stats in that game were even except turnovers and points.
Louisville should be 2md after Duke. Go CARDS!

Kenny Payne sucks as a coach. Someone has to take that blame.
