- Join us on our latest adventure as we sail to Guatemala on our brand new sailboat. Along the way, we had the pleasure of meeting a truly inspirational young couple who sail without an engine. Their incredible courage and determination left us in awe, but as we discovered, this is not a feat for the faint-hearted. In this video, we'll take you through the ups and downs of their incredible journey, and show you just how challenging and crazy it can be to sail without an engine. So if you're brave enough to consider taking on this incredible challenge, make sure to watch this video first!

Cheers Scott! 🧡
Ha, I don't know who is more inspirational between the two of you:) love it!
Thanks Maria! Super kind. :)
I'm here because of the amazing @MaryLascelles who posted this video on VERO. This was incredibly inspiring & beautiful, really makes me miss my summers on the lake with our broken down pontoon boat.
Isn't she just the greatest? :)
Thanks for checking it out. Lake sailing would be a great way to pass the summer:)
Sailing Dacia sent me to check out your channel
Hey! We appreciate you checking out the channel! ✌️
Another awesome couple. Love seeing the folks you’re meeting along the way, Will & Olya. They’re gutsy and fun. Like meets like. ❤
Thanks Mom :) ❤
We've definitely met some great people on the water!
Wish I could introduce you to several couples I've known who were engineless circumnavigation. One amazing couple had no electric system, no refrigeration, no computers nothing but a small solar charged battery for the ham radio, his one concession. The running lights were antique kerosene burners.
Holy cow! I mean, I guess that's how it was done forever before modern technology, but it still blows our minds!
I'm not volunteering. After 35 years on board I'm loving the iron Genoa!
@@ericmary1338 🤣no blame here!
Sounds amazing! Hope you are both well:)
That sounds miseable. I first crossed oceans hawaii to fiji with a 30 footer. Basic.a old windvane No frige,no ssb,a old gasoline engine that ran for a few hours if lucky. But i did have a gps in 1991. The first civilian models magellan .I thought i was king for that. Today my 47 year old 37 footer has had new diesel. 7 gps devices,4 freezers,4 autopilots,2 sattelite phones.electronic charts,4 computers. And i am old school. Every boat i meet cruising the world has way more.
I keep 2 years food and a dozen protection devices onboard.
The worlds youre oyster.
Thank you for highlighting Jackie and Evan on Dacia! We have known them most of this journey and they are both amazing young people. We are so proud of them and their approach to life! It was awesome getting to know you as well!
Absolutely! We are so glad we got to know them whilst in Guatemala! Good things to come!
Wait you guys have a new boat? It looks awesome! Also, keep the mustache!!! Olya is too funny.🤭
We've actually been on this boat for a while now, but it took us a while to get back into filming as we had to prioritize work in order to keep her afloat, (metaphorically and physically!) We are loving it though and have some big plans for the future.
And thanks for the mustache comment! One vote against Olya, (counted!)
Thanks again guy’s! 😊
Chhhhhheeeeeerrrrrssss matey!
Nice video! Sailors are definitely a special breed of people! But I must say, that engineless sailors are EVEN more special breed within the "sailors". Thanks for introducing us to Evan and Jackie!!! What an incredible couple!
Couldn't agree more!
Great video!
Thank you for stopping by!
🎉
Shame we didn't get know you both while at ram marina. Fair winds
Rio is a small place but somehow it's impossible to know everybody, right?:))
Thank you for sharing! Sometimes, your background music makes it difficult to hear the speaker. Safe travels ❤️

Thank you so much for watching! 🙏
Yay!! I was your 1000 th subscriber!
That's awesome! Thanks for the support:) We owe you an ice cream or something!
Guatemala looks awesome! Was the river difficult to get up on a sailboat?
Guatemala was such a welcomed surprise. We loved it. We had to motor up the river as the canyon wasn't good for sailing, but it was easy enough.
Great videography, storytelling elements perfectly integrated into your presentation. I look forward to more from The Adventure Locker. We are presently cruising the Bahamas, having circumnavigated in the 1980s, perhaps seeing you out there.
Amazing! We are hoping to explore the planet from our own boat over the next few years. If not now, when? Right?
We loved the Bahamas. Enjoy!!! Fair winds.
@@theadventurelocker Another couple sailing with no engine are in Rio Dulce, having the channel: Beau and Brandy, giving you more material for your get-under-the-skin interviews.
Yes, we met them while we were in Guatemala. :) Great couple!
