agree. Both Thakur And Gabar made Sholay complete as it was their revenge animosity which was central story line apart from Jai Veeru's friendship. But Sholay had many supporting actors like Asrani - Jailor, Soorma Bhoopali - Jagdeep, Mausi, Chacha - A K Hangal who are remembered today. Even for Helen, the original item girl of Bollywood, the Mehbooba song is still her most famous.
