- KOBALT 24V MAX Tools WATCH THIS BEFORE YOU BUY THEM! In this video we show the #verycoolgang what to expect before you buy Kobalt 24V MAX tools and what to watch out for. This video should give you a good expectation of what to expect from the Kobalt tool brand and how they manufacture their tools. Recently we tested a one handed recip saw from Kobalt on #TTR or #tooltestraw and it went up in smoke, we contacted Kobalt tools about the issue and they sent out this new compact recip saw for us to test. In this video we test out the new recip saw they sent to us to see if it will fail again. The results of this video speak for themselves, Kobalt tools are reliable and strong. Let us know your thoughts on Kobalt 24V MAX tools in the comments section below and thank you for watching!
It’s weird how much I like tool reviews.
I catch myself watching reviews on tools that I will NEVER go buy. But I'll watch somebody beat the hell out of it 😉
There’s only 1 true test. Give it to Nick if it’s still running after 10 minutes use then it’s good. If not back drawing board for Kobalt! 👍🏻
🤣🤣
@@VCGConstruction 🤣🤣👍
Double o rings are the death of everything good to know they admitted a mistake very impressed with kobalt and there honesty
@@ChazSeamus28 I agree
So glad you did the revisit. Been using mine to cut downspouts to length for new installs going on 8 months now, even some demo work removing walls and never had any issues. I agree the foot would be nice if it articulated. I ended up putting some mole skin on the foot to keep from scratching the downs and it helped. Glad to see the XTR battery on it too.
“Do I smell somethin?? It’s the smell of performance” 🤣 good one Vince
I just smell what The Rock is cooking.

I love this tool! We disessembled a small family home and this was the tool I relied on. Got the job done and no smoke! 😊
Free blade is with instructions you can see it when you pull it out
I seen it as well and was wonder8ng how many people that never looks at the instructions missed it
@@everyonehatesb.o.b.7287 I almost missed it with my two-handed one
@@everyonehatesb.o.b.7287 its even funnier because he was all like "READ THIS" and didnt even look at it enough to notice the blade lmao
Iv had this tool for Alittle more year use the crap outa it in all sorts of stuff from cutting wood, pvc pipe, metal never let me down. Does seem to use slot of battery life quick but still great tool. Makes me money
Total Awesomeness! I absolutely love my "Kobalt Tools 24volt Combo Kit," which includes the recently redesigned Reciprocating Saw
Thanks for reviewing the Kobalt line. I have a number of their tools that I'm happy with and glad to see them coming up on your reviews and tests
While I may be ridiculous for noticing, I really appreciate the editing efforts in this video. Really well done guys. 👍👍
Much appreciated!
Lovin my Kobalt tools! Wasn't worried even after the first test. These are damn good tools IMHO!
Now I know its worth it, I need to figure out how I can convince my wife I need it. Perhaps I just buy it and paint it red so she doesn't notice it with the rest of my tools.
Took a while to convince my wife I needed to upgrade my stuff.
Give her massages as she wakes up for weeks and she'll even buy it for you
Just buy it don't worry about convincing. If you are fixing things around the house, you've already saved both of you more than enough to
afford the new tool. BTW, I'm a wife. I love good tools so don't abuse them or you'll piss me off. No new tools from me if you don't take care of them :-)
Lol, just do what I did and buy them on the lowes card. It was all good until she saw the statement. After getting pissed, threatening to leave , and everything else, after a couple of hours she was fine and told me to keep everything as long as I paid the bill. Now I have a bunch of new kobalt and Dewalt tools and life is good
I love my $199 kobalt I got over the holidays going strong still will get XTR later on no rush since there both brushless it’s a great brand
So far loving my Kobalt tools. Way better than Black&Decker, Craftsman. Good for a DIY or Prosumer.
I want to see this tool last through the test cause I love kobalt and their products.
Just bought one a few months ago. Great tool. Works really good for pruning bushes and trees.
I have one, is wonderfull tools , I use all day cutting EMT pipe . My best buy.
I absolutely love my kobalt tools and even though I have the latest Dewalt tools on the market as well, and have always been a Milwaukee fan, I think the kobalt system is the best on the market
I have the 6 tool set w/ case, love it so far. I've been doing some demo and reno in my barn, and Kobalt has done everything I've asked it to do, and while I don't actually abuse my stuff, I do expect a whole lot out of it! ...it cuts clean and quick, all the tools are strong and smooth running, batteries last a long time and charge quickly on a standard charger. I also picked up the Kobalt fan that goes with this set. Out of the box, with a fully charged 4ah battery, it ran on low for just over 49 hours. I wish they'd come out with a shop radio/charger for it, I'm not wasting my money on a bluetooth speaker just because it matches the set.
The Smoke saw :) I have three of them. My neighbor hates it, because he knows when he sees me with it, His bushes are getting cut off my fence again. lol
🤣🤣
I love Kobalt I've never had any issue with ANY of their Products
Off topic but I have the kobalt 80v mower blower chainsaw and string trimmer and they are outstanding.
I work for a GC and all the use is primarily Dewalt tools...........I however like my Kobalt tools. Your reviews are great. Keep em coming.
Hello VCG
Vince differently retest the tool.
I use the German 18V Metabo and the 12V Fuel Milwaukee very regularly.
If I was just starting out as a your guy I would take Kobalt seriously as a starting set.
I have a Kobalt 24 volt Max weed eater and blower and they work just fine. Keep in mind that they aren't real heavy duty stuff but for around the house and for the price I paid they're great!
I've got the exact saw, use it all the time and haven't had any issues at all
YES... Glad to see you do another live test because the first drill I bought for them stopped working on the first day.
Thanks to yall I made the choice to buy into the kobalt line. My drill/driver combo kit is doing the job great. So let's see how my new circ saw and recip saw do.
M18 Fuel Hackzall vs this Kobalt 24v Hackzall or whatever they call it, please. Personally, I like the affordability of the Kobalt platform and its handtool offering.
Like someone else said the blades in the in struct sheowns bag nice vid thought the Kobalt was a beast in that TTR before it went up in smoke
come on guys, you wedged it between the two nails and locked it up. Very clear in the previous video. Jam up the other saw as well and see what happens...
How about a test against another Kolbalt max and same battery ... shouldnt be much difference in cutting time but it will confirm tool temps and results
I dig this little saw , now I need the full size one .
If this doesn’t fry - I’m going to go get me one so test it to the max
If you haven't got one yet, I just picked mine up today for only $79 and they added a 2 amp hr battery to my cart for free
Nice to see this tool back in action
Now that Kobalt one hand saw did better than the previous one. When cutting the drywall screws looked like the blade was getting dull-the sparks-you were then "friction sawing"This can be done with Do-All and Tannewitz Friction cut bandsaws that run special blades at 10,000 or 14,000FPM for cutting sheet metals,Stainless Steel and other hard steels. Now things are looking up for Kobalt machinery!Glad the one you used before that put on the smoke show was defective.I always thought these tools with breushless motors had protective circuits-act like a circuit breaker or current limiter to prevent the motor or battery from getting too hot and burning out.
What about testing it against the XTR also from Kobalt and send all the losers to BRANSON for the New Veterans woodworking club !!!! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos. Don't forget to hug your wife and let her know that I/we miss her and she LIVE walk around videos !!! Thanks,
Rodney
Thanks Rodney
Just got my hat and shirt today 😁. I'll be wearing them to work tomorrow and representing the #verycoolgang. Great video!!!! Keep doing what y'all do!!!
Thanks Brandon!
TTR against the Milwaukee! Kobalt needs one in the XTR line
I'm still using my 10 year old drill and 1/4" impact driver. Haven't killed a kobalt tool yet, and have only lost a couple of batteries.
The blade was in the instructions bag and great video
It cuts great! Impressive 😉
Have not had a single hiccup with my Kobalt tools and I am extremely hard on tools , dropped off rooftops daily and worked hard and hot ! the only issue I have had at all was when I left a battery outside overnight, it got covered in dew moisture & it will not charge now, little pissed about that but , it's whatever. . . .
Another thing that gives kobalt an advantage is that they don't have to pay Milwaukee royalties for their batteries!
Thanks Vince..... awesome video as always!!!
Thanks Robert, we appreciate it!
I went to Lowe's and sen the huge selection of tools
Makes me want to switch to kobalt
All my cordless tools are Kobalt, I love Kobalt, wish they would make a cordless nail gun, great review!!!!
Whoop on it vince! Great videos
Lol the free blade was inside the manual bag 😂😂😂😂
I just got the full size. Made quick work of the 15 sumac trees in my backyard. Looking at one hand for future pruning
Put the KOBALT vs the DeWalt. I'm looking to buy either one of them
Put the xtr up against the older ones!
Can't beat Kobalt for the money I have damn near the whole line of kobalt tools they haven't let me down yet
Really nice saw ...l agree l think if the shoe pivoted it would make for a more flexible cut in the leverage
Push it to the limit.
Haha...the blade was inside the instruction package.
So while you made a video clearly showing Nick with the blade possibly jammed between two screws and the system overheated, Kobalt took the blame? Wow, cool! So did they replace the saw for you? You mentioned something about picking another one up yourself.
I got one of those and I love it
The blade is in the instruction bag. You could see it when you toss the bag
Question: Can ya'll show whether or not the XTR battery fits in the vacuum? I know it won't fit in the Kobalt fan, but the vacuum is another tool with a tight space and extremely high battery consumption!!!!
Hahahah Vince, love how you point out how crazy the odds are that you guys tested the one lemon tool in that store. It's pretty cool to see it run through those tests but a few things made it different than the failure! The obvious one is the battery (great showing the backwards compatibility though). The other thing is that the TTR had em going at it for quite a bit longer right? So the tools were already warming up? Awesome video though guys I can't wait to see more.
Wonder if the o ring thing happened to me. My multitool just smoked up and sparked too. My drill skips too and isnt as strong now. I liked the tools while they worked but damn.
I have a kobalt 12v max lithium battery with drill impact and sawzaw .my charget broken I've looked everywhere for a12v max battery charger can you please help me get it or point me in the right direction
I own Ridgid there good for life
How about a review on new Kolbalt 24 volt lawnmower, Made by same company that makes EGO.
Would I get more general use out of that one-handed saw or their 24-v angle grinder?
I’m a Blood 🩸 till I die!! Red for life! Milwaukee.......
TTR retest. Same competitor. Same operators.
Another great vid
I'm so shocked looking at Nicks shocked face. 😃
🤣🤣
Its shocking to read how shocked you were seeing Nick shocked⚡⚡
I recently purchased the Kobalt XTR 5 tool combo set. I'm a Milwaukee guy, but I would've been a fool to pass on $400.00 Brushless 5 tool set with the tool box... I'm only disappointed in 2 of the tools. That being said, there just minor inconveniences.
I recently purchased a 24 V Max kit what if one of the tools break do I just take it back to Lowe’s where I purchased it and they give me another with this five year warranty it shows
i love the kobalt line of tools but i wouldnt get this just for the fact that i have the bigger monster. i like the tool though i would recomend it for diy ers or basic needs
also i didnt hear the difrence with the batteries
Hey I bought a kobalt impact and drill combo kit and the drill locked up. I tried to take it back but the store told me that I need a return authorization number to exchange the tool how have you been able to contact kobalt
“It’s the smell of performance”😂😂😂
good tools! kobalt is great for the money
Hey guys, I have a wacky idea. It may be a bit dull, but I would like to see a "evolution of Ridgid" test. I own Gen5X, and I would like to see a head-to-head competition of all the generations of Ridgid impact drivers. Starting with the first, all the way to the latest Subcompact driver. If you pull that off, I will love you guys forever!
Sounds a little louder high pitched wine with the new xtr battery
My recip saw has endured daily abuse for a year, cutting think wood, metal, drops, stalls, other heavy equipment resting on it. This saw keeps going and outdoes my coworkers saws as well. My problem is the fixed guard. After awhile it becomes unfixed and the top side of the blade digs in. No way to adjust it or retighten. Once it’s lose, it’s lose. Other then that I would depend on this saw as a contractors daily use tool.
Found a deal on Home Depot for a 7 tool kit 20v, 2 2ah and 1 4ah batteries with toughsystem, case, normally 1200.00$ 58%off now 499.00$ is that worth it or wait for Black Friday?
Good job!🤙🧰👍
KOBALT 24V Max Recip Saw vs. Milwaukee 18V FUEL HACKZALL. Ringside seats plz.
Hey Vince nice video as always, fyi Lowe's has in on sale for 79 dinero's
Sweet
Ya replication is a strong telling story
Need a redo against the Milwaukee
The blade was in the instruction bag.
The free blade is in the instruction book package.
Have you done any testing of the Ridgid/Ryobi multi max tool. I know one of your guys use it. I use the sawzall, oscillating saw and roto zip attachments all the time. Dremel makes a cool flex blade that is great for coping trim.
I’ve used the corded multi Max on the job. It’s a useful tool!
Put it to complete with a Hilti and let's see who go farther and faster...and could you review some Hilti brand tools soon? Thanks...
Great video as always, Vince what type of Glasses are you wearing in this video? No more milwaukee
Before the video continues I wonder if he ever found the free blade in the owner's manual packet
I bought this tool around a year ago and have put it through so pretty hefty jobs and it's still going strong.
Own it, love it!
Love me some good ole KOBALT
Very nice recap Vince great video @vcgconstruction
Seeing how Rigid and Milwaukee got bought out by Chinese firm... We might see quality go down the drain over the next 5 or 6 years. Might start buying Kobalt soon.
Kobalt is the only power tools I buy! The performance and price on just too good imo
Love VCG amazing channel
Thanks Lance
Hey Vince I watched both videos and I have to say I’m a little let down by this new video. It seems you didn’t hammer down on this one like Nick did last time. I would like to see you guys test this one up against the dewalt 20v.
What does it take to burn up the milwaukee hammer drill or make chuck strip makita is ass
