    Perfect, this is the exact part that wore out in my Mila, long after its warranty period. I'm buying and replacing this sensor thanks to your video!

    Great video thanks! I actually started taking my Mila apart before I had any idea what the issue could be. Love taking things apart to see how they work. This gave me an Idea what could be causing such a racket. Hope it works

      I have found a few of them have main blower bearings start to whine, but the bad noises all seem to come from this little enviro sensor fan. Good luck on the repair, mine is holding strong after the fix!

    So what would make you think the sensor in your mila is used? i'm having doubts that my replacement unit they sent me is actually a new unit and not some refurbished crap

    • @OvalboreTech
      @OvalboreTech  2 роки тому

      there's no 'think'. the fan blades were obviously packed with dust.

    What do you think it means if theres a chirping beeping noise coming from the unit when you turn the switch on? Could it be the sensor? My mila won't even start up. I flip the switch and it makes the initial mila noise but right after beeps/chirps about 10 times continuously. Nothing on the display and the fan doesn't move.

      sounds like a failed power supply - my bedroom mila did that after a thunderstorm. haven't dug in to it yet, but I will try and remember to make a video on replacing the power supply

      Oh that would be awesome, thank you! Much more helpful than the mila support🤙

      I had this exact issue and just fixed it!! Not a fan or sensor issue.
      I have a black kickstarter model that started having issues. Wouldn’t calibrate and fan stuck on high and just kept repeating the process. Turned it off and a few days later tried again. It now had no screen life and was making the same chirping sound. Since it’s out of warranty and that all Mila likes to broken record say, I popped it open. I had suspected after listening to the chirp that it was a power supply issue since I heard a relay click as well. I noticed the particle sensor fan would try to start but immediately stopped with the relay click. When I got to the motherboard, holy cats there were puffy bulged capacitors galore! Cap C8 was the worst. It’s rated at 220uf/25v. When pulled and tested it came back 13uf at 62ESR. Basically a resistor now. I noticed they were all small package Samxon capacitors which are highly notorious to failure. So I grabbed 7 capacitors and bumped the rating up from 25v to 35v and installed them.
      On first test, we had a screen back and a happy chirp! It was able to calibrate and is not running as if there was no issue.
      This again was for a Black kickstarter model. Serial number 927. Less than 3 years of age.
      If you want/need help, or want more info let me know. Absolutely ridiculous that Mila is saying it’s a motor control failure. It was just $5.00 in capacitors.

    Did you find a part # to replace the fan in the sensor?

    • @OvalboreTech
      @OvalboreTech  Рік тому +1

      the fan isnt worth changing. the sensor cluster is cheap. data is (and has been) in the video description

    So is this little sensor box the culprit I hear from my Mila at low speeds? I unfortunately purchased this one off of someone and can’t use the warranty

    • @OvalboreTech
      @OvalboreTech  10 місяців тому

      if itsa buzz, yeah usually the plantower sensor cluster. if its a whirr, thats usually the big upper blower.
      the warranty is useless anyway.

      Hey there, if its a whirr how do i fix the upper blower? Do i need anything in particular? Many thanks @@OvalboreTech

    Anyone ever have a Mila that at low speeds started making a couple clicking sounds followed by dropping power/rpm then it re cycles up for 10 or so seconds then repeats??

    BUYER BEWARE! I bought two and both broke right outside of warranty. Go figure. And of course they are sorry but won't do anything.

      oh thank god a UA-cam commenter states something completely original and helpful on a content piece where the creator owes the consumer absolutely nothing. This isnt an MP3, it's not an audio book, it's a visual of how to get in to and how to pinpoint the plantower sensor which has a poor quality inducer fan and how to fix your out of warranty unit for $20.
      thank you ever so much for being a useful example of humanity. /s
