Hi, your video was great and very helpful, thank you so much. I recently purchased a reprinted version and I compared the new one and my original one that was exactly the same as yours. Surprisingly, I found the new version cards are not thin at all like you showed in the video, and the new card stock is actually thicker than the original. I’m wondering if the company improved the card quality? I thought it’s interesting.
OMG. I just purchased the 1st edition and almost thought it was a fake until I read your comment! Same here, my 2nd edition is thicker, I purchased from amazon in 2024 so maybe they seen Lisa's video and changed the cardstock ?!! 😅 Anyways thank you!!
Supportive Tarot So glad you made peace with it AND you did the community a service with this video AND I hope you got good $ for it anyway, assuming you sold it. ❤️❤️
Yum yum😋 Only meh: no Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. This just begs for a 21st century version! Btw deeper colour inks are more expensive... Paler = more profit for publishers 😁
Thank you for sharing this video. A friend of mine gave me his deck but he lost the book. I was wondering if you know where can I find a pdf or something. The oracle is so interesting, but I feel that I'm missing lots of details. I would love to buy it but unfortunately, It's quite expensive in my country.
I would have to say I like the original cards better, however I would probably just keep both and keep using the ones I had been using, and have another set as back up. Just my thoughts on it. Thank you so much for sharing ♥
I think the thought behind thinner card stock had to do with how many cards there are and being a riffle shuffler I like thinner card stock, however, I am disappointed with the quality of the cardstock. I have decks that have very thin cardstock, but it's gorgeous, buttery and you can tell that there is a core in it that makes it durable. The cardstock here is more like the cardstock you might find in a board game. I would rather have paid more to have a higher quality deck although I'm not sorry I purchased it as it's a really complete in-depth system.
You make an excellent point about the lack of core and about the comparability of the new version cardstock to a board game cardstock - I totally get where you're going with that. Hopefully they continue to keep this one around and perhaps in the next round of printing they upgrade the stock somewhat. It did feel like a cheap move particularly since they clearly upgraded the quality of the outer packaging (box) and the book. I suspect they were counting on hype to sell it regardless of stock quality. While it did grow on me throughout my time using it and I do find it relatively easy to shuffle now, it is one of my least aesthetically pleasing decks.
It's a shame the reprint has Adaptability misspelled in the reprint. That's a deal-breaker for me. Was the original printed in England because they have the British spellings of 'defence' and 'fulfilment' whereas the reprint has 'defense' and 'fulfillment' (American spellings). Those spellings either way don't bother me as they're both correct depending on where you are.
I got this deck yesterday and didn’t notice the typo but saw it just now in the video - absolutely awful. How does that even happen?! Ugh this is going to bug me until the end of time, I’m sure.
Thanks for sharing. I'd not seen this one... but am studying astrology this summer (via Benebell's course) and this might be a nice little study tool! :D The original's cardstock looks nicer but that built-in book is weird...
Here's a deck I do not have, and was kind of waiting for just this video to decide...astrology deck, yes please...the deck creators behind the Moon Oracle, yes please...card stock controversy...alas, I am a "cardstock nerd" - sigh. I also feel like the originals are finer lines and better color combos because they are probably original art scans, and the new edition is most likely a scan of the cards...so the original art quality wouldn't be possible...so I'll continue to haunt the bookstores, used book shops, garage sales (gotta love spring) and I am really grateful that the universe presented you with the first edition so I could stick with my (silly) card stock snobbery. It's a hard job, but somebody's got to do it!
I totally hear you on card stock snobbery. Funnily enough, I *detested* the new edition card stock when I first opened the deck.... but it grew on me in a strange way and I sort of liked it after a bit. It's definitely NOT the sturdiest, though, but I don't mind a deck that gets well-worn.... :)
Great presentation! Thank you! I am waiting for my own version to arrive and work with it. Love it!
I don’t have either version. I would prefer the first edition if I could get it. This looks like such a cool deck. It’s a definite on my Wishlist.
Thank you Lisa! This looks like a great oracle deck to pair with the Rider Waite Smith tarot decks!

Have they fixed the spelling error on the Adaptability card? Quite tempted but that puts me off.

Yay, you did it! Very useful comparison!! Thank you!!
Yay! You're welcome. I didn't keep the OOP one, but I'm glad I actually got my hands on it before deciding or I may have had regrets.

Interesting. There was definitely some skimping going on.

Lisa, you're sounding particularly good in this video
like
really good
Love me a comparison video! Thanks Lisa!! I sort of was waiting for the riffle-shuffle at the end XD.
Awwww.. sorry about that! I totally forgot that bit! lol
Supportive Tarot lol, no prob at all, it was a funny touch ;)
I LOVE this deck. It's way up there on the old wishlist right now!
It really is wonderful!

Appreciate your feedback. 😍
Holy crap, I can't believe they printed it with a grammatical error! The new deck says "ADAPATABILITY" on the card! Really, really disappointing.
Yikes! I hadn't even noticed that!
and DEFENCE/DEFENSE ...FULFILMENT/FULFILLMENT...but detachment is probably more correct than detatchment

I have both as well the second copy is NOTHING like the reprint of the Mystic Meg ☹️
Was the reprint of the Mystic Meg not good?
Supportive Tarot I think so it’s sturdy
Thanks for sharing this one!
I have that original version, but my book wasn’t built into the box, that’s weird.
I've seen it on other decks sometimes too!
❤❤❤Thank you.❤️❤️❤️

Yeah, the cardstock was DEFINITELY nicer! And I find it to be wonderful as an Astrology study tool.
Is this deck for fortune telling or self reflection?

Did you sell your original deck?
Do you know any other sun or yellowish tarot or oracle's
The Chrysalis Tarot has a very "sunny" feel! :)
@@Lisa_Papez oh thank you. Yes it's very yellow x
Three spelling errors in the first print!
