The Indianapolis Colts have the absolute best General Manager in the league and anyone who doubts this, only needs to look at his draft pick success and his salary cap prowess. Colts are never in trouble with their cap and when seventh round draft picks are starters in this league, you know the man knows what hes doing. If Anthony Richardson turns out to be a bust, the Colts will find out quick, but the safer prediction is the man can play…. Colts have had six different QBs in the last six years on opening day, and the fact Ballard finally pulled the trigger on Lucks replacement, means the Colts are back being a perennial playoff team.
A lot of facts you said but also some things you didn't get right we could have made better draft picks by taking more chances on players we needed

I love the pick. Take a shot on a generational raw talent rather than a "safe" pick that becomes the next pretty good but not really good enough QB like an Andy Dalton or Kirk Cousins. Too good to move on from but never really truly competing. At least with Richardson we will probably hit the jackpot or move on within a few years.

Chris didn't mess up with Luck. He had one season with Andrew essentially as he was injured in Ballard's first season. Then in 18 he drafts Quenton Nelson, and beefs up the offensive line. Least hit qb in 2018-19 season, but Luck was just hurt and beaten down from the 6 years prior..
Ryan Grigson and Irsay messed up on Luck. Ballard is still reeling from those decisions..

I think the good thing about young players with not many starts is they are usually only going to get better plus the habits you might have currently can be changed more easily

COLTS FANS NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS ISN’T ABOUT THIS SEASON, IT’S ABOUT THE NEXT 10 AFTERWARDS. They drafted this man because he has the highest upside of any QB in this class EASILY. And he’s just straight up the most physically gifted QB ever. A+ size, A+ speed, arm talent on par with Mahomes, Allen and Herbert, a natural throwing motion unlike Cam Newton or Michael Vick, and go watch the tape, he has great pocket awareness. He’s willing to stand tall and step up in the pocket, that’s rare for someone with that level of experience. It’s his footwork that needs to be cleaned up, that’s why he has accuracy issues. His comp % in college was bad and a lot of that is on him but his WRs were garbage at Florida. They dropped a lot of passes. He should 100% sit to just catch up and learn. He’s shown he can read defenses and go through his progressions but the sheer lack of reps could really hurt him if they throw him out there too early. I see so many comments ignorantly saying “yeah but he was bad in college”, again, it’s not about what his college stats say, it’s about his potential the tape shows and about how good HE CAN BE. I urge you to just be patient. It might take a year, hell maybe even 2 for him to get there, but if he does, that’s a generational QB. Josh Allen didn’t break out until year 3, Mahomes sat a year, it took Hurts 2 full seasons before he was good, Herbert had serious accuracy concerns coming out of college, it took Lamar a year to break out, this is happening more and more in the NFL. Just wait. And if he completely flops, they’ll more than likely be in position to draft another guy in 3 or 4 years but idk how you get upset at the Colts taking a shot on the guy that could literally save this franchise from going into full poverty.
AR is an investment pick and he has the upside to be the best pick in this draft in a few years. He has the physical gifts and traits to be a top QB in this league if he is developed right and is willing to learn. He seems like a genuine kid and shows a maturity well beyond his age. As a lifetime Colts fan, I couldn’t be happier
@@MikenMc His interviews at the combine acknowledging his flaws and that he needs to improve upon his accuracy, that’s huge. From all accounts, he was a leader at Florida, his head seems to be straight at 20 years old. This is also why they brought in Steichen, he played huge roles in developing Herbert and Hurts. The future is definitely exciting

Once they announced the Texans were the team that traded in front of us I was laughing. The only team that for sure wasn't trading for a QB.
This is the only pick we could've made. This conference requires exceptional QB play and a big swing on a high risk/high reward talent is what was needed
Poise is the word that Carson Wentz did not have unfortunately, as an Eagles fan love Shane’s ability to turn the Eagles offense around and really hope this pick works out for the Colts.

The kid is the same hight as Brent’s but Ringo ran a 4.3 to Brent’s 4.5 and Ringo is about 6 pounds heavier. He also has 2 nattys. What in the world

I really like Chris Ballard. He's a cool dude. Funny too sometimes but serious at the same time. If I was 20 years younger. I wouldn't mind be drafted as his quarterback
About the negative stories being leaked about these young men, these are being brought up by miserable people with nothing better to do, and they’re purposely trying to ruin a young man’s life.
We need to start him on day 1. Let him develop from the start just like you did with Manning. May not be a good year this year but he needs in game training.
