see how to rebuild a M88 Linkert carburetor that someone else had already rebuilt and destroyed its body. now its a correct M51L Linkert for the 1940 ULH bike it is going on. I used what I could and replaced the rest.

Thanks, I was adjusting to M 74 specs and this made all the difference on a 47 UL.

I have a new needle with a rubber tip ,could not get it to seal ,the seat is machined flat and the hole does not have a shanfer on it , when I drop the needl in and suck on the fuel inlet it leaks . I finally found a ball bearing that just fit the hole ,I dropped it in and gave it a couple of taps with a small machine hammer . That solved the leak problem .

My M88 is squirting gas. I've taken it apart and rebuilt it using your amazing videos and nothing. The bowl fills with gas but that's all. I was wondering if the bottom bowl nut is supposed to be hallowed out or flat because I ordered a new one because their photo appears to be flat. FYI I've ordered all new parts, like springs, gaskets, ball bearing, etc.

the bowl nut is hallowed out on the inside, not flat. your rubber tipped needle and seat is leaking. it could be the needle tip, float lever or float causing the flooding. look for binding and for the needle tip being bad.

Is that a new float? If so where did you locate it at?
