Best interview I’ve listened to on Surf Splendor podcast and the best interview I’ve heard or read with Chris on any platform! In my opinion, Chris is the best active all around shaper. Very interesting hearing more about his story! Hopefully we get a part 2 in the future!
What an epic interview. Handsdown the best interview with Chris. Best surfboards in my eyes, love Chris’ boards, his work ethic, the way he looks at life.
Amazing interview! I love Chris‘s overall confidence. It’s nice listening to people who know who they are and what they believe in. Well done you two! 👏
I would have never thought christenson would have been from artesia/cypress. As an inland kook myself I can say that this man is an inspiration of its not where you're from but where you end up. Thank you surf splendor for the great video.
Thank you David for another great episode! Reminds me of Serena Brooke, one of the most marketable athletes in woman's surfing and she also runs a surf camp in Samoa. Maybe you can interview her? 🙏🏼
Gosh darn that was soooooooo good. The passion Chris has. The passion you both have. Loooooved the stories. Love my board Chris. I think it’s actually behind you. Hahaha.
Been buying boards from EC 25 years. Got a jones Christensen snowboard collab. These guys grew up like a lot of us in the LB / north OC and it’s great hearing these stories because times have really changed.
Great interview with Chris, I worked with him for the years he has owned Moonlight but never knew a lot of his history, my respect for him has grown 100%!👍🤙
Great guest, super hard ass and seems very much like a real person, which I appreciate greatly. 40:00 I feel like the combination of Skip Frye (true local soul surfer) and Dick Brewer (pointy end of the rope, hawaii) is really meaningful as Christenson develops his shapes. 55:00 Great discourse from the guest on Clark Foam closing. Highly recommended. Guest continues to impress for his veracity and fearlessness. 58:00 Environmentally friendly, guest says "build something good that's not going to end up in the trash." That's a pretty solid position imo. 1:08:00 Fascinating to me how surfing technology (basically board design, shaping and materials) has evolved to such a high level without very much corporate, government, or scientific support. I think a lot of the early socal guys like Hobie or G&S had parents that worked in the aerospace industry? Think of the money and resources that go into airplane shapes or boat hull shapes, the americas cup foil boats for instance, whereas in surfing all that evolution happened through word of mouth, working together, sharing knowledge, trial and error. Now the tolerances are super refined and the range of compromises pretty well understood between the different board styles. Human ingenuity, damn yo! Take it from the man.
Rad Interview! Chris seem like epic dude and epic stories!! I've got an Brewer I found on the street that looks like it could be from the early 00's. I know its not a real Brewer because it doesn't the True Brew logo. Cool to know there's a chance it came from his shop!
Great interview, I noticed the Markovich art in the background. I was going to get a board from SR back in 2012 and always wonder why this only was a label at the bottom. Now I know. Love to get back and visit the shop and ride one
@@chriscockrilltattoo Ya, that’s what I thought…I’ve owned several EC’s, only one CC. I didn’t hear any mention of a brother in this interview, or did I miss it (?)

Great interview! Thanks for doing it.
Fantastic interview, and what an interesting character 🤙🏻
Awesome podcast Chris!
Great interview,
I noticed the Markovich art in the background. I was going to get a board from SR back in 2012 and always wonder why this only was a label at the bottom. Now I know. Love to get back and visit the shop and ride one
Excellent interview.!
Great interview, I recently got Jones surf series snowboard and stoked on it, gotta try his surf shapes next time I visit California
Definitely similar age and trajectory that I can relate to. Thanks for a great interview!
Sick interview
@elijahrichards2904, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the shoutout! 🙌 #chrischristenson
CC's impression of McCallum was spot on 🤣
Best quote of the interview: I’m from Artesia, bring it!
Very interesting guy 😎
Moonlight is the best and glad Peter is ok
I just bought a Chris Christenson 9.6 bandito, and I can't find info on it anywhere... 😑😥

If it's similar to this, you've got yourself a beautiful board!
@@SurfSplendor It's the exact same, but. Transparent green, instead of solid green. It's beautiful, just haven't tried it yet 😂😂
epic
yah CC !!
Why the split screen?
🤩
Is there any relation to EC?
It’s his brother
@@chriscockrilltattoo Ya, that’s what I thought…I’ve owned several EC’s, only one CC. I didn’t hear any mention of a brother in this interview, or did I miss it (?)
Yep you missed it he mentions him a few times
Get joel back on or tosh would be cool 🐸
Oh man the claims being made. My favorites are interviews you just let them talk and you can just hear the non sense.
