About: Richard Bacon is ably assisted by England legend David Seaman as he takes a hilarious look back at the 50 greatest shocks from the most explosive World Cup of all time - South Africa 2010.
The programme relives the most controversial moments of the summer - from Rob Green's horrific blunder against the USA to the French team going on strike; from Uruguay cheating Ghana out of a place in the semi-final to Frank Lampard's infamous 'goal that never was'.
But the show isn't just about the shocks that stole the headlines. There are also the brilliant moments that may have slipped under the radar - Fabio Capello daring to bully Stuart Pearce, Emmanuel Eboue attempting to speak Korean and the magical madness of Diego Maradona. We hear from the man who invaded England's dressing room after the Algeria game and find about the referee who found his own mistake funny.
It includes expert opinion from comedians, players, pundits and journalists such as Jack Whitehall, Dave Renton Skinner, David Schneider, Tom Deecon, Mark Lawrenson and Chris Kamara.
Fast paced, funny and packed with bizarre stories, it is the definitive look back at all that was good and very, very bad at the 2010 World Cup.
but heskey has the skills to pay the bills
thefruitninjaking he can even score sweaty goals
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
thefruitninjaking but he can't finish
Ksi!
thefruitninjaking he is also good at freekicks 😂😂💔
they thought peter crouch was gonna score 3 goals??
He's 10 fucking foot tall! When in the box, shoot the ball 100 feet high, and when it falls, Crouch gets there first. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. England wins!
+catandfishfc imagine if crouch was there, instead of heskey
No but he could maybe score 1-2 and encourage England to score more
They think the mediocre who never taste champions league trophy, euro, wc, and balon d'or would save them..
Idiotsss
Aleksander 1996 either way you don't put bloody Heskey on! For Defoe, no less!
Heskey should have scored an own goal, then the fans could've sung "5-1 - Even Heskey scored!" another time!
Underrated comment xD
Heskey for Balon D'or 2014
and 2015 and 2016 and 2017 and 2018 and ...
Bit late with thata mate.

At least those german players who went on to win the World Cup, could say that they played on the same pitch as Heskey
half of them left by 2014
Man i fell sorry for Heskey lol always getting abused
It's racism

HESKEY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kevin Samuel ksi!!!
SIUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!
I bet Capello only put Heskey on because he knew they were going to lose and he just did it for teh lolz!
would be better if this was actually "world cups most shocking" and not "englands world cups most shocking"
It was a shocking moment for England. Which occurred during the world cup. As much as you disapprove, the title is correct
for english people, it is. which is my point
Nic Cage the Dick Mage But you're implying the title is misleading, which it's not
its not. for english people.
for everyone else it is.
please no more salt.
It's an English show?
People missed the point, they didn't think Crouch was going to score or help score 3, but if you're down 4-1 in the world cup round of 16, why would you ever bring on Heskey?
The serious answer is that we were switching to a more direct style, and Heskey was better at holding up the ball. Heskey was never a lethal finisher, but he gave a lot to England with his all round game.
@@mankytoes Yes. He’s the ball carrier, but Heskey was out of his prime then. Not as mobile and good as his younger self.
@@heijimikata7181 he lost is pace yes but he was a player who was good on the ball and could get assists he was the 3rd choice striker and he was like 30 but If we had crouch he wouldn't of had the style of play with ball handling and skills we should of got shaun or Bradley Wright Phillips.
@@mankytoeswe didn't need to hold up the ball, we needed to put it behind Neuer
Coach's thoughts: "HESKEY TIME!!!!!!"
smh Heskey scored 28 goals in that match with his 3rd foot, he is underated
Are they serious with this? Crouch isn't that great either. British football media is a joke yes.
Watch the best of Peter Crouch compilation, you'll we how good he was back in the day.
+EricAKATheBelgianGuy Are you the biggest fucking idiot of the year? This was the 2010 world cup, AKA back in the day. If you were supporting my point, ignore the comment.
You can't be joking if you made another point, fucking idiot.
At the time he was good
EricAKATheBelgianGuy u are the most dumbest person ever lived.
"Emille Heskey, the Chuck Norris of football"
If you guys actually paid attension to the matches he played, you would have noticed that he was one of England's best players, and the one who worked hardest/ran the most of them all. Sure, he is not the striker type England needed, but he was the best midfielder.
The dude talking looks like the taekwondo dude from a Mr bean episode
Mz FR332Y so im not the only one who notices this
Facts
I think it is him though when he was younger. They all went to the same college etc
Mz FR332Y credit where its due for the observation
Mz FR332Y fuck yea
Crouch was unfairly used for England, his record is pretty good.
22 Goals for England!! Wow 🔥
In friendlies.
Hopes of the nation. They were not going to score 3 goals in 20 minutes
It’s a joke... bro
People of England I really hope you aren't that naive that you think that taking in Crouch would have made any difference whatsoever.
Lord Heskey😂😂😂
The guy in the end is like one of those snapchat filters where the mouth is enlarged 😂
I guess he was the guy from Uncle Max
I think the point is that if you're going to adopt the attitude of "Go for it!", throw on someone who's actually going to help.
Our chances of winning would still have been non-existent, but our chances of getting a goal would have been better with Crouch over Heskey.
Did you see the state of that England squad in 2010? The fact Heskey and Crouch were selected summed up how bad it was haha. Defoe was the main man ffs, it was that bad.
Heskey has pace and he can cross, oh and did I mention that he can score sweaty goals!
Hesky was going to wreck Germany
Just needed more time.....
+aspiknf u don't have any vids why?
+aspiknf lol me too but I have to cuz I want to but now I don't
I remember at the time thinking "Either start Heskey or don't bring him on at all".
He had some good performances in this era but he was certainly not an 'impact sub!'
Ahhh yes, Heskey, the big doofus. The man who fell on another player during a training exercise and injured them.
Rio Ferdinand!! I remember hearing it at the time
How is that a pivotable moment? We were getting smashed. Who thought we might have a chance!? 😂
These Heskey are sooo funny that I've lost my ability to laugh.
Good job guys, keep cracking them out.
IT'S HESKEY TIME!
1:10 Oh, Mr. Beans judo instructor.
Hahahahahahahaa
It's not the fact that Crouch was expected to score 3 goals, it was the fact that with 20 minutes left, we needed somebody fresh on to try and liven it up a bit and reduce the horrific scoreline....and he brought on Heskey.....
Capello wanted to give him his last match with the national team. There was no chance England was gonna make it.
Now this sub was crossing the line, unlike Heskey’s shots.
How did Heskey keep making it into the England team.
I think he once stopped Rio Ferdinando from playing in the World Cup, or Euros by injuring him in training just before it started. Probably fell on him lol
Was england playing that world cup? You learn something new everyday
Wow! Really? Did *no one* watch the qualifiers or even the *first two* games?
Heskey wasn't there to score goals. He was there because he had proven over and over again that he was *elite* at making *perfect* runs outside and back towards his own goal, drawing defenders and *opening up the middle* and *space behind the back line* for Rooney, Gerrard, and Lampard, as well as the speedy outside midfield subs like Aaron Lennon and Shaun Wright-Phillips, and not to mention flicking perfectly placed balls behind the defense with his head (which he was *especially elite* at in the qualifiers, where England won by a *whopping* average margin of 3.4 goals/game, as well as in the first two games, *especially* against the US, where *he* was the one who drew Demerit out of position, received the ball, and played a *perfect* one-touch ball in behind for Gerrard, as well as played *at least three more* perfect balls in behind with his head that everyone from Lampard to Rooney to Wright-Phillips failed to capitalize on due to both poor finishing and amazing goalkeeping from Tim Howard. And in the Algeria game, he was the *only* one sprinting to every ball, making his runs outside perfectly, and when his teammates didn't attack the space he created, even doing stepovers at one point to draw defenders in and try to open up the middle)!
Heskey was the *only* player actually *doing* his job! Unfortunately, Rooney and Lampard *completely* disappeared, Gerrard only appeared in spurts, and the speedsters playing outside mid, like Lennon and Wright-Phillips, were *beyond* ineffective, and so all that hard work went to waste (with the exception of setting up Gerrard's goal, which then went to waste due to Rob Green's massive error)! And unfortunately, *he* got punished for his teammates' failures, as Capello (rightfully) finally said, "Clearly, the people this guy is creating space for are wasting it. So forget about opening up space for everyone else. I'm putting Defoe in, who likes to stay inside, taking away space from Rooney, but is *much better* at *putting the ball in the net* when he's in! Normally I'd be afraid Rooney might score less, but he can't score *any* less than he already has!"
My bigger point being, bringing Heskey in *was* the right move, because as many people pointed out, there was *no way* Crouch would've scored 3 goals on his own! But what *was* possible was *Rooney* and *Lampard* finally waking up, and them and Gerrard finding their qualifier form and scoring multiple goals in quick succession (you saw a *tiny* glimpse of that when they scored "2" goals in 2 minutes against Germany), and having Heskey there to open up the middle and provide them the space *for* those opportunities wasn't just the *best* shot, but just about the *only* shot at that happening at that point (the middle was *so* congested that *entire* game, and weirdly enough, when Heskey was brought in, it actually opened up a bit, and Gerrard and Rooney actually got some semi-decent opportunities that, *naturally* they failed to score on)!
Heskey did a great job! Arguably the *only* player there who did *everything* he was asked to do *and* more to give his superstar teammates a chance to shine! Too bad his superstar teammates didn't show up and wasted all the space and opportunities he had created for them!
IT'S HESKEY TIMEEEEE
In Holland they got the same thing, Huntelaar is the best, but every single time the coaches put up Robin van Persie
Same in Man United, Rooney is a much better striker , even when Van Persie goes 10 games without scoring he is still in the starting 11.
arturs filipovs That's because Louis van Gaal is planning to become the trainer of Feyenoord in the future after United and Robin van Persie pretty much started at Feyenoord so he knows he has to keep him as a friend.
Just like he did with the Dutch team when he wanted the United job. Only at the very end against Mexico he wanted to let Huntelaar look like a fool. Somehow Huntelaar isn't a fool and managed to get Holland past Mexico within a couple of minits.
I liked Van persie back in like 2012 he was class, but now he is clearly past it, yeah he will score a couple of goals here and there but never as much and not consistent anymore! I mean he is 31, of course age and injuries have caught up with him, and he will never be as good as he was!
zezizarjaars And those who think he had a great World Cup, just makes me laugh, okay scored 2 aggainst Spain and that was all he did in that World cup!
arturs filipovs Well the world cup before (2010) as well as the European cup he was rubbish as well, also in 2012 ( www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Robin+Van+Persie+UEFA+EURO+2012+Matchday+2+FMT9HwzFSVLl.jpg )
He even missed several times on both tournaments for open goal. Most of my classmates would have done a better job as he did.
Crouch is pretty good hitting balls with the head
no shit
I can't help but think if heskey had another 5 minutes he could of turned this game around
Capello was probably thinking HESKEY was gonna run riot in the Germans defense with his blistering pace
heskey is more physical then crouch
I remember i was laughing so hardcore when Heskey came to the pitch :D
Gay
@@bensmith5288 we laugh hardcore
1:20 That looked like the Karate instructor from Mr. Bean
It is him. David Schneider
heskey is BEAST thats why he was subbed instead of crouch
Capello , what a comedian !!
laughed as soon as i saw the title
Peter Couch... the most underrated player on english football
I'm a Leicester fan and I was at that game, just behind the benches. And that, with the score at that, was one of the worst managerial decisions in history. Crouch's goal scaring record was phenomenal
"phenomenal" - hyperbole much? Not even Harry Kane's g/g ratio suggests he would score a hat-trick never mind 0.50
Agreed but it was better than Heskey’s
I see heskey in the title, I click.
2017 and it ain't getting much better. Think we should sit out 2018
How heskey ever got a look in after crouch had broke through was criminal, Owen and Rooney never sounded one bit genuine when they would say on how they liked playing up front with him.
Thank God he play football where there's no social media yet
Im still remember this england's “D-day" game with germany which they need scored 3 goals and then capello decide to sub heskey from bench my grandpa laughing so hard tho!
Crouch used to only score against the Lesser Nations
THANKYOU. God it’s irritating.
Yeah, like France, Mexico, Uruguay, Man United, Chelsea, PSV, Arsenal, Liverpool, Porto and Man City. You know, only lesser teams.
Graham Taylor did a similar thing with Lineker at the Euros in 1992. Barmy.
There were no dreadlocks for Peter Crouch to grab hold of in Germany's defensive line.
And for those who are like, what? England vs Trinidad and Tobago in the 2006 World Cup.
Sooo good scoring goals on the bench....
HESKEY? WHAT?????! - Classic
that English guy talking towards the end is the way I picture every English person in my head.
most shocking moment is having heskey In your squad let alone on the pitch
If only heskey had proved the world wrong and scored the hat trick, now that would have made for an interesting world cup
Peter Crouch has been England's best striker since Shearer
LOLOL XD at 0:42 LOOK AT THAT GUYS HAIR BEHIND CROUCH LOLOLOL
haha well spotted, looks like a character from Star wars.
Fabio made a big mistake in picking Heskey
We all knew in that moment, that Fabio Cappello knew nothing about football..Oh dear
capello knew what he was doing
But what a hilarious turn of events it would have been if Heskey came in and scored a hattrick!
Heskey is *BEASST*
1:09 Wait, is he that Judo class teacher from Mr. Bean ? The back to school episode ?
if it was England's most shocking moment, then why is Lampard's ghost goal number 1?
I wanted to see Crouch's robot dance. D:
germany proved that sweaty goal is the best method 2 score
He’s-key to our success
This should be no1 instead. so funny!
Still proud of England team, well done lads. We will improve and go onto to win the world cup. We never give up, but through determination we persevere.
Come on England.
You've been saying that since 1966 🤣🤣🤣
HESKEY TIME!
Conceded four goals and they're having a go at a striker who played 20 minutes
Everyone, we'll finally win the Euro 2020 football cup on Sunday. I said England will win every game, as the players all have unity and play for the country. Gareth and the team have done us proud, and will do great job tomorrow and win. Good luck lads from London.
We always had the ability and quality to win in the past, but the politics of prioritizing the club over the country mentality in the past prevented us winning.
I think we can keep the momentum going, and I believe we can win the world cup 2022 next.
Come on England.
😬
HESKEY TIMEEEEEEE
England WC 2010 summed up:
Rob Green, he made a big mistake, Emile Heskey was a big mistake, Wayne Rooney was a mistake waiting to happen and John Terry, well... he'll never make a big mistake again (you know what I mean, Wayne Bridge)
KSI knew he was the most underrated player, and know others are seeing it
We did come back with a heskey hat trick though and go on to win the tournament
Not sure if true but I heard Sterling had a poster of Heskey growing up
Heskey is the best player in the world, how dare they say this about an England and football legend.
Roll on 2014. Nothing beats world cup time.
DAM IM GETTING TIRED OF WAITING 4 THE VIDEO TO LOAD
Same response as when Bendtner comes on for Arsenal
I think next time British media will ask why Beckham didn't hit 3 Free kicks. When he was standing thr.
Even christiano ,messi or mbappe wouldn't have made any difference there, how can you expect Peter crouch to make a miracle
HESKEY IS A BEAST
that game was already lost
miracle no exist
If you were to watch ANY of KSIOlajideBT's videos, the logic behind heskey becomes known.
The skills to pay the bills and the fucking mortgage!!!!
It's shocking because it was a substitute that no-one expected... Or wanted
Amazing analysis sherlock
the game was practically over.. might aswell put someone who is going to retire on one last time
Why didn't play Peter Crouch that often? he seems pretty decent enough.
heskey is less
on that season,Darrent Bent score 24 goals for Sunderland and not in world cup squad
Its Heskey, and at the time Crouch was rated the best international striker (If you go by goals:games ratio).
Why was Heskey even in the squad?
