Hey Rich. I've not watched in a few months - you know how real life has that bastard knack of getting in the way, right? - so I had no idea you'd been ill, never mind with something serious. For what it's worth coming from a stranger on the internet, I'm rooting for you. You've given me many laughs over many years. And given how grim things can get, stuff like that really fucking matters. Take care mate.
Just read your comment and you wrote everything that I was going to post. I've not tuned into the podcast for a long time so I wasn't aware of Richard's health issues. I really can't wait to hear the good news about Richard being given the all clear and a clean bill of health. Also, reading all of the supportive comments like the one above restores my faith in UA-cam-humanity. Anyway, great to hear Rich is just as brilliant as he has always been. Also, John Oliver is bloody fantastic. I'm jealous that the USA stole home away from us here in the UK.

It's weird, I just recently got into british comedy (Thanks, Alex Horne) and somehow never realized John used to be part of that scene. I love this so much! Now how are we gonna get him to appear on Taskmaster?
Maybe Taskmaster would be different but I'm not sure if John is a big fan of being on panel shows. He always looked really unhappy on Mock the Week, though he was on it when it was a lot more competetive in terms of fighting for air time than it is now.
Didn't know this one had been on twitch. Will watch this as like John. He's done well in the US and his show is really good. Although I do get depressed when I realise he's a year younger than me but massively more successful.
"The Love Guru" is actually a funny movie. Definitely worth watching. Chance and fate keep stepping in and sending the protagonist off on strange and amusing tangents.
Only just heard that you have been fighting cancer! (I'm a bit behind on this podcast). Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Your tomfoolery brightens up my day!

Richard, this is my first time being exposed to you...outstanding interview with one of my favorite political comics. I love John Oliver and he helped millions of Americans get through 2020...what a shit show, on so many levels. I love your humor concerning your cancer...laughter gets us through horrible times. Hang in there. I look forward to looking back at your past videos. Wishing you the best from San Diego, CA.
Love the fact Jonny Showbiz has done RHLSTP, and his recent return to the audio newspaper for a visual world, The Bugel. Massively under appreciated comic over here and deserves all the plaudits and success for his body of work stateside.

I think this is some of Herring's best interview work. I feel like this is the most casual/relaxed version of John Oliver I've come across.
He did a Bugle episode with his old partner Andy about a month ago, and John was pretty chill there.

Really great job Richard.
This is one of my favourites of all time, so sweet and so giggly 😂
This was lovely. Just lovely. Thanks for your tenacity Rich, you got him eventually!
Didn't expect to see John here of all places. Lovely, innit?
This was the right place to see John. Interviews with him, while usually funny, tends to feel a bit uncomfortable. Not so here.
The internet is such an odd place to see john Oliver
John was great of course, but this I think is genuinely the best I have ever seen Richard interview somehow. Two extremely generous people I think.
John Oliver had a cameo in People Like Us (The Police Officer) and it was many many many years later that I realised it was him.
John Oliver is streets ahead
