What a clean video! From the aesthetic choice of liqueur to the Tandy upgrade, all around classy!
I have a Tandy 1000 EX that I got from my friend's dad yearrrrs ago. It was in great condition, and he had all the manuals, booklets, and floppies, and he even had the Tandy printer and CGA monitor, so I have the compete set! I have had it for years now and have always wanted to upgrade it for the longest of time!
I remember a couple years back the new lo-tech boards weren't made yet, and my only way of upgrading the computer was finding the original Tandy ram boards which at the time ran for easily over $300 dollars. I finally ordered the lo-tech boards and am stoked to finally try them out!
There's even a Tandy 1000 printer to DB25 adapter up on Tindie that I wonder can be used with the WiFi RS232 adapter also on Tindie. It would be so cool to get the Tandy connect to the internet and access Wikipedia and old BBS's as well as wirelessly transfer files to the Tandy.

the Tandys are really my fav of the PC clones - eventually the world became flooded with PC clone companies but Tandy was there very early while being great on cost/benefit (features) for their time period - and with a physical retail presence across the nation. The 1000 being a much better PC Jr than the IBM - was a genius computer when was introduced

You're a legend, Jeremy!! I'll have to compare the EX upgrades with my HX upgrades!

Great video. I have been pulling together a lot of Tandy's over the past several years and getting rid of my other PC machines in favor of the Tandy. I currently have the 1000, 1000EX, 1000HX, 1000RLX, 1000RSX and a couple COCO machines. They are great machines.

Look at the bright side of not installing the 3-in-1 card, the new one he is designing may add an extra serial and parallel port. Your show is great , thank you

Jeremy rocking the Tandy upgrades at 3am? Those French 75s must be good :)
Great video as always even if I was a little disappointed not to see you dancing in the reflection on the monitor, especially when space quest was playing.

🤦‍♂️ oh yeah 24 hour time for the clock. Not that it’s uncommon for me to be up at 3am working on vintage machines.

@@JeremysRetroBar I usually try to draw the line at 2am myself although sometimes you just need to get a project finished and it's easier to keep going.

jDos 🤣 btw I reckon Space Quest 3 would have to be the pinnacle of adventure gaming with Tandy Sound and Graphics.

🤣 I know I realized the mistake after posting. Oh well, I link to the actual products so anyone watching will get to the correct items on Tindie.

BTW at 6:30ish (upper right of the screen) that's a PLCC chip puller - not really meant for the type of chip you were pulling.

Nice video :) This is not the epic hardware like Amiga 4000 or 3dfx voodoo 6000. But it's the simple and cozy :) The simple games with the simple music is just so charming :)

I know I’m late to this party but this is a very cool video. You did not mention what card you were speaking of that combined multiple functions onto a single card. Could you kindly point me in the direction of said card?

12:49 MSDOS 3.30 is no good here as it can't handle more than 32M per partition (I take it CF card is 2G).
    Use 3.31 or better.

I have newer computers for newer OSes. No need to use more than 32mb on this computer. That’s what the 286, and 386 are for. It’s a museum piece and my goal is to purposely have older versions of DOS for people to use.
