I have a a theory of Tom and Jerry Tom was forced by his owner to catch Jerry that's why the owner got a cat and they abused Tom bc he never caught Jerry. Tom didn't want to catch Jerry bc Jerry was his friend so he would let him go on purpose but the owner would hit him.
