I love that piece of witness tree with the lodged bullet intact! That old wood makes the history of the bullet even more significant. You make some awesome videos, God bless!!
Thanks Gary. The limb was HUGE and full of signals. No idea if they were civil war projectiles or not, but we'll never know now. Relic hunting is now prohibited on that property. That one section was all I could carry away that day.
That’s what’s Yo! Looking forward to you hunting this spot! That was an incredible looking button though, do you have many buttons from that time period? And another piece of music found. So thought you found that one sweet coin! Sounds like Mud Duck gets gets no mercy from any of ya’lls jokes! Always enjoy your pals, keep walking and digging Yo!
Seeing that clip makes me wonder if you were hunting in an area where friends lived. At one time, Daddy had case after wooden case of those clips, and an M1. Someone had brought then off a ship and given them to him! Daddy would shoot limbs off trees with that thing. Can you imagine "plinking" with an M1?! There were so many cases of ammo I thought he'd never run out. I'm not sure he did, actually. What if that clip you found was one of Daddy's.....
That piece of witness tree with the bullet is fantastic! Did you preserve the wood? I've dug 2 bullets in wood (much smaller pieces), and sprayed them with clear matt finish. They seem to be holding up pretty well.
Thanks Chip. I have a few myself, but like yours, much smaller. I usually dip them in satin polyurethane. This big one I had a woodworker friend spray it with clear lacquer.

Thank you very kindly homeland! There were more signals in that fallen limb (as big as a large tree) but it is now off limits to detectorists.
Enjoyed the hunt Walker and I always enjoy the Va. Girl's reaction video. The piece you found @5.08 looks lke the back part of a saddle strap guide!
Thanks Jerry. I'll have to look that up!
Always enjoying your videos. Reaction video was hilarious. Saving that limb section was awesome.

Great hunt! Love that witness tree!
Thanks Swamp. That ones kind of special.

Beachwalker!! I have a few Colonial buttons but not many. Genna has enough to outfit a small army!

That sliver of iron reminds me of a small meteorite @11minutes…do you ever find meteorites?
Wow. I wouldnt know one if I did! That tiny, huh?
2:21 probably .30-06. im guessing for a memorial service or the like. or maybe a reenactment?
Sounds right Thurin. I looked around for a cemetery but couldn't find anything, but yes, perhaps a reenactment of some kind.
Has anybody done Gettsyburg doing metal detecting .
I have not, Gerard.
