It was set for Lipo mode. I changed it to Nimh on accident. It was hard to see in the low light there. We didn’t run it long enough to be an issue, but just double check yours. I looked in the light at home when taking the battery out and i had actually changed it when I shouldn’t have.
Thank you for clearing that up I got so scared because I have been using my scout for the past week and haven’t changed the settings, when I saw you Change it I got so scared that I have been ruining my battery😂
This is one of the most realistic views of a "Beginner at the track" I have seen. Thank you. This gives people a more realistic idea of what it'll be like if they're used to bashing and decide they want to try out racing. Driving well in an open area with jumps is much different than a confined race track with specific lines you need to drive consistently. Great vid keep it up.
@@CCxRC I can only imagine he added stress of other racers. I got into RC because of vision issues and was not able to ride mountain bikes or drive cars safely anymore. It's been 18 months and I'm in love with this hobby. Racing is out of the question for me. My vision is 20/600, I'm legally blind. (Pretty much like looking underwater in a pool all the time). However I have a blast crawling, bashing, on road and off. I even have a P.B. with my infraction V2 of 92mph. My speed runs are limited to a very specific area because of my limitations but does not stop my enjoyment. 12, RCs all upgraded, I've painted bodies built custom crawlers And done everything in between. I use jeweler goggles and very bright lights to work on my RCs. It may take me a little bit longer but I adapt and find a way. Like you I have a bash area and also a crawler course Right on my property. Thank for the content keep it up. Your conspiracy show is a favorite of mine to listen to while wrenching. 👍
That’s awesome man. Very inspirational. 92mph is faster than I’ve ever gone with an RC! I need to find a place where I feel more comfortable with speed. It’s definitely nice having a spot in your yard. I need to work on a better crawler course
@@CCxRC I bought this house 3 years ago before I ever thought of RC. The property and location ended up being perfectly suited for RC though. So I cleared out a large section and dug up baseball sized rocks up to 100 lb rocks from all around my property. This was done over an entire summer by hand a little bit at a time. I am disabled , do not work full time anymore so it's Not too difficult for me to find the time. I even built a bridge using branches and sticks. It cost me nothing except for a time and effort. Always adding to it though. Here in Massachusetts on this 3 acre property I have no shortage of rocks. I live at the end of a nice smooth dead end road And my property is abuted up against 20 acres of town-owned woods with about 250 ft of unused road just past my drive way. Anyway I won't take up any more of your time. Have a good one man.
I've got the same rig. Looking to upgrade stuff. The only thing I'm not sure of is the proper weighted oil for the shocks. I'm going with some RCAWD shocks that are all aluminum. I'm not adding a lot of weight with the other mods. Thanks for the effort and time with your videos.
Just got my Gen8v2 a couple weeks ago and gotta say I love it so far. I did hit a concert step with it and busted the portal housing so I upgraded to aluminum and I also upgraded the esc to a hobbywing 1080..these deff made the truck alot better. I'd also like to talk about the radio I'm sure it's a cheaper version but the range is great I can drive it so far that the truck gets so small I can't see it anymore..has to close to 100 yards..
Been thinking about going to Coastal just hate having to go into to Norfolk lol wish we had one over in Portsmouth or Suffolk area but yea looks like load of fun
I literally jus bought this last week. This is my first crawler and i love it. When i saw it i swear it was jus screaming at me to buy it! Worth the money fer sure
Keep the body tucked into the sliders. Reinforce the bottom of the body with some shoe goo and dry wall tape. The body is pretty thin and it’ll help out a lot. I love the green. The Scout looks great with clear windows.
Yes it is, be great for a Beginner getting in the hobby, and yes you can Add Brass Portal weights and stuff, but I heard it’s pretty heavy for being stock out of the box. But that’s your preference. I run my Capra RTR fully stock and that’s more of a rock racer, I was looking at this truck to, this type of Vehicle is used more for running Trails or just normal Crawling!?
I really like the Gen8 model from RedCat. I have 4 of them. The Orange first edition one , the Gen8 Axe edition, and the purple and green ones in the V2. I just installed the RedCat light kit for the Gen8 purple edition. It makes the truck really look cool. I’ll be adding the light kit on my 3 other Gen8’s
Better than your orange RGT? Definitely need to get a fix for the steering on the RGT though. Dead easy to fit the later RGT/FTX steering arms. Let me know if you're interested I'll send you some part numbers. Get nearly 45° steering angle then....brilliant
@@CCxRC any parts from the FTX Outback Hi-Rock will fit. They share axles and c hubs just different steering arms. These are the parts you need for mega steering:- Standard plastic arms FTX9278. Nice the green looks sweet! nice upgrades on the V2 version, Good family fun! what you learn from track tuning goes a long way in every type of RC off the track also.
Great brother, what deal for this rig. Literally the best crawler RTR anyone can buy for $300. Really it’s quite incredible and the Gen 8 is my all time favorite out of all crawlers to this point in time. Nice vid brother.
Looks like you had some great laps with the 22 5.0....my 4.0 was also real snappy on turns, so I kicked the servo speed and trow down...made it a lot smoother, and I just run asphalt, lol! The gen8 looks awesome for sure, I have driven a friends before and its a great rig right out of the box.
Gen 8 V2 looked like it did well on the course, green is nice. Had to look back at unboxing to make sure it had rock sliders, didn’t see them while it was. Carpet racing looked fun, good job one handing the transmitters.
Changes to the Gen8 V2 include heavy duty axles & portal gears, newly designed heavy duty axle housings, a flat skid plate, 25kg metal gear servo and updated body colors with clear windows.

I would love to not like that transmitter but every time one of my TQI transmitters reverses a function I think, huh never have this problem with my Redcat.

was going to say the same thing

can you use 3s and 2s lipo on it
I believe so. I run mine on 3s.
Awesome vid, might have to treat myself for the holidays with the purple one
Update: it’s on its way
What battery and Charger need
It’s a t-plug connector. Only needs a 2s LiPo because it’s a fast motor. I can link you later when I’m at a comojter
Wow what a cool indoor course!! Have a gen8 v2 on the way, looks like a fun rig 👌🏼

Fun Eva $300 rtr, it seems really nice

Sweet video I've been eyeballing the purple one to go with my gen 7 gen 8 and axe edition. Cool crawler course looked fun.
Very cool. This is my first Redcat crawler. It did really well for such a large body up top. Love the look of it though, so I plan to keep the body.
This would be great in the axe edition, I have the axe xerun 1800kv system in my scx10 iii and it’s so smooth
That’s a really smooth system. I have a 1200 kv one I love
