The Best Restaurant in Indonesia - Locavore is All About Local & Sustainable
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 бер 2023
- This is what a meal looks like at restaurant Locavore. When we visited Ubud in Bali, Locavore was ranked The Best Restaurant in Indonesia and no. 42 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. Chef Ray Adriansyah has created two unique menus - herbivore and locavore. Of course, we had to try them both! As the name implies, Locavore is all about using local Indonesian ingredients, and they even won an award for being the most sustainable restaurant in Asia. This summer, Locavore is closing its current venue and reopening as Locavore Next, in a new location just outside of Ubud. We can’t wait to revisit!

Nice to see plates without truffle and caviar everywhere
I agree. Not using those 2 ingredients separates the really good chefs from the truly great chefs.
They are tasty though.
@@acm1137it's not about, if it taste good.
The food looks wonderful with all the local ingredients. It is so refreshing to see no caviar or truffle on any dish as I feel some Michelin restaurants use caviar as an ‘easy way out’ when it comes to making their dishes look more high class in a lazy manner.
The food here is more than enough for 1 Michelin star in my book. I like to say 2 stars but we did not see enough of the restaurant overall environment in the video and we know 2-3 stars is all about the venue.
How much is the price?
It's so cheap. $95
Absolutely amazing! So much creativity with familiar ingredients used in a completely new way
Looks insanely good for the price and super unique in general.
Totally!

Do you leave full from these things?
Yup! Stuffed.
Talking about sustainability, how do you guys position yourselves on flights and co2 impact. Just curious, not a trick question
Unfortunately, it's hard to avoid flying in our job, but here's how we try to offset it: We always fly direct when possible. We take trains if that's a realistic alternative. And we don't own a car where we live - we walk, bike, or take public transportation instead.

I dont want 7,000 microdishes served over 36 hours, with endless tedious narrative - please, just give me a big serve of Nasi Goreng and homemade sambal
Then go to a restaurant that serves that? Imagine if I walked into a pizzeria and started yelling that I didn't want pizza, but burgers. What would you tell me?
