Great leadership group!!!! Getting a more in depth look as the fans to that inner sanctum yet again. To see the extended leadership group with the likes of LDU, Zurhaar and Sheils amoungst it shows there are more leaders besides those clearly labelled as our leadership group. Exceptional work and service by Larkey to be elevated as Vice-captain and just as equally exceptional by Sheezel. Couldn't be more prouder of this group. Scott for soldiering on and upwards as an absolute stalwart to our club and what we are about. Great stuff. And also for Corr to be undeterred and unbending in his commitment to the club and to come back into the fold of the leadership group.
Thrilled to see Bailey Scott get the recognition from his team mates. He is a highly skilled player, and a quiet achiever. This role may develop his leadership and add a new dimension to his play. Larkey deserves the recognition. Very happy to see Jy back in, hope he has a better year with no injury concerns. Sheezel is perfect for the leadership group - he has shown what can be achieved by young and skilled players, and his success will be an inspiration for others to emulate such as McKercher. However, I question LMac's co-captaincy. It is bad enough when LMac turns over the ball, but when he is captain and does it it really is disheartening. Aiden Corr is a second rate defender - BUT, he did show something late in the season in 2023. Perhaps he can develop into the defender we hoped for when we drafted him, and perhaps this role will help.
Love that Sheeze is in the leadership group.
Sheezel will be our next skipper
