So with the changes to the new map i thought i'd cover the top 10 new and old base spots on Ark Survival Ascended The Island. What do you guys think did i miss any?
The server I play on doesn't allow building in caves or resource-rich areas (so iceberg is out because of the oil, for example). If that's fairly common, my request is a video covering base spots that work with those rules? I didn't ever really play the Island because I got into the game around Gen 2, so I'm not super familiar with it yet.
Haven't played ark in years but first server was 323 ragnorock 2018. I purchased the game because earlier it looked like a game with tons of potential for the future. Then I found your channel and started to learn solo with you videos.
People cried and whined about them and literally in the discord people were crying for them back lol. They should make a Dino upload station that connects to the incubator and lore wise the cryos will be the mobile version
@2:50 your a goat for this single clip alone not because your showing how to mesh, well yes that but most people will say a spot is easily meshed without showing the ways (usually meaning they use the mesh method themselves and don’t want more people finding out) which is bad for the overall community since we know it can be meshed but not how and it also makes it harder for the devs to know what needs patching so thank you for bringing that to light
The 'small' pearl cave isn't very small for a solo on an unofficial server. With noclip on you can fit an entire tech setup in there, use chambers to block the entrance and build up all around the outside of it. Now, it's even better. I see a lot of ways to make those caves very hard to touch. At official rates it'd be hard to hold but if you coud get a squid to move your dinos you're fine.
Basils absolutely own all underwater caves. Pearl caves on island are especially easy since you're always you can keep your character in the mesh while in soaking range in basi.
By the way HOD, the Latitude & Longitude *is* off by 5 or so degrees like you said in your last stream. If you look at both maps, you'll see the lines are not in the same places.
I don't play pvp and/or official, but I'm really curious: how does anybody get tek if all the artifact caves are occupied by opposing tribes? I would have thought those would be off limits and blocked for building.
You trade, everyone need artifacts, so being in any artifact cave is a big advantage... People will either have to move into one, have good connections or get outprogressed.
Hod consider doing a vid on the console commands. They are so OP. Its literally INI on steroids. You can fully turn off water anytime and most textures. I dont think people understand how many players quit Ark ASE because of INI
I'd recommend that spot down south of south cave, as at the left of it after exiting the mini canyon you'll be greeted by Stonehenge and a nice building spot over to the left, with a nice metal spot over at the left of that two islands across. Beware of raptors! You can also get a rex or carno early in the game up north of the cave by the swamp.

I'd like to see what's changed for PVE spots as I don't do PVP and being a console player I can't look myself unfortunately. Hard to find time to play pvp. And pvp just not as fun if ur not fully invested. Me and my gf quit the game for this reason. I tryd pve but it gets boring real fast

The fact that mesh is still a factor on where you should build your base, is probably the most fucking disappointing thing in the world. So many years of the bullshit just for it to continue on on a whole new everything. This is the only reason why I’m truly reconsidering buying the game when it drops for console. Wildcard needs to get a grip
New idea for cryos potentially could be to make different size cryos that fit small medium and large dinos. have the medium and large cost a bit more and the medium and large cryos have a longer cryo time.
It's insane to me that people think they would.. How have so many people not realized it's just some beautification and a wipe, with new sparkling features to distract?
even with the teleporter the caves are going to be a liability for the tames and getting trapped in them. The tribe will have to have a teleporter out in the world and defended or at least hidden to get the tames in and out. Once that teleporter is taken out at the cave entrance the tribe will be mostly trapped inside defending from the inside only. If they manage to hide a teleporter some distance away as a back up it wouldn't be too hard to find it, just keep an eye out for the general direction of any tames coming to defend the cave entrance and you should be able to track down the teleporter. Give and takes with these caves. I just don't see how rat holes are worth anything now besides a foot hold starter base location. not having cryo pods you are limited to very small tames and only a few probably pteras.

Yea but keep in mind that since cryo pods and titans are temporarily gone people will build on land more often especially since there aren't many caves in ASA since there is only 1 map right now so most people will be building on open land.
I have a question regarding raiding so I understand you can place torrents almost anywhere my question is with no ammo boxes refilling turrets in weird spots might be tricky ? Maybe but other then that how do you truly Raid especially with saddle durability ? Curious

@@WowTeh showing locations is great... but a lot more goes into great base locations... if this was a guide and walk through of arks new caves that would be fine, but this was titled "top ten new base locations". A guide on base location should be more critical then 11 mins of "hey guys... caves"... I'm not trying to be a dick here, but simply walking around in every cave in the game and placing turrets doesn't equate to why the location is good other then control of a access point. What are the local resources? what are the average spawning predators of that location? On top of the fact that on every server I've been on... if someone has been dumb enough to placed themselves in one of the larger caves they're gonna get dug out as it the same as building at a obelisk or metal spawn... it kills a server and everyone hates those people.

So out of curiosity would a pearl underwater cave that has turrets on the dry part of the cave ceiling above the only surfacing spot of the cave be unraidable? The turrets would shoot you before you could see them while your still underwater right?

you need to do new dino abilities, like the dung beetle and oviraptor can now auto collect poop and eggs

Note on single pillar: There is an explorer's note on the north side blocking building on 99% of the Pillar.

You know anything about the Unetconnection error and if there is a fix can’t join any server, been days nothing from devs.
If maewings are available, can't you use them to get your tames into most of the small locations that you can not walk large tames into?
Unfortunately, maewings are not an island creature. And due to that, they will not be released until gen2, lost, or fjordur.

Place turrets everywhere in the cave. Or build on top of the cave but than u aare building dubble.

Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP
