Brava! Brava! The best explanation of inalare la voce l have come across. To me the sensation is simply that of correct support. I have found it hard to explain to students (l found it by accident and my teachers didnt kniw what l was talking about!) But l consider it the key to correct singing. The sensation makes everything fall into the right places! Thank you so much for this video.
Great Freya! I have watched this video several times , but Watching it again after seeing your latest online coaching session, it has more meaning for me now!
its an amazing technique which I have been working on for the past few months. I find as a baritone, the higher I go the more space and 'drinking' of my voice i need, as well as when I am descending into my lower register. It feels like a water wheel spinning on my soft palate lol
@@thefreyacaseymusic I said goodbye to pop music since i had discovered the beauty of bel canto singing in youtube. Italian classical songs were just great. It may be inappropriate to say this and i am not hating on any pop artist but i feel today's pop music (especially vocals) sucks. To much breathy, cracky, autotuned voices. Today popstars don't have that great texture and tone that singers used to have in the older days. It is a sad thing. That's why i said bring back bel canto. Please make more videos on bel canto techniques. sadly this old art is dying in popular culture. Thank you for this lesson though. I finally understand how to do 'Inhalare la voce' :-)
I can only do this when I first let all the air out and then sing while taking air in. reverse phonation or inhalare la voce? My example: ua-cam.com/video/DbdokLDr9bY/v-deo.html
When we're practicing inalare la voce, after inhaling and then maintaining an open throat, is it ok to have a little breath leak out as we vocalize? I tried doing this and my throat feels open as I sing but as I put my palm in front of and close to my mouth, I feel warmth. Is that ok and normal? To have a little bit of air coming out of our moth as we phonate on an open throat? Or must we really have no air leakage at all?
I'm attempting to feminise my voice currently and this is a game-changer!
