I only hate one thing about it: if you stop pedaling, the belt keeps going. I’m used to bike on my regular bike mounted on a friction type trainer, using zwift. Peloton doesn’t stop when you stop, you don’t get a rear hub-like ability to keep your legs still, momentum is going to unload on your knee if you don’t stop it from the red knob/brake
Great video! Very thorough. I have the same issues with the handle bars coming loose and I also wish you could move the handle bars front or back, just like most cycle studios have this option on their bikes. Hopefully Peloton will read or watch this videos and make these adjustments. I think as COVID ends and we see more people going back to gyms and cycle classes, they are going to have to do a great job at retention.
I love your videos! Thank you for doing them. I do have a question. I just ordered a Peloton+ bike after years and years of frustration with iFit that is on the Nordic track. so much so that I simply stopped using it for a year. Now I want to get back in shape after the pandemic. The one thing I liked about the Nordic track bike is the petals. They use a strap over the pedal method instead of locking a foot in. Given that I work out with other equipment and blend the bike in between my weight training in addition to using the classes having to lock in just doesn’t work for me. What petals would you recommend that would achieve a similar use to the Nordic track bike?
Funny your video has an ad for Peloton right before it starts :) -- I have the Peloton since early October and have never had the handle bars get loose yet. The pedals breaking are scary ! nice to see you here in the comments again Bill! wow, the weights actually fell on your foot!? we use spd pedals, its nice to be able to wear shoes you can walk and ride with and are easier to unclip.
Our bike was delivered on the date initially scheduled. We were lucky I guess. I do mostly scenic rides as I like to ride in silence, but the rides where you go off road are terrible. Even worse are the rides where the drone takes you up a flight of steps. Always give them a "thumbs down" rating.
not yet, have been considering buying it. almost bought the standard ac performance twice this week lol, just didn't get there quick enough, maybe soon!
I was able to fix the distracting seat-clicking sound on my S22i. I found that the space between the metal part containing the seat unit that attached to the bike in a notched metal channel causes the metal-on-metal clicking noise you unintentionally cause on the seat while riding. I unscrewed the front plastic cap (just one Phillips head screw) on the seat's sliding column and slid the seat assembly off the bike seat frame (metal channel). I took a 2-inch diameter round thin rubber washer (as thin as a typical small metal washer) that costs less than $0.50 cents at a local hardware store (you can use any thin rubber piece) and I cut the rubber washer in half. Next, I placed the two rubber washer halves into the metal channel on the bike with one at the rear end and one at the very front end of the bike's seat frame (in the metal channel). Then I carefully slide the seat assembly back onto the bike frame metal channel lifting it up so as to keep the rubber washer set in place in the metal channel. It took a bit of finagling it but I was able to slide the seat assembly back onto the bike frame assembly and the two rubber washer halves remained in the metal channel between the seat assembly and the bike seat frame (metal channel). This tightened up the extra space between the bike seat assembly and the bike frame metal channel and eliminated any metal-on-metal noise while riding the bike. I'm the only person in my household who rides the S22i so I'm not sure if sliding the seat back and forth to various seat positions for other riders will cause any problems but it definitely solved the problem for me. So about $0.50 cents and 10 minutes of time were well worth it.
Have the original and not got any issues. I find there is room on the handle bars to just adjust where your hand placement is. Nothing has come loose, though I agree the clip out of your shoes is tough.
We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

I've been very happy with my Bike + with the exception of the screws becoming lose over time. I've had to lighten up my grip while riding to correct that issue. I'm a newbie at Cycling so it took me a while to have the soft touch on the handle bars. LOL!!

I can't upgrade to the Bike+ if these are the issues that crop up based on this video alone - let alone the issues I've encountered.
I hate the music in general. In the scenic rides, the music is horrible. You cant even skip songs so if a bad song comes on you have to open the music menu and select a completely different station. Also the censorship is really weird. Some songs censor minor swears while others have full slurs in them 😂
Agree: - scenic rides are like an afterthought, just not nearly as good as they could be in many ways - lacking some handlebar adjustment Disagree: - pedals, mine are fine and now I prefer them to my SPD pedals on my road bike - delivery time is bc of Covid, not normal so I wouldn’t ding them on that. Plus everyone I know got their bike on time so it’s very much a regional problem - haven’t experienced handlebar wobbling but I have reg bike not plus, probably due to the heavier screen that’s farther away Ps You have the “old” style weight holders on your bike. The new ones are plastic and may function differently
Update - Getting the Stages SB20 bike. My NINTH swap comes tomorrow (May 4th). NINTH. All I have to say is - NOT MADE IN THE US or EUROPE. No quality. Made in China (or close thereto). Anything made in that region for fitness is terrible. Period.
Dude, what in the hell are you doing with the bike where your bike needs to be swapped out 9 times? I’m 248 pounds, 6 ft tall, muscular and ride everyday and haven’t had a single problem. I think this is a you problem and not the bike.
@@traderhines Riding it. Or how about this - deliver a frame that's of sound quality - like no warping. I have documented evidence and won my case without spending a dime on an attorney. Full refund.
@@theodoreboosalis I hear you but 9? 9 defective frames? Nah. The company really didn’t have a choice but to give to you your money back. I think they was tired of the astronomical complaints to be honest. That’s just mind blowing to me.

@@theodoreboosalis Where exactly did I embellish? Did you not say my “NINTH SWAP” is coming in tomorrow? Or did I read that incorrectly? Pelotons fall is not because of quality. Lastly, the weights falling out! Bahahaha worst list ever of absolute nitpicking. Sorry man but come-on. And as far as clipping in/out, just losen the damn bolt on the bottom of the pedal. Issue solved in less than a minute! I don't know see most all these as 'i really need to come up with a list for a video, can't just have a few things!'
Boggles my mind why anyone would buy a peloton when mag and direct drive trainers plus a real bike exist. Want training? Then pay for zwift/rouvy. Come spring/summer you have a real bike
I can’t believe you have to change resistance manually on an expensive Peloton bike when the trainers road cyclists use automatically change resistance and cost wildly less.

The cameras just sit there so not sure why they wouldn't use the best cameras money can buy. This is what they use: na.panasonic.com/us/audio-video-solutions/broadcast-cinema-pro-video/professional-ptz-cameras/aw-he130-full-hd-professional-ptz-camera
@@thehotdoglover interesting... thanks for sharing man!
I wish the screen could be used to watch other things on the internet.
If the number one thing isn’t the monthly payment then the video is wrong.
Why do you need 10 bikes?
All I know is I am getting my 7th Bike Swap (for the regular bike) I purchased 3 years ago. SEVENTH!!! I have to wait until early March but I've been told they plan to move that up since my account is so screwed up. Heavy user of the bike - I just don't think this bike was made to hold up or I keep getting lemons. I can verify my support account with them with anyone who needs it. I can't upgrade to the Bike+ if these are the issues that crop up based on this video alone - let alone the issues I've encountered.
4k would be pretty overkill for a bike tablet bro lol
I hate the music in general. In the scenic rides, the music is horrible. You cant even skip songs so if a bad song comes on you have to open the music menu and select a completely different station. Also the censorship is really weird. Some songs censor minor swears while others have full slurs in them 😂
Agree:
- scenic rides are like an afterthought, just not nearly as good as they could be in many ways
- lacking some handlebar adjustment
Disagree:
- pedals, mine are fine and now I prefer them to my SPD pedals on my road bike
- delivery time is bc of Covid, not normal so I wouldn’t ding them on that. Plus everyone I know got their bike on time so it’s very much a regional problem
- haven’t experienced handlebar wobbling but I have reg bike not plus, probably due to the heavier screen that’s farther away
Ps
You have the “old” style weight holders on your bike. The new ones are plastic and may function differently
4K? Come on man...it's not like we're watching Avengers: Endgame on the bike.
Not being delivered on time.
Hi TailHappyTV, can I have an exercise bike? I'm embarrassed to ride a bike in public because of my weight. I prefer to workout at home. Thank you.
Hate the wobbly handlebars.
@@traderhines You are embellishing. I've had five bikes that had bad frames - and in each instance I proved it to them. 2 of them were UNRIDEABLE dude. My Stages SC3 is a champion - no issues and I am very happy. So you are sadly mistaken. I have so much dirt on Peloton and based on their precipitous fall from grace - it's validation.
@@theodoreboosalis Where exactly did I embellish? Did you not say my “NINTH SWAP” is coming in tomorrow? Or did I read that incorrectly? Pelotons fall is not because of quality. You and I both know that so let’s not be disingenuous here. You are just too rough on the bike dude. You need a military grade bike because the Peloton obviously doesn’t work for you. Btw, how tall are you and what is your weight? You will have to be huge in order to damage nine bikes. Hell, Cam Newton is a Peloton fanatic and I don’t think he has this problem.
I got my bike within a week. Guess I got lucky
I just put my Rogue Echo bike in front the TV, much better
I don't know, only see 2 of those as actually being reasonable. The screen and the volume/music. Totally agree although the screen really isn't that bad. The music thing, yeah that sucks! The others, seriously, talk about trying to find something!🤣 First, as you said, by some damn lock tight, or just tighten when needed, really, wow. I guess you don't ride real bikes. Lead time to get a bike. Again.. reaching big time! Try ordering a real bike! Especially a mountain bike, try 6 months to over a year! Have you heard of the supply chain problems!
Could you do a review on the Costco, Inspire IC.5. There is literally one review on UA-cam! Please and 😊 Thank You
Do you see it in the store somewhere?
@@TailHappyTV It was in the warehouse but they were sold out so I had to order online. I’m hoping to receive it within a week.
Boggles my mind why anyone would buy a peloton when mag and direct drive trainers plus a real bike exist. Want training? Then pay for zwift/rouvy. Come spring/summer you have a real bike
Is anything perfect? No lol. If it had more pros and cons for YOU. Then go for it.
I can’t believe you have to change resistance manually on an expensive Peloton bike when the trainers road cyclists use automatically change resistance and cost wildly less.
There is an automatic option
I only waited 2 weeks
Could care less about the weights hitting ur bike ur dog is what I was worried about
i hate the commercials
what a piece of crap... lol
Of all the INCREDIBLE outdoor rides iFit offers (some of the most amazing scenery in the world) and you chose to feature a guy riding in traffic behind a bus??? That made me laugh. I LOVED my Nordic Track S22i for 3 weeks. Then it broke. Pathetic.
Lol, yeah, I could have done better but that's just what did for some reason lol! Sorry yours broke, hope they fix it soon..
Everyone getting lazier to go outside and exercise. Thank goodness I still go outside to a real location and exercise.
I think some of it is that your safer indoors. Some people would be killed on a road bike in traffic. And the family can use without the worry.
I ride out doors. But way people drive with faces on their phones....
