Finally you've entered Steps World. You'll never look back.
I Agree!
So true! I can't wait for this album! 🤩
@@Addydo it’s on Spotify it’s pretty good - full of great dance stuff and some slower ones .
Best album they have done IMO sooooo catchy
Claire has one of the biggest voices around in a pop group world. Great tune written by Sia.
Claire Richards is the one with the powerful voice who sings lead vocals in most of their songs she has an amazing voice. They all bring something great to the group love their sound when they all sing together. You should check out their other material! React to more steps please 😍 Claire also brought out a solo album last year in February called ‘my wildest dreams’ you should check that out also. 🙂
I went nuts the first time I heard this one and was soooo looking forward to the album and the rest of the album didn’t disappoint either !!! They always have a different dance for each song … it’s their trademark and they are always so sharp & on point ! Amazing !!! What a band !!!
Love you’ve just discovered Steps. Absolutely huge here in the UK. Cannot wait for the tour next year (COVID pending). Claire is an absolute powerhouse vocally, but this was so humbling to see each of them get a crack at the vocals, it’s not always the Claire show. You need to do the next single “Something in your eyes” - cover of a song, that was done back in 2011 by Jenny Silver entering for Melodifestivalen (Sweden song contest to pick their entry for Eurovision) - oh god you need to step into Eurovision world sometime lol. Back to Steps, you need to do either “Story of a heart”, “It’s the way you make me feel” or “Scared of the dark”
Steps is a very guilty pleasure! As far as other tracks of theirs go, I would definitely say you should listen to 'Scared of the Dark' which was their comeback single in 2017. In terms of their earlier stuff, I think you'd really like 'Summer of Love', 'Deeper Shade of Blue', 'You'll Be Sorry' and 'One for Sorrow'. May be worth noting that two members of the group (H & Claire) were a duet for a bit when the band split and did a monster track called 'All Out of Love' which is certainly worth a listen. Glad to hear you're going to be listening to Sophie Ellis-Bextor too and when you do, I'd suggest 'Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer)' and 'Bittersweet'.
Great Comment!
Yes to all of the above!
Oh yes I love Scared of the dark
They are just absolutely fantastic.. this song proves it 😊
They are HUGE in the UK - i'd recommend Last Thing On My Mind, Deeper Shade of Blue, Stomp, It's The Way You Make Me Feel, When I Said Goodbye, Here & Now/You'll Be Sorry (which was a double A side), Scared Of The Dark, Neon Blue and Dancing With A Broken Heart
Did you miss one for sorrow (original not us mix) 😐
And Tragedy, Chain Reaction..
@@Stepsflix I did - I only just realised!!
Love's got a hold on my heart and one for sorrow are my faves along with neon blue
This is a Sia song... Loves xx
Please react to Steps 'Something In Your Eyes', their brand new single. I know you love ABBA and this new song is very abbaesque. So catchy. I love it and I think you will live it too 😁
And story of a heart.. 7th heaven remix ♥️
Love that you're reacting to STEPS 😁😁😁 I knew you'd like them xx
They have been around for nearly 25 years i love them i am going to there arena tour next week.
Derek, if you watched and reviewed one of their live performances you’d be blown away. Their last tour was incredible. By the way, they are choreographed and most of their songs have a dance paired to the track - hence their name “Steps.”
You dont know how right you were about them being a choreographed group. You have many joys to come.
OMFG i died you saying there names 🤣🤣🤣 no shade it was just so funny.
One of my favorite bands is Steps since they first came out in 1997.
Steps and Sophie Ellis Bextor. British national treasures
How have I never heard of this group? OMG! I'm loving this song. Just read up on them. Any guesses on what I'm listening to tomorrow while working?
You have 6 studio albums worth of material to catch up on 😂🤣
Have a listen to Deeper Shade of Blue! You'll be blown away
Chain Reaction and their biggest hit, Tragedy! It was huge!
Listen to something in your eyes x
Something in your eyes is another step better
Oh dude, you did not just say the vocals were ok! Claire (the first one to sing) has one hell of a voice, but we'll let you off as it your time reacting to them, the name steps is because each of their singles have steps to learn, will most likely be claire hitting that the note you heard, just a few points, Lisa Scott Lee, Faye Tozer (pronounced Toe ser) and Ian "H" (pronounced Ean)
Steps are amazing and they're music is absurdly good! Glad you found them!
Great song!! Kylie just called she wants her choreographer back!!😎
Scared of the Dark is a great one. Claire Richards has a powerhouse vocal. They spent the first part of their career never singing live. Since they reunited they always sing live and sound great.
Discovered them only 2 years ago thanks to my then 5 yr old daughter. Now we are hooked!
Trust me, listen to their 90s stuff, they sound so different and powerful now. Any steps fan will know the 5,6,7,8 dance !!
Claire has a really powerful voice! They are fantastic in concert! Iv seen 9 of their concert's... Always a great show and a happy event!
Very 90's Eurodance vibe!! Thanks Dereck!
Steps having been going for more than 25 years. They are good, if not better, than they were. Love them x
Yes, Dereck, this band have always done simple choreography. They were never a band that did hardcore Dance Moves. The literally were called "Steps" because their first album had a booklet in the CD with very simple hand/dance moves for each song! It was designed for teenagers to learn the simple "steps" to each song and dance at home lol
Yes. They kept the moves simple so their fans would be able to dance with them. It’s part of their appeal and why they were still
Welcome after so many years away.
I think this is a fabulous single to launch their latest effort. For Steps, it’s a very polished sound that is true to their brand. Kudos. After their bitter breakup and hardships getting back together, they have quite successfully regrouped into a more grown up quintet and their music speaks for itself. I can only compare their new found success to that of Take That, the only other group I know that successfully relaunched their career. I sure hope Steps is here for a long haul run.
This song and video are so good! They nailed it with their comeback in 2017 ..... but this time around, it’s even better! They are sky high with this track! This is all what steps are about. Choreography, synchronized in every move .... and vocally very strong.
The 90’s in a 2020 version
Their last album was literally on repeat for 7 months. There was only 1 song I didnt care for but everything from "Tears on the Dancefloor" is a beat. And Sophie Ellis Bextor....OH GOD!! If you like Kylie you will definitely enjoy Sophie!! You're yet again, hitting on the artists that I live for.
Steps - Scared of the Dark...🤞
Been a fan of them since 1999-2000! I love this song so much!! ❤️❤️
They also did a cover of “I Know Him So Well” by ABBA. That version is soooo beautiful Derek. Please react to that one, anyway Steps are sooooo cool😎
Yes. That is the best ever version of I Know Him So Well.
Actually, "I Know His So Well" is NOT an ABBA song...it is however written by Bjorn and Benny from ABBA for the musical "Chess" but it was recorded by Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson....oddly it was included in the ABBAmania special back in the 90's, Steps also recorded "Story of a Heart" which was written by Benny and Bjorn as well...but only had been recorded'/performed by Benny Anderson and his band.
@@jay_ooh yeah True;-) but it feels sounds to me anyway like an abba song🙃
Steps are an amazing group. When they came out in the late 90s they were modelled on ABBA with an updated sound. They are incredible vocalists and have many songs that you will love because I know you love ABBA.
Please react to:
Scared of the Dark
Tragedy
Deeper Shade of Blue
It’s The Way You Make Me Feel
Story of a Heart
Summer of Love
One For Sorrow (very ABBA)
Stomp
Here and Now
Say You’ll Be Mine
They are an amazing group. Thank you for reacting to them ❤️❤️❤️
They are massive in the gay pubs and clubs in the UK, and the armography is intended to be relatively simple to do for everyone.
Please watch and listen to DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE and also SCARED OF THE DARK💙💙💙 by STEPS
Lisa Scott-Lee love how you said all their names tho 😂😂 steps have the best fans especially in the U.K.
Faye tazer and iron h Watkins 😂 bless him
@@PaulO-se6nl too cute 😂
They had 15 consecutive top 5 hits in the UK, have done 10 sell out tours, had 3 number 1 albums, and 4 albums in a row to sell 1 million copies. Dude. You are late to this party. Why not check out Neon Blue, 5678, Say You’ll Be Mine or After The Love Has Gone. Be warned, if you check out One For Sorrow you’ll love them forever.
Bahaha you were shown on H’s facebook video 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Welcome to the world of STEPS, if you haven't already, definitely go back and listen to their earlier stuff and you'll definitely love Sophie Ellis Bextor
This is the first time I've heard this group. It reminds of my party days in Europe where the dance music has this brightness to it like Alice DJ. I like it.
If you know steps you should know Girls Aloud 👀
You should listen to their song “Story Of A Heart (7th Heaven Radio Mix) Thos was written by Benny and Bjorn of ABBA.
And first released by the Benny Anderson band in Sweden
This song was written by Sia, who offered it to them!
Mate as a newbie. You totally got it steps as in dance. 90s masters of pop.
Steps deserve a lot more attention! Guilty pleasure of a lot of European young adults (90s kids). So thx for the reaction! The name Steps is chosen because every song they had, had dancesteps
If I may suggest something: you should react to Loïc Nottet - Million eyes (official videoclip). A young Belgium singer/songwriter. Thx up front!
Thay are absolutely superb 👏
While I am certainly pleased that you’re discovering Steps, I must advise that you have ALOT of catching up to do! The group is super massive in the UK and their discography is full of great dance-pop tunes. I’d suggest starting with their last album from 2017 “Tears on the Dancefloor”, particularly the singles “Scared of the Dark” and my personal fave “Neon Blue”, then step further back to their earlier albums.
You’re gonna really enjoy diving into the Steps world! :)
Steps does a great cover of Chain Reaction written by Barry Gibb of the BeeGee's originally done by Diana Ross.
Awesome Resction! I Love This Song & Music Video! Steps Are The Best! Thanks For Sharing! Take Care!
Goong to see them November at the O2 fir my birthday cannot wait!
Scared of the dark! Great song and video
I recently learned of this group with this song as well. Love this song and have been going into their past songs. They are very good.
They had some great ones. Scared of the Dark, Deeper Shade of Blue, When I Said Goodbye, Here and Now.
The one with the really strong vocals is Claire Richards. While they could all sing, Claire was generally the one who had the strongest voice.
Steps are their own Genre.
It makes me so happy you found Steps. They are called Steps because they are all about the choreography that you can learn and dance to in the club. You should definitely check out Deeper Shade of Blue, Tragedy, Stomp, It’s the Way you make me feel, and especially Summer of Love. All great songs and videos.
Love this song 🎶
Thank you for reacting to Steps. They are so very awesome. I love there songs.
I've Loved STEPS since the 90s here in America. I'm going to their tour next year in England. This album and Kylie's new album are going to save us all!
Great song written by Sia
Sia has done a demo of the song and it sounds similar
The words "Steps" and "okay" do not belong in the same sentence. Never. That aside, check out their songs like "Tragedy." "Love's Got a Hold on My Heart," "Deeper Shade of Blue" and "Scared of the Dark."
The new single after this song is absolutely brilliant.
Love steps Claire had a brilliant voice
I really Deeper Shade of Blue as one of their dancier tunes and a great video.
came here for steps, stayed for him dancing.... hot
Love to see more reactions to steps songs!!
Perfect cheesy pop. Its a shame they have never gone worldwide, perfect feel good group.
I love you Dereck and your amazing reaction videos but where have you been all these times!? :D Welcome to the fandom! :)
Steps was MAJOR in the 90s and now their success with the last 2 albums especially is mainly due to them sticking true to their DNA and Steps' sound, and never fitting in with the current radio.
Steps are the best! Please react to Heartbreak in this city featuring Michelle Visage and Father's eyes (a slower pulsating gem). The whole album is a banger! 👌🔥❤️
So steps are called steps because there moves are easy for their audience to learn and in their original album they had a guide on the dance moves. They talked about moving away from the 90s and said they wanted to be currently but people know them for their 90s so wanted to keep that in their new stuff. please react to "scared of the dark"
Love Steps. Check out ' the way you make me feel'. ,!
Eurodance realness! Love the energy and feel-good vibes of this music
Choreographed is a "light" word to use haha, Every single Steps song (with the exception of When I Said Goodbye) has a specific dance associated with the song....my fav is "Chain Reaction" they're kind of simple and mainly go along with the choruses!
the main vocal was Claire Richards. She released her own album last year. You should check that out.. very different sound to the band.
For a 90s Steps one try 'the way you make me feel', stomp or 'here and now'
This track was written by SIA
Steps 'one for sorrow" Steve Anderson studio version
This song is by far the standout for all of 020. Cahill killed the remix. FIRE
'youll be sorry" another great video and track
This is a wonderful song.....my favorites from STEPS are SOMETHING IN YOUR EYES and STORY OF A HEART
its claire with the amazing voice.......try uk popstar to operastar
Lisa Scott-Lee from Steps had success as a solo artist after Steps split . “Electric” was ahead of its time ua-cam.com/video/3RvO3MP5xwQ/v-deo.html and she released an album Never or Now - her style was along the lines of Kylie Minogue . I still listen to the album on Spotify ...it’s great .
Omg I thought I was the only one who cared so much for Lisa and Electric. It was way ahead of its time you're right. With songs like Wap in the charts it's sad that electric ended her career back then
Lmao NO... Just NO.
Loved never or Now - loved Electric and Boy on the Dance Floor
Back in time, lately was good. The rest was just awful.
Loved her album too! Had some wonderful tracks.
This song is written by Sia - please rect to her singing live - Alive at Graham Norton!
Please review their latest one "Something in your eyes".They did a cover of the Swedish singer .It's so good...
Steps have a lot of great songs but one you that would be good to react to is “Story Of A Heart” which is written by Benny & Bjorn from ABBA and first done by the Benny Anderson Band
Do Steps - Loves Got a Hold on My Heart and One For Sorrow live 2017 Wembley. You'll love Claires vocal
On their last album, they did a song called ‘Story Of A Heart’ written by ABBA’s Benny and Björn. Worth checking that one out for your love of all things ABBA.
Definitely listen to Im a Deeper Shade of Blue.
Steps amazing. Loved them since I was 18. Check out neon blue 7th heaven mix..
You'll like all their old catalogue of dance songs.
They made an interesting doco on how they essentially broke up in great acrimony.
They're called Steps, coz every video has dance steps to learn.
With the exception of When I Said Goodbye and Words Are Not Enough
@JohnSimpson36 very true. Heartbeat, also
You should review their new one, Something in your eyes. Also great!
Some of their best work is the covers they do of major artists sometimes less known tracks or Huge hits
Something in your Eyes by Jenny Silver
Story of a Heart by Benny Anderson
Better the Devil you know by Kylie
Chain Reaction by Diana Ross
Tragedy by The BeeGees
Last thing on my mind by Bananarama
Great to compare and contrast
Sia wrote this song and has even released the demo too
I saw you liked Abba so Steps are a natural add to the groups you love, you should react next to many of their hits, the next one I would recommend is Scared of the dark
Love Steps! Lee is my fav!
Derek, you have to react to Alison Moyet. She has had three of the best albums of late. The Turn, The Minutes and Other
I agree some thing in your eyes my number two song of this year only ahead was my song of the year Abba's dont shut me down
More Steps reaction please. Thanks.
Steps is amazing bro....you have have to check them out..Try Tragedy, their absolute best from 90s for a starter..
