What is your favourite piece performed by Daniil Trifonov?
I saw on UA-cam Daniil perform Scriabin's Piano Sonata No 3. Definitely my favorite!
This is the most difficult question as Daniil seals everything he plays! However, if I had to choose a piece, this would be Rachmaninoff's 3rd concerto or perhaps Schumann's Symphonic Etude No. 11...💖
Tchaikovsky
Deutsche Grammophon Liszt's transcendental etudes
Scriabin's 5th Sonata
J.Rhodes: I'm the best hipster pianist ever
Trifonov: hold my kombucha
In Berlin, hipsters drink a LOT of Mate though. Such a disgusting beverage.
I have been to a lot of places, still it amazes me how the people in my own home country seem to consume some of the most revolting liquids to be invented. Kombucha seems to me like most harmless one of them.
@Konstantin Ridaya I meant no offense against kombucha at all, I hope so much is clear.
kOMBUCHA/? Whats that?/
The best thing I've read on UA-cam all year. (01/10/2020)
@@maniak1768 as much as i agree (mate tasts like old wood with woodlice) maybe your word choice of 'revolting' just goes a bit too far. the message itself stands undisputed though
I wish Trifonov would record all of Scriabin's magnificent Etudes.
Let's all hope your dreams will come true.
He is really great. I really love how Sofronitsky plays this Etude too though.
@@deutschegrammophon ist das etwa eine andeutung? :)
Yeah
@@deutschegrammophon omg please let it happens
01:56 I love when the pianist accentuates the fury by hitting the A# one octave lower than what Scriabin put in the score! Very pertinent and powerful.
Sometimes I do that but is not in the score 👍
If i remember correctly that s how vladimir horowitz played it too
It’s not on the score. If Mr Scriabin is watching me play it, I would do it his way. It’s not mind nor I have no right to change it.
Dominique Balabat a slave of the notes with abysmal english
Ikr it sounds badass
Trifonov looking like Rasputin the Mad playing brilliantly as usual. 💘 What a truly exceptional performance and rendition of one of my favourite Scriabins.
Stay tuned for more videos from this truly exceptional set.
Not that Scriabin looked like a schoolboy, indeed.
Yes. Rasputin the Mad! Was surprising when I saw his expressions while playing. An extraordinary virtuoso!!
Just saw him yesterday with the Houston symphony, he performed Tchaikovsky’s piano concerto. I can’t even explain how beautiful it was to see him bare his soul with every note.
Oh and what did you see?
Was he dressed like a fast-food worker on the subway at the end of a long shift?
@@thomasmartin8362 he wasn’t dressed like that, but his hair certainly had that vibe haha
which Tchaikovsky? Guessing the 1st?
@@joshuaslater7858 yep it was the 1st, it’s been a few years but i still remember the mid section of the first movement, fire 🔥
I love the depth added by the middle lines starting at 0:54 and mainly at 1:03. It is not heard as well in most recordings, which is why Sultanov’s was my favorite because of how clearly well voiced it was, but it overpowered the main melody. The way Trifonov does it here is incredible because it is clear enough to be noticed but not overpowering the melody.
I didn't know Jessie Pinkman could play the piano.
LOL
씨발ㅋㅋ 존나똑같네
Shut. Up.

Lol
Trifonov learned new repertoire so quickly and with real quality! Real artistic integrity. I assume we’ll have a complete Scriabin Etudes Op 8, 42 and 65 disc to look forward to?
We should be so lucky
this piece are not really hard to learn, but he play it perfecly, with Heart
@@wawacool9147 Its not easy piece! The 3 first pages are difficlt really! And hard to perform it
Yes this piece isn’t on Silver Age?! so hopefully we get a complete Scriabin études record?
Really nice! I love that he doesn't rush away with it, so you can hear all the notes, all the curves and points of phrase. The repeated chords near the end are magnificent. Bravo!
I agree. This was just the right tempo to hear all the notes clearly.
I have to say I always favoured the intensity of Scriabin’s original recording of the piece but hearing it played with this level clarity and nuance from Trofonov is mesmerising. A phenomenal interpretation of a phenomenal étude.
Wow, this is so much clearer than other performances
What a monster! What a genius this wonderful Trifonov! Thank you!!!!!!
I think his perfect ability to seamlessly play all music nuances (from fortissimo to pianissimo) make Trifonov the best pianist we currently have and one of greatest pianists of all times.
He pours his soul into every note. He is amazing at conveying emotion through the music while also playing with flawless technique. It’s amazing how great he is at both. That’s why I think he’s the greatest of our time
very reminiscent of horowitz.
Nowhere near as good as Marc Andre hamelin and even berezovsky is better in liszt transcendentals
oh man , what a melody! Scriabine was indeed a genius musician
What a gift, to be able to play anything, easily and beautifully.
It’s hard work
It's physically demanding
Un uomo nato per suonare il pianoforte! Ha delle mani fantastiche che scivolano sui tasti come il vento! Prodigioso!
So refreshing to see him comfortably and casual.
This was the firt composition by Scriabin and it is still my favorite. You play it so masterfully. Thank you.
Refreshing. He gets that this isn't supposed to be a blazing fast piece quick sure , and the tripplete figured keep LH busy but overall it needs space to breathe which he gives it a chance to and that's rare these days w the younger class . Spot on execution
У Даниила очень хорошее представление о музыке, которую написал Скрябин. Это невероятно талантливый музыкант. Он знает, о чем играет, Браво!)
Wow, his posture looks so much more relaxed and comfortable than in other performances I've seen. I feel really happy about this for some reason 🙂. Great performance!
Incredible pianist! Incredible performance. Love the look!
Это ОЧЕНЬ круто! Редкое исполнение! Большое спасибо, Даниил!
His style of playing with a very open hand looks so comfortable and healthy. Very pleasant.
Danny is so grungy! Love it. (Smart marketing, actually.) And his performance is wonderful. Naturally. 👏🏻
When DG marketer decides it’s about time to win some Berlin hipster audience .. 😉 great playing though
True😂
Beck is up next lol
Haha. I nevertheless reckon it’s laudable to go beyond standards and explore even the most frivolous details (like the clothes you wear) to expand their audience.
Nothing to do with this. Trifonov is such a wonderful pianist that I cannot believe you don’t realize how good he is.
Amazing pianist Trifonov and amazing piece!!!!
This is simply incredible. Both the piece as well as the playing. Amazing!!!
Потрясающая игра! Потрясающее качество записи!!!
Outstanding performance!
Amazing, bravo mister Trifonov! 🙏💜
Блистательное исполнение! Браво!!!
absolutely wonderful, no words
Que maravilha !!! Bravo !
one of the best interpretations of scriabins 8/12 i ever heard.
I agree I really he accentuates the melodic parts but also hits the angry more "percussive" parts with fury
I loved it!!!! beautifully played!
Wow!! Amazing!!
Dramatic.. Bravo 👍
beautiful interpretation!
Браво, Даниил
I so loved that performance. Thank you for inspiring me 😊
Fantastica esecuzione
Браво❤
You're so good. It's great,It's the best, I love Skryabin. And Daniil Trifonov is a passionate Pianist.
Виртуоз. Музыка прекрасна.
Breathtaking!
Amazing! To play like this having such an horrendous headache...
Perfect.
I saw him last week at Carnegie Hall. It was my fifth time seeing him. He is too good. No one else I'd rather hear play.
Very,very nice.
I'd love to hear him play some of Scriabin's later stuff... Maybe the op. 74 preludes or the 10th and 8th Sonatas, since his interpretation of the 5th it's undoubtedly one of the best ever.
We'll let him know!
Yesss, you are so right! Some of us his admirers have been begging him for quite a long time to do so.Time will come...I just hope I'll live long enough to hear those performances...
@@visnjadugi7122 one of my final dreams is to record them myself =)
Maravilloso!!👏💞
Spetacular! 👏👏👏👏
Powerful Passion - but with Sensitivity playd Love it very much !
Cool Look ! 💐💐💐
Гениальное исполнение. Спасибо, Даниил Олегович.🎉🎉🎉
Bravissimo!!
Interesting the ending. Great!
My goodness I was literally just looking for a video of him playing this
Прекрасно.
Just perfect cocktail: deep, wild and fabulous!
When I started to build a vinyl collection back in the late 70's there were a number of estblished greats to choose from, playing this work. I went for Lazar Berman, and tho not quite up there with Horovitz and his shading, felt a strong interpretation. Trifonov in this performance is really special, I feel. A great interpreter of other works too. He and Nikolai Lugansky really capture something special, amongst the so many other fine performers of today
So cool with this outfit and pro piano
¡Excelente!
Obrigado pela excelência do tema e interpretação. Fica na fronteira do génio humano.
Bravissimo!!!
OMG~U AMAZING❤
So clear
The second part is incredibly well done
Замечательно!!!
REALMENTE MARAVILLOSO!!!
He has a great sense of feeling boiling over.
He is a crazy Russian pianist.
Now he dresses like a crazy Russian
A crazy russian beggar
yes....this homeless pianist fad is gaining traction. Rondeau, Tao, now Trifonov
it suits the venue he's playing in ... plus these kind of looks are a form of XXIst century dandyism.
@@238assante whatsoever. What is next? Sweatpants? You eont wear a tie at the gym you wont dress like a beggar ina classical music concert. Its not appropriate
@@238assante and i also forgot! In many countries to wear a hat when you are with someone and in a closed space its seen as a lack of respect and its considered very rude
I love the Scott Ross cosplay ❤️
No words!!!!!!!
COOL
This piece gives me the biggest sense of impending doom I have ever got from any piece of music. Ever.
Trifonov you are truly man of exceptional skill to do this piece the justice it deserves.
We'll here's a contemperary, and informally relaxed look. Maestro Trifinov sportin' the lumberjack look. That's a cool contrast man....such that is met with the juxtaposition of a masterful rendering of Scriabin's stately Etude opus 42. ..Otlichnaya rabota!!!!!!
The Boss no more. 🔥
Scriabin é um grande compositor. Pouco tocado aqui no Brasil.
i love the way that he stands at the end. Like "suck it scriabin !"
отличное исполнение ! и так близко к инструменту
BRAVO
Děkuji Vám 🤍🕊️
I was out of breath throughout the piece. I think this was the intention of Scriabin. Very very great performance.
Love him and his Raskolnikov eleganza
Best comment ever!
Never heard this piece. By the mad Russian Scriabin. Played wildly by the young Russian Trifinov. Love it.
Супер пианист!! Высшего класса!! Высший пилотаж!! Просто Даниил ❤! Просто Гений!!!
Bello!
May not be his best recording but this is new repertoire for him. Those who compare 80 year old Horowitz (who has played this his entire life) with him doesn't know a thing about being a pianist. Preparing new repertoire while playing hundreds of concerts and travelling is NOT easy. Last week he played the Op.42 etudes in Wigmore Hall wonderfully.
I wish Trifonov would record all of Scriabin's magnificent Etudes. He is perfect!!!!!
Yes danil very much yes
His face at the end says it all.
Un génie il fait corp avec son instrument c est un réeĺ bonheur de l écouter
Вау,шедевр!
Maravilloso
Grande prova
Love trifonov
