[Al-Quran, Surah al-Maidah, Verse 109 - 120 of 120, The Dialogue / Conversation Between Allah & Jesus (Prophet Jesus/'Isa, Peace Be Upon Him) On The Day Of Judgement]
      109. [Be warned of] the Day when Allah will assemble the messengers and say, "What was the response you received?" They will say, "We have no knowledge. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen"
      110. [The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic."
      111. And [remember] when I inspired to the disciples, "Believe in Me and in My messenger Jesus." They said, "We have believed, so bear witness that indeed we are Muslims [in submission to Allah]."
      112. [And remember] when the disciples said, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, can your Lord send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven? [Jesus] said," Fear Allah, if you should be believers."
      113. They said, "We wish to eat from it and let our hearts be reassured and know that you have been truthful to us and be among its witnesses."
      114. Said Jesus, the son of Mary, "O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers."
      115. Allah said, "Indeed, I will sent it down to you, but whoever disbelieves afterwards from among you - then indeed will I punish him with a punishment by which I have not punished anyone among the worlds."
      116. And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.
      117. I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.
      118. If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
      119. Allah will say, "This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness." For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment.
      120. To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is within them. And He is over all things competent.

      [Al-Quran, Surah al-Maidah]
      72. They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
      73. They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God [Allah]. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.
      74. So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
      75. The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger (prophet); [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
      76. Say, "Do you worship besides Allah that which holds for you no [power of] harm or benefit while it is Allah who is the Hearing, the Knowing?"

@@DanSung2021 In terms of reading the Bible, I would start at the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) and the book of Acts to see the essentials of Christianity. Along with the scriptures, I would also look into apologetics videos. These types of videos pair the Bible with historically backed research. More importantly, ask God himself! The fact that you asked this question is a testament to God not being far from you. In fact, he is near. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus says that with God, all things are possible. ✝

It’s easy to convert out when you know little. Before you throw away a life time commitment, take some accountability and understand Papal authority and justification. If you are considering converting just for the aesthetics, join an eastern Catholic Church so you are at least in communion with the Church Christ established.

Surah an-Nisa'171 O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Ruh) created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: "Three (trinity)!" Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is All-Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs.

You are either a liar or an ignorant person. I dare you to come up with a text from the Qur'an that says that Jesus lied and offered someone else to be crucified. God said in the Qur'an:That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:Al-Mā’idah157.
Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allah is the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary). Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Who then has the least power against Allah, if He were to destroy the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), his mother, and all those who are on the earth together?" And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills. And Allah is Able to do all thingsAl-Mā’idah17
Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. @Kyle Unfortunately not. The nearest orthodox church in my country is 30 minutes to an hour away, and my dad and I are very catholic, culturally and religiously. I have bought "the orthodox church" by Timothy Ware, the jordanville prayer book and an orthodox study bible. I haven't told my dad that I intend to convert, but I have asked him what he thinks about orthodoxy. I think it would be very hard to convince him. Guess you could say he's a Matthew 16.18 enjoyer lol. Thank you and God bless☦️☦️☦️

Really good video Kyle! After seeing your video pop up on my recommendation feed of critiquing mike winger maybe 2 or 3 months ago I heard you mention Jay Dyer and the unbeatable Tag argument and it seems you’ve sent me down a giant Jay Dyer/Orthodoxy rabbit hole. This video was really well timed as I’m trying to formulate in my head Christianity that’s not shallow or just “feel good” Protestantism which is what my family sort of comes from, but what the true expression of the Faith Christ gave us. For most of my life up until the past 6 months I’ve felt like I’ve clung on to faith in Jesus and in God in general without any deeper reason or set of facts to account and justify it, shuttering at opportunities to talk about the gospel or just engage with others about God, if he exists, who is he, etc. But listening to you and Jay and some of the other Orthobros (I know most of y’all hate the term but I know no other name to give it) I’ve heard some extremely well researched arguments and ideas to sink my teeth into and get a better grasp of what it is I’d committing to proclaiming and living as to what I think the deepest truth human beings can know(that is a personal God)
Today I have an appointment to talk to Father Andreas at St Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church in Charlotte NC to discuss the church, and becoming a catechumen, so I have many more milestones on this journey to hit but nonetheless I think the Lord has in some way answered many desperate prayers and cry’s for help, not only in getting a glimpse of Orthodoxy and the sheer depth but in discovering the Orthodox UA-cam community through your UA-cam channel!

This is because I don't want to spend my life doing something that is not purposeful, and if God exists, then this will help me with my decisions :) I don't know where to start, however. @@DanSung2021 I'll try, I Grew up in an evangelical non denominational christian house hold, went through the megachurches, and before covid happened more than anything else I was (or God was) laying the ground work for a major spiritual shift I went through after being in a rock and living with musicians.
I was then self confessed lukewarm christian at the time which is one of the most useless kind. Christ himself says "You are Lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth"
2022 I had a sort of faith crisis which led me to confront a lot of difficult issues I had been suppressing for a long time out of laziness and fear of having my foundation for understanding myself and the world around me over turned. I was forced to examine closer the reasons I was a Christian and why I believed what I did.
two avoid rattling anymore about my life experience, lets just say I was a follower but didn't necessarily bother with digging deeper intellectually with things that didn't have much of an impact on my day to day,. or care too much about that I knew and felt to be wrong or misguided of myself
      WHY AM I A CHRISTIAN?
Partly because I was raised to be. My mother always use to tell me "Love God and have Self control" which she pound into my head and at times seemed like a cop out or just a behavior control mechanism.
But, as a now Baptized and professing Orthodox Christian in good standing with my church. There are far deeper reasons which pertain to many things, faith, hope and love. St Paul in his epistle to the hebrews, calls faith " The Assurance of the things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen."
Ultimately, I, like you, want some assurance that all of life isn't meaningless or bothering to care too much about what happens now is a waste of time, And the Orthodox Church showed me the path to the fullness of meaning, that narrow is the path that leads to eternal life (Matthew 7:14), and at the end of that path Is The Way, The Truth and The Life (John 14:6)
Anyway, I hope that at least explains myself a little bit. As far as books and videos are concerned, idk what you mean by "prove to me" whether you mean how these resources proves my faith to you, or if you meant things that prove Orthodox Christianity to you.

According to that definition of theosis, I agree with it, earlier explanations on this channel sounded very mormon (which is of course false). Now the Lutheran position of sola fide doesn't assert salvation through faith alone, but rather justification through the faith we receive at baptism. Our works can't merit salvation because they don't please God, but his finished work on the cross received in true faith (one can't truly believe in something and yet not act like it) thus if you claim to have faith and have no works it amounts to nothing. The reason why traditional protestants think like this is because they were combating roman catholic error over relics and having to confess every single sin to get to heaven along with buying your way out of purgatory.

When we talk about the Eastern Orthodox Church, we are actually referring to the Patriarchate of Constantinople. As a Roman Catholic, I have one issue with the E.Orthodox Church: there was no Patriarchate of Constantinople before Constantine the Great moved to Constantinople in the 4th century, which means there was no Eastern Orthodox Church before the 4th century. The original patriarchates were Rome, Alexandria, and Antioch; Constantinople became a major patriarchate only because of Emperor Constantine I.
Additionally, since you quoted St. Irenaeus, he was always referring to the Church in Rome (Roman Catholic Church) and the bishops of Rome [Against Heresies III, chapter 3.3], not the Eastern Orthodox Church, which did not exist at the time of St. Irenaeus.
Papal Supremacy was present in the Early Church; Pope Victor I excommunicated the bishops of Asia Minor for celebrating Easter on a separate date from the rest of the Church, and St. Irenaeus was the one who helped to resolve the issue, according to Eusebius of Caesarea [Church History 5:23:1].
This is why I can't agree that the E.Orthodox Church is the true church founded by Jesus. The Eastern Orthodox Church, however, continues all ancient Christian traditions without changing them, and I have great respect for it.

22:45 What do you mean that the Church and State were one in the west? They were constantly fighting for who was ultimately in charge of secular power, Pope or Emperor. I am trying to learn more about the Orthodox faith, and the part of the video which talked about iconography confused me when you mentioned: "Not the piece of wood but the person in it." Also, why do people pray Infront of icons and prostate these images? (I understand that you quote from 2 kings) But in a lot of your other videos you state that we're not under the old covenant. If you or someone else could help clarify my curiosity on iconography it would be a great help. Thank you. (Please understand I am not criticizing Orthodoxy but simply trying to open my mind and learn more.)

@@Establishing_TruthIf that's the case, you should reach out to the nearest parishes and jurisdictions and express your interest. And they may have a mission parish that is not listed yet. Or they will open one nearby you which is quite often. Don't despair and simply continue to explore orthodoxy. It can be a little bit daunting at first. But I think if you pursue it, you will find a lot of edification. We have one guy who had no parishes in his entire country. And now he goes twice a month due to a priest who travels back-and-forth between 2 countries.

great video, i truly admire your zeal in both the work you put into these videos as well as replying to pretty much every comment here.
the only real problem i heard in this video is that at 23:16, you say the orthodox church still uses the julian calendar. that is true for several of the sees, but several others switched last century to the revised julian calendar, which is inspired by the gregorian calendar. admittedly i don't have much knowledge in this area, but it doesn't seem important to me whether we accept a pagan calendar or a schismatic calendar, though of course the gregorian calendar is much more accurate astronomically speaking.

Hey there, I hope you doing well :) Is it ok if i ask you for some help? :) i'am struggling with deciding what it is that i want to do with my life, and so, I want to find out if Christianity (or an other religion) is the "true religion". This is because I don't want to spend my life doing something that is not purposeful, and if God exists, then this will help me with my decisions :) I don't know where to start, however. Can you tell me what made you want to be a christain, and why you have become one, and which sorts of videos or maybe even a book, that could actually "prove" this to me? Thank you, have a great day

I don’t exactly align with Catholicism, Protestantism, or Orthodoxy. But I would say I have been very very intrigued in the Orthodox Church. Orthodox Christians seem to be very intelligent in the Faith and know what they’re talking about and I love that. But most importantly, I see the zealously for Christ in the Orthodox Church and that is what is making me consider converting. It’s beautiful.

Find a Orthodox church, speak with the priest about wanting to convert, then you will go through a catechism/time of learning the faith, and eventually you would have a discussion with your priest about officially joining the church through Chrismation or baptism. For a while you would be a catechumen which I someone who is learning before joining the church. So express that you would like to become a catechumen.

You are confused due to your possibly selective approach to the Bible. You should collect ALL verses talking about the salvation and not just those that allegedly support your doctrine and you neglect the others. Once you collect them ALL, make sure your doctrine is compliant with ALL of them. That is the way to go. Do not forget (Philippians 2, 12) "...WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION with fear and trembling..."

Verse just says we have are saved by faith.. other verses say works... Other verses say NOT by works alone and NOT by faith alone
      James 2:14
What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?
      James 2:17
Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
      James 2:26
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
      James 2:20
But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?
      James 2:18
But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
      James 2:22
      You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;

Very strange. 1:03 "Jesus ordains the apostles as bishops". You've glossed over this, but it is incorrect.
