- The Grateful Dead embark once more on a perfect early 70's Dark Star in Williamsburg Virginia, on the 11th September 1973.
The Jam concludes with a bombing epic bass solo from Phil before gracefully sliding into Morning Dew.

I do not claim any ownership over the music or images used in the video, nor do intend to make financial gain from its creation.
Psychedelic jazz at its best. This performance cooks so hard. Billy is amazing.
I have the soundboard copy of this show and a bunch of other soundboard September 73 shows. September 73 was a great run in Dead history for sure.
The ever elusive sounboard. We had to listen to the best somebody could do at the time for many years. This shed's light onto the ever elusive show that was built up to ba all it it seems to be. Thanks be to technology and LONG LIVE THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!!!!
Billy K lead blocking for the train ......what poppin' and boppin".....crazy subtle thunder
Beautiful graphics accompanying this exploration of cosmic plasma, Dark Star
best ever dark star
It certainly is a nice one: doesnt go all horror-movie on ya like some of the less agreeable Stars can..Nice melodic pre-verse jam ,and giant bass notes towards the end..11/11/73 Winteland is my pick of the 73 Dark Stars ,transcendant, gentle magic :-)
73 was a rad year all around.
Ah yes
This is my favorite Dark Star probably - but I would have sworn when I've heard it before they didn't do the second verse - did I hear a clipped version or is there a patch or did I hallucinate it away??
Man, it just goes to show, ya don't ever know‼ I've heard internet versions of shows aud/sbd/matrix etc. Some of em don't sound quite the same as my old tape collection versions of the same shows. Or I was way too tripped out and wasn't even thinking on the significance of what I was in possession of to be able to appreciate it. Thank the good gods there's, at least for now, access to a lot of the music which made that beautiful scene that was a Dead show and/or the parking lot and camping community it was. A real thing of beauty I'm so blessed to have been a part of.🐢🎸🌹🎶🎹💖🍄🎵
