Feel Special is such a beautiful song especially when Jihyo takes the center (15:36 and 16:23). Her voice really elevates the song and makes it even better. And yes, it's a very meaningful song to them because it was released when Mina took a hiatus in order to treat her anxiety and depression (but she still managed to be in the MV). One of Twice's best titles for sure.

Feel Special was written by JYP , and he based it off of conversations he had with each of the members. All nine members have lines in the song that can be drawn back to their own personal struggles. 2019 was an especially rough year as the world threw unnecessary and ignorant hatred at the girls. All the girls were struggling mentally and emotionally, but Sana‘s situation caught JYP’s attention the most. Sana is the definition of sunshine, a ball of bubbly energy that never fails to brighten up everyone’s day. But after experiencing wave upon wave of negativity and hatred in 2019, it was only natural that there was a time when her smile lost some of its shine.However, the rest of TWICE were constantly by her side, reminding her of how precious she was and showering her with love. Seeing their sisterhood, JYP was inspired to write “Feel Special” to capture the depth of their love for each other. "During that time, Sana was going through a hard time, and I saw how the members helped her and that touched me. I wrote the song about their friendship. " - JYP After finishing the lyrics, he also wrote them down to give to Sana so that whenever she was facing difficulty, she could draw strength from the lyrics and be reminded of the people who always had her back. " After I finished the song, I wrote the lyrics on a paper, got it framed and gave it to Sana. " - JYP
Happy Happy and Breakthrough were actually released on the same day as a double track release. They wanted to showcase their duality by emphasizing how the same set can be used in both a cute and sexy concept. It was a perfect time to highlight their versatility because they were slowly breaking away from their cute image at the time (2019) with their release of Fancy as well as Feel Special eventually at the latter half of the year. Breakthrough in particular was incredibly shocking at the time because they haven't released any singles like it at the time.
I somehow feel like the management took it as a way of voting. Like they used the double release to see which direction TWICE should go. If Happy Happy garnered more views than Breakthrough, I feel like TWICE would still be in their cute concept until now 😂
tbh watch Twice change their concept slowly was such a great experience, I'm glad i could see this happen!!! fancy is a BOP!!!! one of my fav Twice title track and also one of their best choreos
For the next set of Twice MVs, please include the Cry For Me Choreography 2 video (released after BETTER and before KURA KURA). Cry For Me is a single from Twice that doesn't have an actual music video. Cry For Me is a fan favorite, and the Choreography 2 video is considered as the music video. It kind of sucks that there is no music video. Also, Jeongyeon isn't in the Choreography video because she was on hiatus at the time.

Also, the camerawork during Jeongyeon's parts makes it seem like other members are supposed to be singing. I used to prefer this performance over the dance video until I compared the camerawork.

for me, for TWICE, need to listen to their b-sides. their first 3 EP. defined their music till now, with 'the story begins', 'page two', 'TWICEcoaster' defined as, not just book by cover(title track), experimental(they did some blue&rock elements in their first EP), and have fun like a roller coaster. in 'fancy you' EP. ('fancy' as title track) they did psychedelic (60s) but not just re-visit the genre but also re-branding the genre from hallucination(by drug) to something seem impossible to possible. have a good day. :)
All these songs have meaning to much to list here I'll just say two things Twice is huge in Japan because they respect Jpop rules and so their Japanese songs are different and I love them for the differences. Second today nobody cares that very young girls are put on stage dressed and doing concepts that are to old for them to be doing. Twice respected their minors and protected them with cute fun and happy songs and concepts in 2019 when the maknae line were all of age they came out with Fancy and Feel Special and the corresponding albums with more adult concepts I still find that not just refreshing but something pure that is lost in 4th and especially 5th gen groups with Kpop companies bringing out groups with only one adult on them. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).
