after reading about the inspiration to this song, it's too bad the old black guy at the gas station had no idea Joni wrote a song inspired by him singing to her. she was in a hurry, yet standing still as he sang, but ended up appreciating a beautiful moment that was fulfilled. Rickie Lee Jones once said "You never know when you're making a memory..." and so it was.
Joni’s most underrated album a masterpiece
EPIC !!! Nobody is like Joni !!!! One of a kind !!! She is a treasure for sure !!
Another wonderful hidden gem from Joni , i guess the amazing lyrics , like many of her songs , are based on observations from her bohemian counterculture and hedonistic lifestyle at the time travelling around the world. She creates an incredible image of people and places , in this case she seems to be searching for the simple things in life that really matter rather than any deeper meaning or the superficial feeling of success through material possessions. Best played outdoors with close friends on a balmy summer night !
Poetry sung to music.Magical.
Roses is an Amazing album
One of my favorite songs of hers - sheer genius.
It is one great invitation into the music.
Love this album!!!
Bought in the day....none of it dates 🤗
Bought the album back in the day, all of the songs bring back memories from a time gone by.😢Sad to say that we age…this song is still fresh and has the essence of frolic and love. As a young man in an old body I still love this song.😊
and you want to get moving and you want to stay still
This song always lifts my mood
the hook never fails to make me emotional
Just like...nat...❤
Three waitresses all wearing
Really pretty. I thought visiting British Columbia, would be like this song, b/c my dad’s parents were Canadian’s, & it sort of was, but i am such an idealist, & at the border, they wanted to unpack my car, to look for ‘Fire Arms’ !!! lol, i talked them out of it somehow, lol 💜✨🌎✌️
i got married on a spot like the album cover lake Tahoe
Gotta grab some breakfast then fill up the tank.
