I learned how to do this 55 years ago in school for Halloween lanterns. The only difference was that we folded the outside paper in half to cut the strips. unfortunately that left a crease. But if you used a longer piece of paper for the center tube you could put 2 of the outer papers in a stack. Lovely work!

Please use paper cutting knife for the craft. You can't properly cut by using scissors. If you folding the paper as half and cut with scissors, it will affect the beauty of the lantern.
