Claudrena Harold: Gospel Music and the Politics of Freedom in the Soul and Hip-Hop Eras

2024 Geddes W. Hanson Lecture | October 23 at 5 p.m.
Dr. Harold will trace the evolution of gospel music while considering how it has responded to pressing social issues, including poverty, racial inequality, the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and political corruption.
The event will also feature a short interview and Q&A moderated by Dr. Wallace Best, Professor of Religion and African American Studies at Princeton University.
