HELLO, THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEO WHICH IS VERY USEFUL. I BOUGHT A USED MITSUBIHI XL5U PROYECTOR BUT IT HAS NO REMOTE CONTROL AND IT I DONT KNOW IF IT HAS A PASSWORD, IF IT HAS ONE, IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO MAKE IT WORK ? THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO I FOUND OUT THAT THE LIGHT BULB HAS 498 HOURS OF USE.. THANKS A LOT.
do you recommend me this projector with the HDMI adapter I want to use an Android box connected through the HDMI adapter VGA I was also wondering if I could get a USB adapter for many other things I heard you could use a VCR as a TV tuner connected to the video cables white red and yellow cables nice to know you uploaded this video yesterday was shocked I thought it was a very old video you rock sir
This projector is an "ok" projector. It is better for a conference room or business use. It is not supporting 1080p natively. Its not a bad projector, but it is older. For your uses, I would something a little newer. Something like the Mitsubishi HC5500. You can find them around $100 on eBay. Another suggestion is the Powerlite 8350 by Epson. I would look around eBay to see if you can find a projector with resolution at 1920 x 1080. That will guarantee you at least HD quality. You can watch TV via a projector. I have a tivo DVR that feeds a projector as well as a Chromecast. I use HDMI to get good image quality but you can get away with using the RCA (yellow video) but the video will not be as good. I hope this is helpful!
FixitFrank you rock sir I definitely understand this is a way way older projector as I was wondering the same and thought there was no way of getting 1080p in this projector I'm about to go check out the ones you mentioned thank you so so much for the heads up
Hello, thanks for this video, I have an old Mitsubishi XD3200U, I'm having some issues, the projector turn on, but the status keep flashing in green, then once the status button is solid green the project is turning off, I already reset the lamp timer to 0, I already checked that on the info menu bu the projector is still shutting off, maybe 2 minutes after I press the power button. any advice?
Xander Cage good idea. Feel free to pm me too if you have questions. These lamps are a bit of a pain to remove. Ill make a replacement video in the next day or so
I think I made my decision I think I want the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 Projector now where could I find the best price it doesn't matter if it's used or refurbished
Nice video! If this fixes my problem I have a free projector! Can't wait to try... Sadly don't have a power cord atm, but that'll be easily remedied...
I like them both. In the Past LCD offered higher lumens but lower contrast. DLP offered higher contrast with less lumens. These days(after 2012 really) they are pretty equal. They each have their pros and cons. That said, I thin DLP is still slightly better as there are no projection polarizers to fail. My Panasonic Polarizer video shows that failure. DLP does have a color wheel to worry about but those are readily available and easy to change. At the end of the day though, the money you spend is the most important part and I think you get a better value from used projectors when you purchase DLP. Either will look good for you though. If you find one you like, let me know the model and I can tell you my opinion. ProjectorCentral.com is also a good place to get specific model info. Glad to help! -Frank
FixitFrank bro I seriously love how you explain everything with detail thanks cuz I'm new to all of this I'm still about to search again I had to get busy I've seen some with very high contrast ratio but lower lumens and some with higher lumens and lower contrast ratio which is kind of confusing SMH
check your resolution settings. Also check the screen mirroring function. If its windows, press the windows key + "K" It should then show the connected devices. If its a mac I am not sure.
Mine’s a BenQ W1070, doesn’t project anything after replacing a new bulb. Lamp button is red. I don’t know the button key combination to reset the timer, I heard there’s a way to reset it like that, any ideas?
Hello! Is your lamp light flashing or is it lit solid? Solid may mean something with the lamp. Make sure it's an Osram or Philips bulb in the lamp. Are the other LEDs doing anything when you press power? Carefully re-seat the lamp door with the power cord out. See if that makes any difference This model does not have a shut-down lamp timer. It can only be reset via the OSD, which needs the lamp. Most BenQ's let the lamps run until they pop. They will remind you to reset it though.
Good point! This is why I usually recommend buying a projector expecting the lamp to be bad. Granted most people will not try and lie about this and if you really are concerned, there is a service menu with the total projector run time but as you indicate, it is good to be aware of possible issues you might run into. Thanks for your comment!
Hello Katrina! What are you wondering? I am familiar with the WL7200. It's fairly new and uses a very high powered lamp. Are you having an issue with it?
FixitFrank . Just having an issue with the lamp I think. I will have to exchange the lamp, since I’m a big diy person, although there are no videos on this particular projector. Wl7200u blinks 3 times on the status light after it powers up and then it turns red. When turned on the unit will light but not project. Hopefully this is a good enough description to give you an idea of what the problem actually maybe. Tia
@@katmartin6447 Ah ok. I suspect your lamp timer has run out and the projector is going into protection. After 4000 hours the projector goes into protection mode. That is what the 3 blinks and red means. To verify, reset the lamp timer as per the manual . Try holding the left and right arrows as well as the power button on the control panel at the same time (not on the remote) and the status LED should flash 2x. If the projector comes on again, then the lamp should be replaced, even if it is projecting. Once they get past 4K hours they can explode and wreck the optics. If that does not work, let me know
I don't seem to see any thing in the manual that lists it. www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_manual_1921.pdf They do mention some flash codes on page 24. I think that will help.
@@FixitFrank Thanks for the response, I was really hoping to get up the service info to see exactly how many hours have elapsed. In previous models I could. Cheers.
@@simonrees4631 elektrotanya.com/mitsubishi_sd200u_xd200u.pdf/download.html this is for the SD200 but they are very similar. The service info might help. On page 22 they talk about checking the lamp time. I am not 100% the menus between the SD200 and your menu are the same. This is your best option though as far as I can find. If you can find a service manual for the XD300 or XD350, that will tell you all the definite options you have.
My guy, you have saved the day. So much turmoil trying to sift through the internet and you came through. Thank you so much.
But still a blue screen😢
blue screen means its not seeing your input device.
Thank you for this extremely helpful video! Worked to reset an XD560U

this was great, have any idea if you can make the help screen larger,
I don't think you can. I think it is set by the firmware and not able to me made larger(unless you make the entire image larger).

May i ask whether the hours count up or down, my projector says lamp hours 'low' 346 hours? So is that hours used or hours left? Thank you.
I am fairly confident they count up in Mitsubishi projectors. 0-2000. Some other brands do count down.
@@FixitFrank Thank you, much appreciated 👍

I have problems in my project became black and white screen like a old school TV
That sounds like a color wheel that lost all its segments. I would check that first.
How do I reset my hc6800 lamp
You need to hold down both arrows keys and power for about 3 seconds (on the projector).
I have a projector similar to this one but can’t get it off the blue screen when connected to my computer 😞

How to enter service mode..
