The portrait of The Tailor was so incredibly contemporary .A face you could see out and about today .
As someone who watches all of the historical fashion UA-camrs, loves making period clothing, and adores The Chateau Diaries, this just makes my heart sing.
I’ve been working with fabric for 55 years, but still learned so much from Mister Pinsent. Thank you for a fascinating blog.
I adore Zack Pinsent. I’m surprised that Phillip hasn’t commissioned an ensemble or conspired with him to design and sew his own ensemble himself. Both gentlemen have the perfect physique to wear Regency fashion and they
I love when you do these historic type videos. The attention to detail and colors are amazing!
Fascinating! Nice to see men wearing such beautiful clothes. We're so dull and boring today.
I’ve been waiting for this! It was absolutely fascinating and Zach Pinsent is great! How I wish men (and women) still dressed in this way! I can imagine Philip in all those magnificent clothes! Great vlog, thank you!
Absolutely ENCHANTING! As a textiles major and designer, I adore these type of vlogs and your channel is THE best at doing this! I always linger at these type of clothing exhibits in museums......and the ones at The Kremlin in Russia at outstanding as well! Well done, INDEED!
Oh, how utterly divine! What a magnificent young man. Thanks, Steph and Philip, for bringing this interesting vlog to us. You both looked gorgeous too! Merci bien! ❤️
I had never heard of Zack Pinsent prior to this vlog so thank you for introducing him. Love his style and philosophy of wearing what you love and feel good in. Just finished binge watching Bridgeton and love all the clothes and fashion. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
i love this colaboration. there's a real purpose to it and i learned a lot. i love how you run these channels. thanks stef
Well, i never heard of zack pinsent before, he sure knows his stuff!! I never gave much thought to mens fashion, but i found Zack so interesting to listen to and so knowledgeable.
This was wonderful! What a treat this video was for me! Zack Pinsent is amazing!
This was such an interesting vlog. Thank you for the introduction to Zack Pinsent.
I've followed the lovely Zac for quite a while now, so it was amazing to see him on your incredibly interesting vlog. Loved it. Would love to see men dressed like that! Go Philip! Thank you as always Stephanie for such an enlightening and enjoyable vlog. Must pop down to the V & A and investigate 🥰
How fun! Yes, I learned a few things today!!....
So wonderful to see some of my favourite interests collide! Period clothes in modern life and heritage house rescuing. It makes sense they should overlap, but it was still a welcome surprise.
Hearing a young man of this day dressed in old style saying ~it’s the shoes for me~ sent me. Modern insults for old dress. Love it!!
I love the way Zack presented this fascinating information!!!! Fantastic video!! I hope we see more of Zack!! The museum exhibition is amazing!! Love from Vermont
Didn't really expect to enjoy this but found it fascinating and learned so much. Zack's knowledge is amazing - depth and breadth.
Great interesting history on men's fashion. It is nice to dress up every now and then, even if there is no place to go. I use to love to do it more when I was younger, especially in the 1980's!
One of my absolute faves appearing alongside my other faves from Lalande!? What an excellent cross over! looking forward to seeing the outfits Phillip puts together from this inspiring visit
Thank you, Stephanie, for sharing this tour with Zack. He is so knowledge and fun!. Wonderful lace, fabulous fabrics and colors. Nelson's jacket, truly a relic. I've seen photos of Zack. To hear him is to understand how he finds joy in dressing as he does, daily.
This has been one of the best thing you guys have put together for us all to watch absolutely loved it 💓
Oh my, yes, I would love it if we went back to this type of clothing, perhaps not that expensive, but the styles allow women to be ladies and men, gentlemen. I just loved listening to Zack. Thank you Stephanie and Phillip for taking us along!
How fabulous is Zach?! So fascinating and informational. I wish woman and Men would dress like the earlier centuries. I'ts so boring now. Although, I do like my pj's🤪 Thanks for sharing and have fun at the party😍🐳
What a wonderful tour around the exhibition, so full of information and insight. Thank you so much Stephanie, Zack and Phillip! Xx
That was SO interesting! I’m going to his channel right now! PS: I totally agree-where whatever you want! 🥰
That was just fascinating!
It was such fun seeing you both together talking so passionately about everything.
Thanks so much!
How interesting. Zack is a font of information and his enthusiasm is infectious. Loved it!
Fascinating history of men's clothing. Zach has amazing knowledge and taste in clothing. Enjoyed. Love to all ❤
I wish we could go back to wearing this type of clothing, they were elegant, and beautiful to look at for both males and females! Philip, you ALWAYS look amazing when you dress up! Stephanie, your gowns are top notch and I love seeing them too :0)
Go for it 👘 👛 🥻!!!
@Marjie Giffri Awesome and good for him! :0)
A few years ago my family and I were on a bus going into Brighton when Zack Pinsent (as I found out after a bit of research) got on and none of us could take our eyes off him he looked so out of place dressed in his amazing clothes on a bus, but so dashing! What a lovely young man, you were so lucky to meet him, we were all too shy to approach him at the time tho I did take a sneaky photo!
Thank you for this amazing video. The informative and adventurous episodes like this that you post make Chateau Diaries the best vlog on UA-cam. Bravo Stephanie and Philip.
LOVE this!!! V&A is one of the best in the world! I love when your vlogs are educational and fascinating as much as the great ones at La Lande🥰
The portrait with the man with the tassels, feathers & spurs was definitely one for Phillip the King of Tassels 😁. Xxx❤️🇬🇧😘😍
Massively entertaining, enjoyable , informative and most of all delightfully presented. Much appreciation to all three of you... fabulous.🍾
That was fascinatingly fabulous!
I sooo missed your education clips!! You look so beautiful in that red dress😍 I am not even starting about all the historical clothing😍🤣😍
Loved this Stephanie, so informative and colourful! Shows the passionate side of men’s wear!
Yes yes yes to dressing more 'formally'!
Wonderful vlog. I enjoyed very much listening to Zack, although I have listened to him previously. He's right, we should all just wear what we want ❤️
What a lovely informed young man. He looks so fantastic in his clothes, that he makes himself! So interesting - thank you for sharing with us all. Love to you from Devon xxx
Hello Stephanie
Mr Pinsent looked amazing & was so knowledgeable. I totally agreed with his ideas about fashion & wearing what you want…
Loved Philip’s coat & broach
You looked fabulous too in that amazing red dress
Hope you enjoy the party
Love to both of you
Andrew 💐💜xx
Stephanie meets the most interesting people. I love this episode. I wish more men dressed the way they wanted, and the world would be more beautiful and interesting.
I'm a man and I dress how I want. In fact, you'll find most men already do dress the way they want. 🙂
I enjoyed meeting Zack and learning about his wonderful clothing. He does look very handsome. Fun to see how excited Philip was. Thanks for taking us to this exhibition.🙏🏻❤️
One word....WOW!!!!! Thank you Stephanie 😊 💓
Love this video Stephanie and Phillip! As a Canadian, I wish I could just buy a Air Canada ticket and visit the V&A (a life long dream of mine BTW). Thank you so much for not only introducing my to Zack, but the V&A, and your continued “continental” interest.
My wish is to meet you and Phillip someday. I hope you both are prepared for stardom. Just love, love, love your videos!
This was so interesting! looove this 💚
I loved this ! Thank you for taking us along on this wonderful tour with Zack 😃
What an amazing amount of knowledge in one so young!!!!
I didn't expect this video to interest me at all, but I found Zack absolutely fascinating to listen to. Thanks for introducing him to us. I think he has a new follower now 😉
V&A is also my N1 Fave !
Loved this program❤️
Ms.Jennifer J. Lalande you make quality time with lots of fun !!!👏🏻
What a fun vlog, and Zack is most delightful! His knowledge is amazing, and he looks GOOD!
He is amazing, I’ve seen him before on a YT channel, Bernadette from NY, and she now lives in London UK. She has 1.5 million subscribers, describing how to sew period clothing. She is a master seamstress.
She most certainly is! I admire her & watch her UA-cam vlog regularly.
The bust behind Jack Pinsent, wearing a lace collar, bears a remarkable resemblance to Phillip. Think he would have been in his element giving Beau Brummel a run for his money. An informative and interesting vlog. Stay safe.
Thanks for the glimpse of this amazing exhibition! Zack is really an authority on period fashion, l have been following his channel quite some time. Enjoy your art deco party!
Someone sharing their passion so exuberantly never gets old!!!!
How interesting I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this vlog didn't want it to end.
Absolutely riveting! Thank you Stephanie for bringing Zack on to Chateau Diaries. He is so fascinating and very talented. A perfect pairing with Phillip in there too. Zack is such a lovely person! Great vlog.
Totally mesmerized! I imagined Philip in most of those suits. Great vlog...I love how much we learn from watching your channel.
That was fascinating. Thank you for sharing with us. I agree men should definitely wear more amazing clothing. Zac is lovely and his outfits are fabulous ❤
Great vlog!
Dear Isabelle, I want you to know I cried with joy to hear all the news about your vision! I'm sure many more did also. 🌺🌸🌼🥰
I look forward to seeing you either from Africa or France, just enjoying life where ever. Hello Percy! I hope you are doing well and keeping an eye on your beautiful bride. So many reasons to be happy !! ♥️♥️♥️
I totally agree, l too welled up with tears when Stephanie shared the news from the chapel.
As did I.
My favourite museum , lovely break in my day, love watching Zach explain historical fashion... thanks
Wow! What fun excursion that Stephanie and Phillip have taken us on!! Zack was terrific and the display clothing amazing. Despite our rural CA (USA) wine country location we make every attempt to visit the New York Metropolitan Museum Exhibits and I must say I've learned more history thru those exhibits that all the history books...well maybe NOT all, combined. LOLs. Clothing is an amazing lens thru which to view it
This exhibit is no different than those others, proving we 'are what we wear'! (Or is that 'were' what we 'wear') Bravo!
So pleased to see Zak. What a star.
What a fascinating video Stephanie! To have more depth in The Great Male Renunciation! I agree with everything Zack said, fashion is to have fun and not to be restricted by silly male/female rules. Wear whatever makes you happy, be bold and enjoy it.
I love all of the chateau diaries posts , however, you’ve gone above and beyond with this post. Entertaining and informative; so interesting! Thanks for so much information, always looking forward to your next posts. Best wishes to all at Lalande!
How marvellous ,I absolutely enjoyed listening to Zack, what a lovely and knowledgeable guy .Thank you so much.
Loved this!! So interesting. Love the sporting gentleman's outfit and the Wallis pantaloons. What a lovely person Zack is.
I loooove this video! 😍😍 I love that people dress just like they want to, like Phillip and Zack! I also dress differently from many others, as a cybergoth, and I just love it! 🦇Lovely to see some attention on clothes being an act of choice rather than following the "norms" of society today.
I found this very interesting, love the history and how styles have changed! How appropriate it was for the times and how they would show their wealth and/or their place in society. Thank you very much. From Minnesota USA
Zack Pinsent is as beautiful on the outside as on the inside! Truly a lovely human. I loved the history lesson in today's video. 20 Thumbs up!
I very much appreciated this! I have more costumes in my closet than anything else...so i started to mix parts of them with my daily clothes! I am known to be 'The weird one' and nothing changed with age and this vlog made me feel even better about it ! Thank you Stephanie!
I wore my Oriental halloween costume...Red silk with Dragons...
I had Billy Porter in the back of my mind from the beginning of the video, so I was delighted to see his formal wear at the end!
Fascinating historical sartorial background detail. What amazes me is there were no sewing machines; all sewn by hand. Zack is delightful.
That was AMAZING TO WATCH !!! The whole pink and blue past and the fabrics wow ,love history
I really enjoy these type of videos. Thanks so much for sharing
This was beautiful and so fun! The V & A is my favorite museum. Wish I lived closer so I could visit often. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Stephanie! This was a fascinating glimpse into the V&A fashion exhibition which most of us in far away lands cannot visit and view in person. I love the variety in your vlogs, mixing history and entertainment alongside the Chateau experience; so I for one, hope you continue as you are, providing information and frivolity as much as life at LaLande. Can’t wait for your next milestone of the 300th episode! ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic! Has to be one of my fave "Château Diaries" episodes.
This was absolutely fascinating! Loved Zach Pinsent! Amazing history. Thank you Stephanie! Cheers from California💜🤟🏻😎🇺🇸🇺🇦🕊
I love Zack PInsent. I discovered his UA-cam channel a few years ago. Loved the tour and information.
That was extremely fascinating. I sort of wish more people dressed in period clothing. It would make the world a more fun an interesting place.
Zack is so awesome! I loved all of your enthusiasm for the subject! And I agree that modern European dress is boring in comparison to what we had before.
Philip is so animated when looking at these clothes! He really gets excited when discussing vintage clothing! 💖
Loved this. Phillip and Zack remind me a bit of Harry Styles: ALL gossip about sexual orientation aside I love the fact that they LOVE style and appreciate the colour, the fit, etc. I definitely think menswear now is terribly restrictive, and (NO HATE INTENDED) really regret the fact that so few heterosexual men embrace it. I don't want to invite an argument: I just really have personally encountered some gender/orientation misinterpretations because of this issue, and I personally think ALL men should be able to wear what they wish without the labels of "it's too feminine, too gay," etc. Captain Jack Sparrow wore lace, and he's definitely a heartthrob for many!!!. I myself love, love, love the fashions for men 17th-19th century. Poor dears: they are now sentenced to the most boring style ever in history! Hope my meaning is clear and not interpreted as hate speech pr something. That is not my intention!!!
That was Fabulous! Thank you so much for taking us along.
I deeply admire Zack style 🎩 & am pretty excited about another epic episode of château diaries!!!
Thank you for sharing this visual treat! So much information from such a knowledgeable & fashionable man. Loved it!
Thank you guys, I hope many get to watch the video and see the exhibit, it is so well-thought and gorgeous
Stephanie, I know you really, really love wearing yellow, but you look amazing in that color of red!!!! You should wear it more often.
Fascinating history. Love all the things I learn from watching your videos. So often I text my sister (who has her hands full with little ones) and tell her she needs to watch your latest video. Especially today as my sister's major was costume design. :) Makes me laugh on the elbows on the table.....my grandmother (raised in France) we had to use our best manners around and one was about the elbows. To teach us as kids my mother would say "(insert name 2xs) strong and able get your elbows off the table". ;)
The Chateau Diaries, Hello Ms. Jarvis Thank you for bringing these episodes to our attention, I am trully obsessed with V&A and that style of dress that whole period really. When we get to 3:09 I think if this guy were blond he would be a match for Amury. That's how he looked when he had his beard just gorgeous. Now my other fav man on your channel is Phillip, if I were your age but, I'm not I'm as least 35 more years older gitl I would have went for him too. And he's also here at 3:57 and 4:41. Beautiful men. I simply adore the way he dresses, and you as well. More of these please. I so enjoy.
This was fascinating! Thanks so much!!
Thank you for the virtual tour with the fantastic guide. I feel very lucky to have been able to experience this exhibit at the V&A with the three of you. In addition, I've gotten sources for my gender studies course. Wonderful vlog!
Wonderful, thank you for sharing this. I loved every moment. Dress for your own fun!
Loved! Thanks for sharing, I watched with my husband and we both loved!
The " neck wraps" were probably to protect the jackets and shirts from the oils being transferred from the neck/skin. It would make sense because washing the jackets et all was probably labor intensive, even the ironing and shaping of a jacket after washing.
They weren't washed. Jackets were brushed, and occasionally spot cleaned. They couldn't be washed.
@@cynthialambert9067 Makes so much sense. thank you. I do much the same with wool sweaters and wool dress jackets .
It was lovely to see Philip so excited. Cheers to expressing yourself through fashion.
