The latest game on Worst Game On Steam is Dinosis Survivial. All in all it's a great concept. The idea that you need to survive in a hostile dinosaur infested world while trying to figure out what the hell happened is actually really cool. But Dinosis Survival does suffer from a lack of polish and content. Dinosaurs are not that hard to kill in the end, the hunger system is dumb and the cliff-hanger is real.
But with that being said, Dinosis Survival does appear to be the first game release by these developers and they do have some much better looking titles coming out
    -------
I'm WickedWiz from the What Went Wrong series coming at you with some of the most cursed indie games on Steam. This new series is for games that are so bad, that they're actually good. Worst Game On Steam, is a question that hopefully turns out to be false each time. These are games that won't fit the longer form What Went Wrong videos.

This is what happens when someone has a cool and kinda corny idea, decides to make it a videogame, learns how to program a bit so they can make it real, but lack the funds and realizes the scope was too big for what they can handle. But I mean, the love was poured in it and you can notice it

This one kinda hurts. The voice acting is good enough, there is a constructed narrative, and they went through the effort of preventing out of bounds as much as possible.
It feels like they were really trying their hardest but either over anticipated how easy it would be, how much it would cost, how long it would take or some combination of those factors.

You know what, these developers (or developer) may lack the technical expertise to really polish a game, but like. They seem to have implemented not just stereotypical game design tropes like finding keycards or powering up a generator, but they have some good things too. Like using a radio message that the player has to track down using their hearing, or, seeing a massive cool building in the distance to guide you after some exploring. Having a relatively clear open area where you can see a dead body and something on the ground next to it to draw you in to explore. It's janky but I actually hope the developer(s) learned a lot and can make more games.

this is a great point, the level design and atmospheric/passive storytelling through item placement and visual design are really really well done, showing a level of maturity and care that a lot of professional designers lack, and done using bought asset packs no less, no ability to call the art team and say "I need an intersection floor texture that tells the players to go this direction" or "I need something that looks similar to our door switches but lights up to draw player attention".

Most of the successful development seemed to go into the story and concept and characterization of the player character than anything else, but It shows promise!
They took a concept and put effort into trying something. It didn't work out as intended, and is only sort of functional, but it's a start with a better foundation than most of the other games I've seen so far in this series :] It's nice, and his felt like a very fair showcase of the game and features you found interesting and what needed more work. What I like is that no attempt to explain how the hell you ended up in the future. It boils down to "who knows, who cares, deal with it".
That's a genuine compliment, by the way. This is one of those cases where the less you tell the player, the better.

I would play this game if a slightly bigger studio remade it and they hired the main voice actor again. There needs to be more dino-hunting games plus I need to know if the MC is a clone, time traveling, or was just in a coma for years after the plan crash. Lying in the wilderness somehow unharmed, maybe the toxic air protected him and kept him alive.

A bit late to the channel but loving what you're doing so far Wiz! Most of the games you play are... questionable to say the least. But out of what I've seen so far, this one definitely has some genuine commitment to it. It's completely obvious that someone (or persons) had a passion and tried to do the best of their ability (and budget) to make it happen. I wish the best to the developer of this game, and I wish the best for you! You got a subscribe from me that's for sure. (edit) And I must say, the voice acting in this game is far beyond what I expected of a indie game of this kind (Thats if it isn't AI, sometimes its hard to tell nowadays), cheers to the VA's too. I'm actually glad some UA-camrs are willing to go into the depths of indie games on steam, sometimes getting some attention will be enough for them to try harder... and you never know, they might improve and create a great game one day.... or they might just continue to scam you and try to use your PC as a crypto miner... I guess its the way it goes

it's an e-reader, once the screen is set to a certain image, it draws essentially no power whatsoever, so the battery thing is not really a problem.

Honestly, I think I would like you to play his other game. You can tell a lot of love went into this one. Although it looks like he unfortunately didn't have the knowledge or funds to make the game exactly what he envisioned. The extremely brief clip you showed of his other game already looks leagues better. So I'd be interested to see how he's improved. I'm sure it's still rough, but it's nice to see a game actually have potential in this series.

Almost nobody seems to remember this 1998 game any more, even though it had an official "Jurassic Park" license and had a voiceover by Richard Attenborough.
