I was a 19 year old Hudson Brothers fan when Razzle Dazzle first aired and loved watching the show! Between You Tube and the DVD, its been so nice to re-live that time! Thanks for posting this!! :-)
I loved these guys so much Saturday mornings thought they were so good as musicians until my brother pointed out they were playing electric guitars not plugged in. CRUSHED!
hoping this can put your mind at ease! via search - The guitar manufacturer 'Micro Frets' introduced a built-in wireless system as early as 1969. Maybe they really were playing!! haha
I thought so! I remember watching that one as a kid & thinking it was hilarious, but this isn't it! I remember only 2 of the brothers being on it, but I could be wrong...
I loved them enormously back then at 14, especially Bill. And believe it or not I love them just as much to this day, especially Bill. (although the only brother who still performs is the only brother I see - Mark) In other words HUDSONS 4eva....
Wow i totally remember all this.this is so cool to find this on youtube.brings back good memories when i was a child in the 70s.the 21st century sucks.
@TIPTON340 It was a very sad day for me when this show got cancelled so suddenly! But now I have the dvd set, and my daughters & I love it! Razzle Dazzle forever!
...it moved to Sunday mornings on CBS along with "Marlo And The Magic Movie Machine" & "The Harlem Globetrotters Popcorn Machine" where it lasted in re-runs until sometime between 1976 and 1977 when it was replaced by "Far Out Space Nuts" re-runs.
Used to watch it - as a kid I thought it was fun.... thank you for posting it.... I've often looked for the clip "Here we are another boring day on the Island of Iggy Peegy :)
The sleepy old cartoon character that comes out near the end of the intro & sets the fireworks off reminds me of a similar character that opened & closed commercial breaks on TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes w/Dick Clark & Ed McMahon.
I see that Sonny and Cher's producers did that, with their cast -- including The Unknown Comic Murray Langston. I never could figure out why these guys got a show. What was so special about them? I guess I can see via watching this show and others. Goldie Hawn sure liked Bill Hudson and had a child with him
at the beginning it shows Murry Langsten being loaded into the van,,Few Years latter (on the Gong Show) He was "the Unnown comic, the comedy guy with the Paper Bag on His Head...
I liked this show and the superfriends..when superfriends was a repeat, I would watch hudson bros. The Emu was my favorite part, Sometimes I'd forget it was a puppet and think it was real..if that makes any sense. like most kids in the 70's..most shows were not "laugh out loud" funny. most kids watched these shows "stonefaced" Much like how women are "Stonefaced" when watching "Big Bang Theory"..even if the audience on the show is ROTF with laughter..
The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show - The Complete Series was already released on DVD back in 2008 and is currently out of print. However you can still find it on amazon.com and/or eBay.
@@BrooklynChivalry Do you know about their summer replacement series (for Sonny & Cher), which led to this Sat. morning show? I thought it was a lot better than this show, and I love how its opening theme sang all their names in Pig Latin.
Who thought putting a variety show against Saturday morning cartoons was a good idea?..clearly suited for evening television, but have a vague memory watching this instead of the cartoons..
My family liked their evening show, it was silly skits and lame songs, but still entertaining. It did not last long and was altered to a kids show that we see here. It did not last long as a kids show either, note that their cast was taken from the Sonny and Cher show that had folded as well. Most of these comics were from Canada.
Their evening 1 hour show was the summer replacement for the Sonny & Cher Show ... Common back then rather than run reruns of the variety show they would put on another show for 6 or so episodes in the summer (often also a variety show).
I don't remember this show as being as obviously awful as it clearly is. My brother and I quite enjoyed it at the time. It must just have been a show right for its brief window in time, but not for a moment later.
This ☝🏻is NOT a blast from the past by any means! 😂 They were unsuccessful in their musical endeavors. Can’t recall their show either. They just didn’t have it. 👎🏻
This is horrible. Pure cheddar. Didn't crack a smile, nothin. The songs were terrible as well. With all the great rock that was out then,.. this, makes t.v.?? lol Some, if not most, adult 70's t.v. shows were just shite. I can't believe what passed for entertainment back then. Thankfully I was only kid when this was out and I only really remember the cartoons and some after school sitcoms.
“The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show” was a Saturday morning kids’ show, not an adult variety show, nor was it about Rock… it was 30 minutes of live skits and songs for 8-year old children eating their Super Sugar Crisp or Cap’n Crunch cereal while still in their pajamas. It is a product of its time, the following generations would not appreciate nor understand it.
@@BrooklynChivalry I was born in 72. From what I know about this show,.. is that it was a replacement summer show for Sonny and Cher,.. which I do remember , and was an adult variety show. Still, the 70's had some really cheesy stuff. lol The hair, the clothes, the color pallette of the 70s was horrible. T'V. got good at the end of the 80's/90's. 😀
Holy Crap this is horrible. Even by 70's standards. Take Laugh-In, toss in a bit of The Monkees, crank the laugh track up to 10, and you get this dreck. How on earth did I find this entertaining when I was a kid?
I'm watching this stuff and laughing, just like I did 40 years ago!!! Comedy, like this, is timeless!

Family Guy brought me here. Thanks, 20th Century-Fox.

Love that gold top gibson though.
Razzle Dazzle!!! This is why I loved the 1970's. Campy humor and canned laughter and good music.
I loved Rod Hull and his emu, they are just awesome and I loved Fabulous Freddie too!
Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally feel thoroughly razzle-dazzled.
Three-minute opening sequence for a half-hour show. You don't see *that* any more.
I had a HUGE crush on Brett back then! I loved this show..thanks a million times over for posting this clip! :)))
Fabulous Freddy skits are the best. When he shows up, I start cracking up!!
He always does that thing when he swings his arm.
MMMMMMmm!!
There was an earlier Hudson Brothers Show. This one was specifically designed for Saturday mornings.
I thought so! I remember watching that one as a kid & thinking it was hilarious, but this isn't it! I remember only 2 of the brothers being on it, but I could be wrong...
This show still cracks me up!

I grew up on the Hudson Brothers love this
The Razzle Dazzle Rappup of everything, including The Kitchen Sink🎉

Never noticed it before, but that white Les Paul that Brett is "playing" is a bass! Kind of rare and very cool.
Only a musician would notice the songs they're singing has a walking Bass line but he's not moving his fingers.
Yes watching this show back then was fun even if its contents were out of the ordinary.but it's as much fun now as it is for Nostalgia's sake.
I know one thing I prefer this over the crap out today
It's Billy Van from TVONTARIO T\°! He's the host of "Bits and Bytes" 1 and 2 with Luba Goy and Victoria Stokle, respectively! 🙏🙏🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Hudson Brothers only ran one year on CBS on Saturday morning. They were
polverized by their competition: The Superfriends and Pink Panther.
The harmonies...Killer..
Damn near three minutes to open the show. Every episode, every time. And then straight to at least two minutes of commercials. LOL.
Watched this as a kid.Rod Hull & his pet Emu still hold up today.Where's Chucky M.?
I need more from that

Actually, Bill and Goldie have two children. Daughter Kate and son Oliver.
@@jaxx211 and were married. Poor goldie.
They are clean that's why.
This makes me glad I didn't exist in the era when this show aired.
DAMN, this holds up.....
I wanted a hair helmet and a pair of those platform shoes back then when I was 12.
Yup. Comedy like it's coming back to style. Jeffery
Silly, but better produced than similar shows from the 80s!
@Joannec95 HMV. I think I saw it once at Zeller's as well. If they're still open at all, I would check there. I hope you find it!
Can you believe there was a time when kids had enough attention to sit through _all_ that intro?
at the beginning it shows Murry Langsten being loaded into the van,,Few Years latter (on the Gong Show) He was "the Unnown comic, the comedy guy with the Paper Bag on His Head...

One of those guys is Kate Hudson's daddy.
Fabulous Freddie looks like Lane Pryce from Mad Men.
I was 3 in 1974, but I vaguely remember the bear
The Hudson Brothers Was The 70's Version Of The Jonas Brothers.
I preferred the summer variety show. But this was a bit better than Bonkers!
@Rescue162 Thanks I will check it out there. How much it was do you know?
ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEA WHEN THE 5 HUDSON BROTHERS SHOW EPISODES WILL BE RELEASED/????

Kind of over kill with the laugh tracks but still fun to watch.
...the horror. The horror.
@SnowbirdFlock Where did you find the set?
Hey Margolis!
@Joannec95 You replied to the wrong person?... I think it was $22 + GST at HMV, and less at Zeller's, 'cause I think it was in a clearance rack :)

I never ever saw this in the 70s. What channel was it on? Seems like something I definitely would have heard of. Ultra cheesy. 😅

Is it me or was Avril Chown not wearing a bra during the Razzle Dazzle Wrap?
She had good hair.
This may be the single worst television show that I've ever SEEN.
I guess for 5000grand 💲👀a week intbe 70s they would of did most another
Any shows with laugh tracks are the real pits!!
No wonder this show ruined their credibility as musicians and songwriters!
This is like a childs show, the was something we made fun of when i was a kid. Soooo corney
it IS a child’s show, it was on Saturday mornings.

I did like it when I was young.
