I didn’t hear until years later cause when 808 & Heartbreaks was out it was different and I was still stuck on his older stuff but Kanye was ahead of his time and that album inspired a lot of these new artist sound like Juice World who said in an interview he listened to his older brother play tf out of 808 💯 I’m usual up on shii but 808 slipped under the radar I was slipping I must admit

@@antong5522 Huh? No. It isn't the feeling of nostalgia it gives off but it just felt weird hearing it the first time when one's still stuck in Graduation which is a classic on itself, probably his best album so far. 808s stands tall as the most influencial album of the decade.
808s really did inspire a whole new generation.

Yup. Bold move by Daniel to take such an emotional and personal song and try to not only cover it but turn it into something that is his own too.
I also prefer Kanye’s version but that is far from an insult to Daniel, it just so happens he chose one of the greatest songs of all time to cover, and dare I say he did a phenomenal job in doing so. Huge respects to both these guys. Love both versions but don’t think anyone could ever touch what Ye did with this song.

@@Jsalcedo23 i dont know if it's just cause i never listened to 808s when i was younger but to me his delivery actually sounds kinda flat and unemotional
to me, this version sounds a lot more emotional - maybe it's because of the more intimate arrangement or just how good daniel's voice is. not to say that kanye's version is bad, but it doesn't invoke nearly the same amount of feeling in me as daniel's

This is a decent cover but it doesn't come close to the original by Kanye West on the 808 and heartbreaks album. If you like this song, you should go give 808 and heartbreaks a listen. The entire album is amazing.
