What a money pit those high efficiency boilers are. Save money on fuel to pay the technician that comes every year to take apart and replace expensive parts.
Great Video, Daniel. A broken screw in aluminum is really hard to get out. I usually try to put a little anti seize on the threads to hopefully get it apart next time. Most of our commercial jobs last 4 to 8 hours, I don’t miss running 6 or more calls a day. Looks like you’re figuring it out.
Watching you perform the maintenance on that Ultra brings back memories. When I worked in NJ, we had about 10 or so Ultra boilers. Some were Series 2, but most were Series 3. Trying to tell people that the maintenance has to be done on a regular basis was a problem because of the expense of the kit and the time it takes to do the maintenance. They get a bad rep, but I always liked working on them.
seems like klein makes their regular screwdriver in usa but the ones that have the tips that can be switched out are made in china probably why the tip broke off on you
Wow…another busy day that began early with an unexpected issue…BTW Daniel, do you have an EZ Out kit for broken bolts? Don’t remember seeing you use one before…that cover plate appeared to have a threaded insert for the screw, so an EZ Out may not have worked anyway. Excellent video and workmanship 👍👍🏆🏆
It looked like the other threads had a helicoil in it. You should figure what size bolt it is and carry a helicoil set on your truck. Very easy repair. Especially it being aluminum. Also check with manufacturer if you can use high temp never seize when reassembling.
Yo!! Use Mineral Oil to clean the Heat Exchanger in the GB142. Works great!! Bosch has a video on UA-cam. Dude in video has a bowl haircut. Smart guy though.
my ultra 80 every so often gives me supply too fast despite the temperatures being normal and circulators running normally what triggers that error is it water temperatures on supply and return or something else?
@@keithN6 it’s not a customer service thing. And I’m not messing with detectors that are tied into systems that call the fire department immediately when they go off. Not my responsibility.

A lot of the problems are due to lack of maintenance with them

gotta teach you how to use an easy out on those broken bolts . learn how to drill and tap them
I need a drill and tap for every size bolt than. And I have an easy out. Nothing was getting this out it was so solid
