Tunnel Vision

The only thought most passengers have about railway tunnels is how they spoil the view. Beyond our imagination is what it took to build them, even if we could bring ourselves to care.
This film - an extended version of the one we made in 2013 - offers some insight into the techniques employed by Victorian engineers to drive the many hundreds of tunnels that form part of our past and present railway network.
It tells a tale of ingenuity, adaptability, determination and tragedy.
