Yeah, thats what happens when you understand the source material well and do proper research. The venom trilogy didn't do that simple and most basic thing and hence were bad. But here I loved how they didn't go with the loki way and gave agatha a complete redemption arc
I like Disney+ being used for origin stories, especially for characters with convoluted or not widely known backstories, so that the movies can focus on the stories they are telling and we already know the players in it. (Also, stories of literal self-discovery are some of the best origin stories.)
I think a solid story like this guides you to the correct theories, but sparks your curiosity and creativity all over the place. There was always a "this will probably happen" option and a million "but maybe this could happen?!" It was really well written.
Agree. The overall journey seemed well laid out though the unraveling of each character’s motivations created unexpected possibilities, its the kinda thing that could have felt forced/pointless though the way the story played out still made it feel like those untold possibilities added additional layers to the characters and why they all needed to go on that journey together.
I jokingly suggested that there was no such thing as the Witches' Road, and the entire thing was a Hex Wanda generated to f* with Agatha. Didn't expect to be so close. lol
But the fact that it does exist in the comics (Wanda goes there with Agatha) made it hard for those who knew it existed to truly consider it was made up.
I didn’t find the “Billy created the road subconsciously without knowing it” aspect frustrating mostly because Agatha clearly was picking up on things that “Teen” wasn’t. I found that really interesting in a rewatch.
I actually like that Billie has to learn his power because he is a teen. He is a kid and even if he grew up knowing he was the son of the Scarlet Witch, he would still be a 16-year-old kid with all those kid emotions. Yes, have him being destructive but hopefully he gets a guide who can help him along the way. Not necessarily Agatha.
for comfort content - my go to is 'leverage'. just .. the rich and powerful getting their comeuppance in creative and competent ways. and it's all types of corruption. and it's so damned satisfying.
I totally agree with "comfort food" shows. Mine is Star Trek - mostly TOS but also some TNG & VOY. I have seen those eps dozens and dozens of times. TOS especially is still so relevant to everything going on in the world today it's kind of eerie. But it is a comfort to listen to those shows.
My comfort show is Once Upon a time ! I will finish season 7 and I will go right back to season 1. I had to shut my news off right after election too so stressed😢😢
Erik at the end was totally right about spoilers and leaks there was a study that proved some people respond more intensely about an ending after it was spoiler instead of it being a surprised and thats just how their mind works its super interesting
36:28 he now has ghost Agatha to guide him now so next time we see him he most likely is going to have some sort of control also in the final fight he seemed to be pretty in control and then he was able to undo his reality warped witches road with seemingly no difficulty so let’s just peace ourselves for that possibility 🫤
Absolutely love the human moments at the end talking about how you were dealing with this particular week. Can't overstate how much the affirmation is appreciated.
Oh I that chuckle before you said “we’re gonna need it!” spoke loud and clear. Definitely dark times ahead. My comfort shows are It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Schitt’s Creek.
I stand for the example that knows nothing about daredevil. I didn't watch the Netflix series or read any of the comics. I hope that they continue at Marvel to give people origin stories through their TV shows like they have on disney plus. But to say everyone knows the origins of one or most comic heroes is just not true. Spiderman was different, we saw his origin several times through movies and cartoons growing up, it made sense to skip over it and maybe do something later.
Gilmore girls used to be that comfort watch for me but it recently has gotten too relatable that I've stopped it because it was more upsetting than comforting to me. WandaVision, Pushing Daisies, Agatha All Along, Knives Out, The Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies, The first 4 of the pirates movies. Star Wars the Clone wars/Rebels!!! I have to be careful with those though because as they focus around war it can really bring me down if I watch it too much.
Being that it was called Agatha all along, and knowing disney was cutting budgets back.... why would anyone anticipate a revival of Wanda?!? I think it's pretty clear now that the Dis+ series are now just going to usher thoughts and run offs and aren't going to have any true gravity to the balance of the MCU.... yeah we have the next captain America and thunderbolts; but I feel like that's the end of the confusion... after the reshaping of the strategy, we shouldn't anticipate any groundbreaking revelations in a dis+ series. It just continues our interest and facination... I absolutely love this series for exactly what it was, and I don't need any other huge connection because it served well.... so we'll that it is more rewatchable than most of the "stuff" we have been given lately... I think they have found the true equation of how to balance cinematic vs TV... or I'm hoping so. Grain of salt on TV, let it be a moment to relish what you're seeing. Cinematic though, the connection is so much greater and intriguing that I might be driven to actually go to the theater again.... does that make sense? I feel like the next 2 years are going to be a bit shifty considering the changes, but if they hold true to this process it would make so much more sense...
48:00 Even though YOU don't intend to dox them, there are people who might dox them with the info you piece together. That's a "no" from me on that type of project.
Man yall are in the middle of covering so many things, and then Disney has to be a bunch of monsters and release TWO major marvel trailers on a weekend. Cant wait to see those breakdowns, I wish your sanity good luck 😂💚
I mean if Wiccan is is proficient the next time we see him it will at least make a little sense with him going off with Agatha's ghost like Naruto and Jiraiya
Oh! Also! My theories were like 90% correct and all I’ve seen are WV and AAA. So I think that’s also something that Marvel should invest more into: stories that stand on their own and don’t rely on institutional knowledge of the comics to understand what is happening in the stories.
random, but It's interesting that both Agatha and Penguin come out around the same time, and both feature main characters and their descent into evil/rise to power, and also feature an episode where a child drowns as a plot element
My comfort shows are Parks and Recreation, Bob's Burgers, and Avatar The Last Airbender. Shows that have quirky humor and a nice or heartwarming ending are my catnip, and I have watched them so many times over the last few years now, I can quote the dialogue from memory. Definitely needed in the months ahead.
If they don't do origins none of us will care about any of those characters in team up movies because we won't know who they are. Without origin movies mone of the team up movies wouls be as strong and as successful. And to build up a lot of characters in team up movies for audience to care about takes time and movie cannot run 4 hours to give us that. What they do works. Audience expectations are just to high and ridiculous and thats on us.
its not a plothole, you just dont know how divination works. its not limited to your own personal timeline......... destiny (another marvel clairvoyant) saw like a hundred years into the future. seeing the future is just that: seeing the future not seeingy MY future.
I wounder if the road permanently exist now and it will change for different people traveling it or it went away after Agatha and Billy left. I know he sealed the entrance, but a entrance could be opened somewhere else by another group.
I think they did a two-episode premier and finale because they were using a more literary structure for the series. Episode 1 was a prelude contextualizing where AAA fit with Wanda's story. Episode 9 was a denouement to explain and wrap up AAA while spinning the story into the future. The actual story was episodes 2 through 8.
I remember that I was SO MAD at the concept of “witches’ road”. I was like why are they making up silly places and comical rules for MCU witches. When we learned that it was Bill-iam all along, I was like thank you Mephisto.
My comfort binge watching is from the Cracked UA-cam channel is the After Hours series. Each episode is less than 10 minutes and hearing them discuss things like which Friends is the worst friend or which apocalypse would be the best one to live in. Very funny.
You guys realize the Road is the subway tunnels under Westview right? The ones Sharon references? That’s why there is a subway car that Jen and Lilia see; Billy’s powers only extend so far past a certain radius. He warped the reality of the tunnels to become the road, in a way similar to Wanda with the Hex
There’s a run in the comics where Billy’s subconscious reality manipulation is discovered as the potential reason for his boyfriend(teddy) being so “perfect”. Frustratingly, whether or not billy wished teddy into existence is never really answered. It’s really cool to see that same plot device used instead used almost as a warning for billy as his character continues to evolve. Loved Jac Schaeffer’s work on this series.
The name drop of Mephisto was weird, and it was odd that the witches know about him, and they don't explain that at all. Billy didn't even ask, "who's that?" It was odd.
I loved Agatha All Along. I'm rewatching Lost because of its anniversary. I'm always rewatching The Simpsons. And I'm escaping reality by playing Zelda. Now, I'll start rewatching Harry Potter.
So, in the final episode, Agatha drains Wiccan of some of his powers. I wonder what implications that has on him moving forward. Maybe his arc will require him to regrow his power or just struggle with not being powerful enough.
no way, Shree and I literally talked about rewatching, comfort shows the other day! about how we’d watch the same genre movies/shows where we know the outcome no matter if we’ve seen it or not. did you’all hack our devices??
I currently have been watching OBX finished the last episode yesterday! Comfort food has to be fries 🍟! Also I’m so excited for Fantastic Four next year 🎬
my two favourite hosts, Erika Clemons and Jesse Voss
ahahha
LMFAO!
Do you mean Elika Lemons and Jesse Moss?
I loved how Agatha was an unapologetic villain throughout, not an anti hero, just a villain.
Welll…
@@FGTRTD96 😂😂😂 nice
Shes now going to be Wickens mentor moving forward.
love that too! and i think its props to Kathryn Hahn's charisma. it would be very hard to do that if the actor doesn't have that.

Avengers age of ultron was a vision origin story as well
I jokingly suggested that there was no such thing as the Witches' Road, and the entire thing was a Hex Wanda generated to f* with Agatha.
Didn't expect to be so close. lol
But the fact that it does exist in the comics (Wanda goes there with Agatha) made it hard for those who knew it existed to truly consider it was made up.
@@jen4532thats why I'm glad I've never read the comics so I'm almost always surprised
It's fun to surprise
I didn’t find the “Billy created the road subconsciously without knowing it” aspect frustrating mostly because Agatha clearly was picking up on things that “Teen” wasn’t. I found that really interesting in a rewatch.
Yeah! It was surprising (more so that youtube theories were right) but not really bad
I actually like that Billie has to learn his power because he is a teen. Yes, have him being destructive but hopefully he gets a guide who can help him along the way. Not necessarily Agatha.
That and he now also most likely has some hesitation with using his powers because he knows it can also be lethal to his own allies.
Billy (not Billie, that's Eilish) is technically about 3 years old. Agatha is his spirit guide.
The kid had to grow up ten years in less than a week and then got into the body of a boy three years older.
He'll learn along the way as other kids, hopefully Agatha is a good mentor lol
12:47 Thank You Jess... I know people hate origin stories but at least they arent wasting an entire movie on it
for comfort content - my go to is 'leverage'. just .. the rich and powerful getting their comeuppance in creative and competent ways. and it's all types of corruption. and it's so damned satisfying.
Yes! I love Leverage! I use to watch that on a loop back in the day

Serial killer, magical cannibalism, and compulsive liar
She's just like joker not born villain, but community make them, like Agatha she's doing that's for survive(coz no mention about darkhold).

O yeah Psych! I haven't seen that in awhile. I am gonna watch it!
Billy created the witches’ road through a surge of emotion very much in the same vain as Wanda. Billy’s emotional trigger was the Salem 7
I think Agatha strongly suspected his identity from the beginning, especially from that point onwards.
@@chrishealton3830she definitely knew..
As a fan I'm okay with wanda not being in it, but the references were there and implications are open for interpretation for future writers
