I can't get over this song "Go All The Way"!!! Could listen to it in a continuous loop for hours!! "I Wanna Be With You" ain't too shabby either! Loved these songs back in the day when I was a kid, an STILL LOVING THEM!!!
Thanks for this post, Rasberries such a massive talent, they complemented each other so well, a perfect mix. Listening to their music each and every day makes my world a happy place!
Yeah, helped the pain of The Beatles breakup. Badfinger, Marmalade, Edison Lighthouse, later ELO, Queen all helped fill the gap. Disco was the beginning of the end I think supported by the same generation as me that weren't musically aware early on and liked the dance rather than the music. In retrospect I wish I'd appreciated disco more as it;s not so bad compared to today but that's another story. Badfinger and Raspberries were the special ones early on though.
@@derekec Badfinger were a truly amazing band. Would have loved to see a Raspberries/Badfinger gig. I think that did actually happen at least once back in the day.
I feel so lucky to have seen both early versions of Raspberries (this one and the Scot McCarl and Mike McBride version). They played at a smaller club in New Jersey both times and what a great live band they were. I saw them again on the 2005 reunion tour at BB King's in NYC. Unbelievable show, better than ever. The deadliest harmonies this side of the original Beach Boys and the sound of a high powered rock band. I listen to them constantly today. Pick up the Raspberries "Pop Art" album recorded live at their first reunion show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland in 2005. Great tight sound from these four guys who hadn't played together in 30 years.
Okay Raspberries, I've listened to Go All the Way about 1000 times and still think it's the catchiest song of the '70s. Unforgettable vocals and guitar riffs plus a brilliant feel for what makes a song you want to listen to.
Eric and Wally are real talents and Jim and Dave were a perfect fit. Too bad we didn't get more and they didn't get much due from other than from us Rasberries fans. A lot of Jimmies things is a schtick, but an attitude is part of what gets the job done and he did. These things don't happen by chance, he was part of the team. Love these guys tunes.
Jimmy Ienner is a very funny guy. He not only produced The Raspberries, but also Three Dog Night, Lighthouse, Grand Funk, Chambers Brothers, Blood Sweat & Tears, Bay City Rollers, Sha Na Na, and many others. Yes, lots of schmaltz from Jimmy! ☺
Shelly Yakus is a great great technician. He sorted out Stan Lynch's drums and his sound for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers when they were producing Damn The Torpedoes.
Thank you to the rasberries that rocked our would in the good old days In the city light what true talented and amercain boys they were this was my cousin Tony's kind of music and he liked it then you knew it was good . You rock my soul all you haters quit the hating know your music the rasberries are the greatest look how they play their hearts outs just for us Will love you til the end of time rb .
@@brianmoulton3093 Badfinger on Wikipedia: "We keep writing songs for a new single and submitting them to Apple, but they keep sending them back, saying they're not good enough."[13] Paul McCartney read the interview and offered the song "Come and Get It" to the group,[23] -- See? Paul saved their asses! HAHAHA
Thanks for putting this up. Bits and pieces have been around for awhile, but I think this is the first time I've seen the live "Tonight". Not nearly enough footage of these boys in their prime. Too bad Wally and Eric couldn't have been loaded up with Prozac for a few years.
Couldn’t have said it better. I think the fact that more people don’t “🌈”get it” says something about the wackabout world we’re in. So what. There’s always something special about loving a band the whole world doesn’t. And Wally Bryson is totally underrated, as is Dave Smalley as a songwriter. And Scott And Michael kept the quality, brought a little more rock. God bless the Kinks, but I like the Raspberries more.
They were more Beatles than the Beach Boys and more. Beach Boys than the Beatles always a fan ..I bought their 4 albums in a 4cd box set on Amazon and it's on ebay under $30.
He's one of the most talented musicians of the 20th century. He's a phenomenal singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist. I listen to his music regularly because it is simply timeless. I adore Eric Carmen and The Raspberries. ❤
What I like about this live stuff is how raw sounding they are without some of the studio trickery toning down their sound for radio a fair bit. This is what I like about "Side 3", where it's basically just a band setting up live and blasting out rock n' roll.
Thanks for posting .. I hope we're not supposed to take the producer guy seriously, otherwise he's a massive tool. Regardless, this band had tremendous energy, talent, songs, and could perform. They combined the best of Badfinger and any number of other British bands.
Now you know why they had Lester bangs in Almost Famous listening to Go All the Way, he loved to trash groups like the Raspberries...I don't agree with him they were.a great band.
Ugh. Eric's writing is brilliant but this over compressed mix is enraging because I love the songs. No matter what version you find, this whole album is mixed horribly.
Off the scale great, all four of these guys. I saw 'em live in '72, was quite awesome.
a rare treat, Thank you for sharing your musical talent with us. Rest in peace Eric
One of my fondest memories was to go see the Cyrus erie as a teenager the band that grew into the raspberries
Oh so sad at the loss of Eric. What an amazing musician, and they all sounded so good together. RIP Eric😢❤
Song's I still listening to over and over
I could listen to "Let's Pretend" on an endless loop! Should have done way better in the charts!
Those harmonies are sick. What a great band.
That's a killer voice man. 🤟
I have known Ricky [Eric] since I am 11. 'Let's Pretend ' is Based on fact. Truth. Fly Free, Ricky. ❤
I loved Wally so much! He always looked like he was having so much fun!
Most underrated band, my God they were so good. Didn’t know jimmy sang bass on Driving Around lol. I absolutely love that song, tho.
I can't get over this song "Go All The Way"!!! Could listen to it in a continuous loop for hours!! "I Wanna Be With You" ain't too shabby either! Loved these songs back in the day when I was a kid, an STILL LOVING THEM!!!
They had a great album I loves as a kid
This is great historic footage! Great behind-the-scenes look at recording session work! It captures the essence of the Raspberries’ energy!
Thanks for this post, Rasberries such a massive talent, they complemented each other so well, a perfect mix. Listening to their music each and every day makes my world a happy place!
wow i record now and its the best music ever
When these guys first came out they were like The Beatles of the early 70's. I wrote this before I listened to it incidentally. GREAT band.

I miss my Record Plant all the time.
The look Eric shoots at him in the booth at
3:46 is priceless.
😂
The Album that's the Raspberry it self, is great👍💕
It's a shame they couldn't stay together

These guys were so good, it's a shame they couldn't last more than only two years but all the four albums they made are above average to great.

The perfect power pop group combining the very best of the Beatles; The Who; The Small Faces and The Beach Boys. None better ever.

This is brilliant! Thanks for posting! The Raspberries were great. Right up there with Badfinger!
Badfinger? You mean the group Paul McCartney had to save?
How did Paul have to save Badfinger? I'm just wondering.
Badfinger were pretty well capable of destroying themselves without any attempts at their being saved by anyone
The Raspberries are ALMOST up there with Badfinger. As for that ridiculous comment about Paul saving Badfinger...hahaha...wish he had though.

I love the 5 oclock shadow back before metro sexuals man scaped

but thank you for posting! still, really awesome to see.

One of the most brilliant pop bands of all time. Great live band too. The Berries could deliver and then some.
Ienner is sure into himself.....
LOVE the schmaltz at the top of this!
WALLYS CHOPS ARE KILLER ON THAT CLIP OF GO ALL THE WAY.

God Bless The Kinks indeed. Raspberries and Badfinger too.
They were more Beatles than the Beach Boys and more. Beach Boys than the Beatles always a fan ..I bought their 4 albums in a 4cd box set on Amazon and it's on ebay under $30.
Wow, Eric sings his heart out...he’s quit a hard working talent.
He's one of the most talented musicians of the 20th century. He's a phenomenal singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist. I listen to his music regularly because it is simply timeless. I adore Eric Carmen and The Raspberries. ❤
I give this two thumbs up...& I raise both big toes too! PS, fans speak louder than critics, 'nuff said.
Pretentious music critics even in the rock & roll genre! Who cares? These guys sold out their first reunion concert in 4 minutes! Screw the critics! 😜
what year was this
Gotta be 73

Not the William M. Aucoin credit. He would later gain notoriety as the manager of KISS, who in turn were big fans of the Raspberries.
What studio are they at? In Cleveland somewhere?
My god. This video is all about the producer? What makes him think that their music wouldn't be better with another producer?
How could it possibly be any better? It’s perfect.
Ummmm...what??
Tight backing vocals when not playing. Makes sense--playing and singing is hard!
Thanks for posting .. I hope we're not supposed to take the producer guy seriously, otherwise he's a massive tool.
Regardless, this band had tremendous energy, talent, songs, and could perform. They combined the best of Badfinger and any number of other British bands.
Actually, they were influenced by an earlier generation of rockers including especially the Beatles, the Who, the Beach Boys and the Small Faces.
Like both the Beatles and Raspberries. Raspberries were pop rockers. Perhaps the Beatles were more of a pop band.
He's Jimmy Ienner....the guy that produced the Raspberries' stuff. I'm pretty sure that he's taking the piss out of the band as a joke.
Jimmy Ienner was an amazing producer....however he missed the boat once. A boat by the name of Madonna.
Your dad is extremely talented.
OH MAN! We don't get to see Shelly Yakus get pied! lol
BMP
Now you know why they had Lester bangs in Almost Famous listening to Go All the Way, he loved to trash groups like the Raspberries...I don't agree with him they were.a great band.
I would like to see Eric smile more
Why's that Carol?
is he for real? no one can be that cheesey. dude is disgusting. incredible.
jimmy...what an ego...
THE RASPBERRIES WERE A BEATLESQUE BAND, THEIR NAME SHOULD'VE BEEN 'THE BERRYBEATLES'.
Ugh. Eric's writing is brilliant but this over compressed mix is enraging because I love the songs. No matter what version you find, this whole album is mixed horribly.
