Australia 7 day: Downpours track eastwards, more rain relief
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 сер 2024
- Dry areas are in for more wet weather over the next 7 days as high pressure slowly leaves the south. The high is enormous and will take a number of days to move towards NZ, but should be east of Aussie by mid-next week, allowing for these hit and miss downpours to track eastwards from SA to VIC/NSW and TAS. Southern Qld is only brushed by it.
WA and eastern Australia have plenty of showers and patchy rain.
Sorry NT - not much to talk about up your way this week! Enjoy the drier warmth!
Our Flight Sim place of the day is near Alice Springs, but not in the township itself. - Розваги
Phil, I've been watching your show for a couple of months now and without doubt you provide a comprehensive and well presented forecast. Your use of maps and shading (rain) is excellent and caveats ie:'hit and miss' for rain are always on point. Keep doing what you're doing! The best Australian forecast going around. I also love to see how the weather here affects you guys in NZ. Excellent stuff.
I been watching since cyclone Jasper I’m from Mackay Queensland. Best weatherman I’d say quick and bloody well accurate
Thankyou Phil; I enjoy listening to your very extensive weather reports.
Phil, you are the best forecaster hands down! Love your work!!! Love your passion!!
Need i say it??? Great work phil and the gang. Best weather forecast ever. This is how it should be done. Every other media outlet take a look and learn how the professionals do it. Keep up the great work❤👍😊
That's very kind, thank you :) Phil.
Just Awesome Reporting Phil. Thanks Heaps.
Churr Churr my brother, you always give the best forecasts.
The bar has risen again Phil your are head & shoulder's above any other meteorological analysis presenter. Kia Ora ya LEGEND
That is super kind of you to say, thank you!
The high pressure systems look like they are staying stronger even in winter blocking the rain in WA
Thanks Phil, the last image near Alice looks like stirations from massive overland water movement, Randall Carlson would love it.
Thanks for that - see this a lot in the mountains and desserts of south-western USA (California, Arizona, Utah etc). Cheers!
Thanks Phil. From Townsville, Australia
Great reporting. First time I have ever understood the weather patterns.
Thank you very much :) I appreciate that.
Thank you, Phil!
Freezing.
Another frost.
And foggy.
Just north of Melbourne.
Not to mention Liaweenee on the Central Plateau of Tasmania got down to near -14c Wednesday morning. This is the best weather forecasting service ever.
Two days breaking records!
Thank you Phillip, you are the best!
Thanks heaps for that :) Cheers, Phil
Such a comprehensive forecast. Keep up the good work Phil!
Let’s hope the hit and miss rain gods will hit us these coming days. Anything will be welcome in this state 😂. Thank you so much guys. You are the ones we rely on😆😆🎉🎉
Thanks for the great forecast for Australia Phil you do a great job thanks
Super forecast WWteam! You guys are the best! Watching from Mallanganee. 😉💚
An excellent service, A USER FRIENDLY resource. I’m fearful of our politicians defunding BOM, this service IS A GREAT support to our community. If we don’t support BOM, we’ll lose it! You’re the best. Cheers 🍻
Hi Ronald, thanks very much - but FYI, we have nothing at all to do with BoM. We're a small privately owned company and we use almost no data from them at this stage. Cheers, Phil D :)
Your kidding aren't you. BOM is a waste of time. These forecasts on Weather Watch are far more accurate.
I'm not saying it's cold in Geelong...but I had some pies delivered this morning and I'll need to put them in the freezer to heat 'em up. 😵💫
Haven't lost your 'Dad Joke' sense of humour.😁
Haha!! :)
Realy well presented. U earned a subscribe.
Many thanks!!
cheers Phil and team , we appreciate all your effort and the best weather channel out.
Very kind, thank you so much for that.
You’re the best Phil ❤🇦🇺
Fabulous report as always Phil.
Stellar job as always Phil ❤🇦🇺
Thankyou. Love your reporting 🤗
Great rainfall patterns for some inland areas - good news - but here in Sydney we are sick of it ... mould ... soggy washing ... the cat won't go outside ...
Send some of your rain our way, mate, Northern Country, Victoria. It's past Midwinter's Day and there's only 2 feet of water in the dam...
Your cat shouldn’t be outside anyway they’re a menace to all things native
@@audi3318 Thanks for the ecological reminder ... actually, it would be even better if we humans didn't go outside either.
Good review
Kiora Phillip, your never wrong. Got the cold sth westerly this week. Hit n miss is story of my life 😅 and the weather.
Alice Springs "the once great artesian basin 70 yrs back hot water swimming pools.
Irrigators.
Can only put so many holes in a hose 😢
Top show bro.
Stay warm over that ditch
Shalom
Thanks very much :)

Thank you Phil.
Great video Philip Duncan
Much appreciated kind sir. Kia ora
Waratah Tas, a beautiful place.
Hope to visit it some day! :)
Thank you !
Hi Phil, the temp in Liawenee Tasmania has gotten down to -13 and -14 degrees with some of their lakes freezing over. Might be worth an early morning flyover. Alan
Jeez you're giving NZ's Southern Alps a run for their money with that!
When will the northern Rivers not rain, need to gurney to get rid of the slime, sick of falling over on my paths, so over the cold and wet😢, hopefully at the end of next week some sunshine after weeks of rain, literally enough is enough
0nly expecting 5 mm in next 7 days here in Sebastopol Victoria
I grew up in the Central West NSW. (Bathurst)
12 deg at this time of the year is warm compared to when I lived in the district.
Appreciate the correction :)
Mount Gambier looks like it’s in a desert.
Record lows in Tas last night. Liawenee got down to -12.5⁰!
Always freezing there
@@umbro12 did you miss the bit where I said "record low"?
No, it's not always freezing here. The coldest night I'd spent in Australia was in northern NSW. Much of mainland Australia is far colder at night during winter months, especially inland.
Tasmania is an island, our usual climate is temperate maritime.
@@JaneNewAuthor always records there,
Raining in Sydney for 6 weeks straight
Cheers Phili
Awesome channel
Thanks heaps :)
Liaweenee in Tasmania central highlands scored minus 12 on Tuesday night. An inch or so of surface ice on central highland lakes confused the bird life too. Mt Wellington is walking distance from Hobart CBD (a decent tramping distance maybe!) so that figure can be significant too.
Got down to -13.5º overnight last night as well. 2nd coldest night on record for all of Tassie
Thank you David - meant to quote you the other day but forgot to!
@@WeatherWatchTV Hi Phillip, Just to add to your expectation last Thursday Sheffield in Tasmania scored a pressure reading of 1044 kPa being only 1 shy of your quote for the high of the high pressure system south of the mainland.
@@davidwright5739 Thanks David! Good to know. We mostly rely on US maps (GFS model) in our videos, if that's any help. They tend to be great for general forecasts... haven't yet had enough storms to work out the accuracy of BoM. We use GFS in NZ, Australia and globally to give a consistent forecast.
You should fly over Wilpena Pound. Cheers
Oh thanks for the suggestion!
Snow. I want Snow 🌨️😂 thank you
Bit like a horse race, hard to pick. We have sun in Brissy this afternoon
Yes, very much so!
Thanks
Thank you for the extra support, it's really appreciated by us and kind of you! :)
Wish the rain would stop
Thanks again Phil and Team! Your weather presentations are so easy to follow and the maps and visuals make it even clearer. I really enjoy being able to see the "big picture" how the weather flows from region to region. Your presentation style is top notch, friendly and entertaining but still packing in a whole lot of technical information as well! 🌞🌞🌦🌩🌈🌡
Thanks very much - the more you explain how the big picture works, the more your local forecast makes sense (and why sometimes the local forecast doesn't pan out). Cheers! Phil :)
The ground is very wet in the Parkes area
Thanks for that - good to know
Hi David Already 29c on Cape York
It's Phil. Lol who's David?
Given the analogy, I'm guessing you're into the truck simulator as well ? :)
LOL no but I have seen it! Seems kinda cool, but I like the freedom of FlightSim :)
I forgot sorry, from Torrington NSW 2371
That's the biggest high I've seen for sum time
Next update 11/7/24
❤
east coastal fringe is so wet mud mud mud
Is it time to put the wind resistant hats away and get out the snow resistant ski equipment?
Any ideas when this current wet weather will end on the east coast
Some improvements this week - but depends where you are. Certainly starts off wet in many eastern areas.
Must be school holidays starting
😁👋
Sorry David my bad
Sorry Phil it was mate lol sent me a txt
That's what happens when you get old
Phil, you do a great job but when are you do an Australia only forecast don't welcome the Maori's, you better off saying 'gooday Mate"!
There are 600K New Zealanders living in Australia - many more than the population of your capital Canberra.
Also, I say Kia Ora and have done since I was a child.
@@RobertAllan-f6s
Oof what a hot take.
Lil racist there bro
Australia pays 1.3 billion a yr for bom and they couldn’t forecast the sun coming up tomorrow thanks mate great job
Thank you heaps :) Crazy money.
This platform makes the BOM look like a joke.More comprehensive and more accurate
We use a TV Panasonic gave us, an iphone, and we buy good data. Government forecasters are going the same way as most media outlets.
