That was a great video, there are so many fear mongers out there. I think they’re just trying to sell something else. My dog has been on Farmina for the past six months after being on a different food and it’s really is like night and day her energy levels and overall health. The nutrients are great.
So I’ll be honest I’m not familiar with these Vets. But I have a question do they refute the science altogether? I get it they don’t like kibble and they promote fresh/raw. But the science is the science. Especially when you’re talking about long term studies and feeding trials for the various diseases, chronic conditions, etc. It’s clearly proven.
@@PetFoodPuzzleGuy It’s okay Glenn. I got used to the tunes! It’s such an interesting topic as I get it they’re not a fan of kibble or ultra processed foods as they like to call it. But the science is the science. Vets are busy they trust the experts!
My cat had a horrible bout with vomiting and diarrhea. My vet gave her Hills dry Gastrointestinal (prescription) food and Hills Healthy treats (prescription). I bought her on my own Hills Sensitive Skim and Stomach canned. She doing much better…she 7 years old.
Great video! I was browsing Walmart yesterday and saw that Dr. Pol has his own dog food now. It would be interesting to see how that stacks up, but my guess is it would be like all the others and the nutrient levels are not there.
Can you talk about Science Diet ID low fat (stew) and dry? They recently changed the formula, and my furs (dogs) won't touch it anymore, so, we went onto Just Food For Dogs and Hill's Science Diet WD dry. (they didn't change that formula.) They added Biome to most of their diets. How does these foods change genes? Thanks!
So I don’t feed my cats fresh food. But they get 90% wet canned food and 10% dry. My question to these vets is how is fresh food complete? Everyone who feeds a raw diet adds a “completer”. A popular one I see often for cats is EZ Complete. How is this balanced? I’d just like to know?
I just took on 2 kittens from birth for the first time in 10 years... They're now at the 6-7 month mark. My Vet asks about diet, fecal, urine, vomit, hair balls, coughing, sneezing, eye health, energy levels, coat health.... Literally anything that nutrition level could show any symptoms of problems with on every visit! My babies blood tests show perfectly healthy, all organ functions are top notch! I feed them kibble 6 times a day and finish with wet food for dinner. The important part is I review dry matter on everything they eat and keep the foods and volume within APCO. Tell me it doesn't work, my results say otherwise, and I've been raising rescues for over 40 years! 🤔😉
@@PetFoodPuzzleGuy we don't need to reinvent the wheel! I love all the overwhelming access to information from the internet, but most of the findings still apply. The only real dramatic change I've found is that declawing cats is barbaric, and in our day it was common place. Everything else is just building on past knowledge/research when it comes to felines and doing more, but not reversing previous practices. Dogs aren't that different either. Kinda want to look into rabbits etc. because it's been a few years, but I think I'll find the same pattern. The results have been speaking for a very long time. I don't expect a major change.
Epigenetics has been around for quite a long time. You seem to just be a salesman for Hill's Science diet. My friends son had to have a heart transplant at 13 because he had a genetic heart defect. However he is the first and only one to have this genetic heart defeat in their family. No one else in the family have carries the gene but him and he could pass it on to his children. That is the essence of epigenetics. Environment can change our genes or their expression.
@@RealityandCommonSense hmmm, did I say they are using nutrigenomics in humans and Obama was funding that back then? Or did I edit that out? So I’m just a salesman for Hills? So does that make these diets not exist and not help thousands of animals? I guess I’m missing your point.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the music is very distracting.

It's a perfectly fine addition, but needs to be "downregulated" a bit as it seems to conflict with the his voice at the current music audio level

In Canada, we actually have a Vet shortage. I wish we had privately funded Vet Schools then we would not have a problem.
