Bro!!! Thank you so much! This $50 part fixed what the dealership was saying was vacuum system $1500 or the turbos $3400. It’s part of the vacuum system so Ford is replacing the pump and this control valve and saying all good. $50 fix! My truck is running like a champ again at 220k miles. Thanks for sharing the knowledge bro!
I had the P1016 code and checked lines for vacuum leak. After not detecting anything, i replaced the wastegate (EGR) solenoid and that fixed my problem with the CEL and loss of power. There was one clip on the solenoid called a Steep Ear Clip that is stainless steel and had to cut it. Reattached the vacuum line to the new sensor with a zip tie for now. Thanks for the video!
FYI to everyone: Also check the blowoff valve/solenoid. It's located on the intercooler. The blowoff valve/solenoid has an orange diaphragm that will tear over time also causing low/under boost DTC P0299. The electrical component of the blowoff valve/solenoid might be working properly (not causing a DTC) but the failed diaphragm will cause DTC P0299 while not showing any other codes causing a lot of headaches. So, if DTC is P0299 shows, and no other codes are present definitely remove and assess the blowoff valve/solenoid. Thats all I got. Hope this helps.
Mine is showing the same code. Several shops told me they would not mess with the turbo and that my only solution is to take to the dealership. I'm glad I watched this video first. I'm going to give it a shot and I pray it solves my problem.
I got the code p1016 which is Watergate control pressure higher than expected and it says to replace turbocharger wastegate solenoid,, I believe it's the same part as yours only difference is that my pressure is higher my question to you is do you think I can still drive it like this ?
@@george5697 From my local ford dealer. It helps if you give them the part number off the old/failed part. Ps Im sure you can also find online. I highly recommend using the part number to replace it because it’s vehicle specific. Otherwise you can run into problems.
@@CarFan312 sorry to bother you again man, I purchased a new solenoid I installed it and had the light reset and I turned it on drove it for maybe one block the light came back on with the same code, what would you do if you were in my shoes?
