Respectfully, Tiff’s time apart from BTS may be the source of some confusion: ‘musical innovation’ is a hallmark of BTS for sure, but it is a separate concern from the type of aesthetic ideals required for domination in mainstream American pop. She’s also confused about what “BTS” is doing if she thinks one solo album by JK represents “BTS.” She should get back in touch with what they’ve been doing on their own and as a group in all the years since she stopped listening to them. They’re still innovative, but they’ve decided to prove that they’re as good as anybody now and that any excuses to keep them out of western charts, awards, and other fabricated measures of “quality” were purely based on stereotypes and racism.
i need this ready to copy paste every time a person comes with “bts is westernized now” “i miss old bts” bc it’s getting concerning the amount of people who just say anything without digging into what bts has done.

Besides the choreographers, Jungkook did many changes in the choreo during the practices. There are videos of this. I confess I got a little bit sad that you just noticed and paid attention to the backup dancers and not Jungkook, who will dance AND sing this song live. I know Brian, Ian and the others are great, but what about Jungkook?

My thoughts exactly, how do you do a reaction by mostly ignoring the artist and center of the choreo himself? We get wanting to give love to the dance crew, they are awesome, but come on now... who do you think we're watching these for?? Jungkook, that's who.

I found it difficult to know which "he" DI was referring to when talking about all the dancers and perhaps even JK himself. It would be helpful if he could use some sort of onscreen pointer when paused to comment.
I've heard of "Brian and Ian" from other STANDING NEXT TO YOU comments, but don't recognize them, and it would have been nice for them to be pointed out since so much was said about them.

Respectfully, Tiff went into this with a hater mentality like she got a chip on her shoulder and really I hope she sorts through whatever is plaguing her with the hateritis. “It’s giving something I’ve already heard before. It’s like Bruno Mars and those same types of chords.” Yeah, Tiff, that’s called a genre. Did you expect them to come up with an entirely new genre of music? I need these negative Nancy’s to BOUNCE. The song is a masterpiece and she knows it.
Jungkooks dancing hits hard
Yeah it would’ve been sick if they watched him actually. They were talking about the backup dancers/artists the whole time and like I get it…but that should’ve been another video. This was JK’s song and JK’s decision to have these dancers with him so I really wish they would’ve made him their priority focal point in this reaction since he killed it. And it’s his song. But they didn’t.
Keoni Madrid is the choreographer and there is an info that Shay Latukolan also contributed.
The dancers are David Pornel, Nick Joseph, Vinh Nguyen, Ian Eastwood, and Brian Puspos but also there is Dom Lashawn whos is sometimes mistakenly identified as Nick.
I do believe that Nick is the one with braids and Dom is the one in clean cut😊💜
Exactly. Nick is in the mv and the dance mv, but this practice, the TSX, Jimmy Fallon, and Usher is Dom. 😘💜

I really hope they are all given the proper credit. Many notice Dom in the performances yet they mistakenly name him as Nick. 😊💜
If I remember correctly, snap back is Nick Joseph. He did the choreo for BTS' 3J dance for the Megan thee Stallion part in Butter. He has also worked with BTS' little brothers TXT. Big Hit tends to go back to people who they find trustworthy which is why you see Brian and Nick in this. Brian has choreoed a few pieces for BTS like Jimin's Serendipity and their song Butterfly.
Nick is not in the video he has the dreads, the guy in this one is Dom Lashawn he has worked with JK before on Seven.
Believe that is Dom Lashawn. Nick have braids and a little bit bulky(sorry I don't know how to define the body build)

Yep he’s got a fire mv, fire performance video, great live performances. He’s done it all right before leaving for military. And the Usher remix came out right before leaving and the remix video dropped when he left. 😢 JK with the great parting gift. You have to watch them ALL (pretty please) 🔥
This song came out and it was already the best to me, it has that retro funk, MJ homage, straight MJ tribute in the performance video, love it all. Love MJ. And JK did an amazing job pulling off that style.

Literally no. They didn’t and that’s why I’m irritated. I might understand if he wasn’t a STAR and absolutely killing the choreo in his own right but like they fully ignored him. And Tiff immediately with the “it’s not giving anything new. It’s like Bruno mars.” Like yeah, Tiffany, that’s called a genre. What did she expect? For JK/the producers to invent an entirely new genre of music? She’s giving hater.

Exactly.They totally ignored the artist who is performing here and focused on the back up dancers. I love dancing and I know they are great, but this is a Jungkook song and his performance. The backup dancers are here to enhance the song and the artist, not themselves. As dancers, the reactors should know that.
This is an homage to MJ and it is retro funk. This is 70's and 80's which I was alive for. The dancers go by the name The Golden Boys.
So, for this practice, it's Brian, Ian, Jake Kodish, Jake Brandoff, Dom Lashawn(the one doing killer moves withbhis hat), and Devin Pornel. This is the crew that did the lives at Jimmy Fallon and TSX. So your comment about the camera was spot on.

This is Jungkook’s solo and his aim was different from BTS’ group’s aim. He was going for “World Pop Star” not K-pop star.
JK does something called "performance videos", like a cross between an mv and a dance practise. Love to see the reaction to those for his latest singles.
Also maybe check the choreo for Closer to you (seen in Audacity live) and Please don't change (seen in golden live).
JK also got some interesting sketch/behind the scenes videos of seven and 3d where you see some of the choreography perfected/modified.
I loved Tiffany, but I see a problem in the reaction format: as a musician, you would love to either listen to it or pause at different times than as a choreographer, one being aurally inclined the other more visually. So when you pause, she might have nothing to say. Not sure if you could try to maybe watch it once all through. And then you both take turns pausing and talking about what you want to talk about? Just an idea.

I am not sure if you know that all 7 are now doing their mandatory military service. JungKook, Jimin, V and RM entered during the 2nd week if December. So, no world tour. JK did do.a show at a stadium in Seoul before he left but he had a Korean dance troupe on stage with him. This group of dancers did perform with him on Times Square and several MVs connected to the Golden album.
Prior to enlistment, the members said the pre recorded some gifts that will be released over the next months.
Did you see jk tear off his necklace when it got caught on his ear? Smooth and effortless. 😊

We wish there was going to be a tour. If so, it will be two years or more. Less than 1.5 months after he released his debut album, Jung Kook started his military service. All BTS members are now in the military.

As far as copy write, I have seen others say it is important to use the official videos from Hybe or Bangtantv and make sure you start from the very beginning. Do not edit out the Big Hit entry logo.

weird counting in 4s when dancing is usually 8-counts.
I was gonna say the same. For example, in a class or audition you'll be instructed on how many counts of 8 they'll be teaching. Unless the music is in 3/4 or 6/8 time signature where the phrasing would be done in 3s or 6s.
I’ve been binging your reactions all day 🙏 but respectfully, please pay attention to the actual person we’re watching these for. I understand that you want to give credits to the other dancers, which is 100% acceptable and understandable. But it feels like you’re forgetting that bts ARE ALSO dancers. They’re not just singers and faces and I really hope you give them the same love you give the dancers. You’re doing great though 🫶🏼

Glad you are back and have time to share your insight. I love this dance practice. There's a challenge for the break, and while that part is amazing, I find the musicality of the rest of the choreography to be so much more interesting. I guess I just like my dance practice to tell a story.

My favorite realization was from that video explaining how each member's solo career shows what they're going for goals-wise and how JK is the one going for American Hot 100 which explains why it is so familiar

I knew she had taste as soon as she said HYYH pt 2 cause that was an ALBUMMMM, gave us so many classic BTS hits. BTS is actually preparing to do a 10th anniversary album for the HYYH series next year (2025) so tell her to tap in when the time comes. I feel a production renaissance coming for BTS, similar to how experimental HYYH pt 2 was

Not related to the video but I have a recommendation. You should react to Street Man fighter and Street women fighter. It’s a Korean dance survival show with different dance crews, I think you’d enjoy watching the clips or videos from the shows!!!

Thank you, I enjoyed your reaction very much. I love watching a performer sing and dance expecially with a team. I also like learning the technical side whether is is from a vocal coach or Dancer/Choreographer. I always learn something. I just hope I don't start counting to each dance song!

I have been listening to BTS since debut since I was already immerse in all things Korean by then (since 2002), and indeed hyyh pt 2 with Run was the one album that said "stay". I did listen to their comebacks but I didn't consume their other content before that (YT vlogs and Bangtan Bombs, Rookie King, AHL...), short thereafter they started doing Run BTS. The rest is history.

all BTS members are now in the military. 2025 will see them return as a group. Jin gets out in 6 months. JK released his solo album 'Golden' and did a few performances before he join jump with Jimin, RM and V. they have promised release some recorded material for the 18 to 24 months they are away 💜
