I might be wrong and if so please correct me. I have some doubts
1. Initial extra cost over it's petrol / diesel variant.
2. Charging and associated extra costs. Hamare Gurgaon mei Rs. 100 per kilo watt add hokar aata hai bill mei. Consumed units alag. Agar 7.5 kw ka charger hai to kya minimum Rs.750 add ho jayega monthly bill mei.
3. Limited mobility.
4. Depreciation / resale value as compared to other variants. Petrol diesel vehicles to kabhi bhi bech do. EV ki battery degrade hogi aur mileage reduce hogi kuch saal baad. Next buyer might be hesitant to pay that kind of money for a second hand car. Abhi kya situation hai EV ki second hand market mei.
These things need to be clarified before investing money. Every potential buyer should double check. Thode se paise bachane k chakkar mei jyada nuksan na ho jaye. I will appreciate if you take your time and let us know the pros vs cons. Other buyers are very much likely to benefit from your findings.
Ev tabhi lo jb aapki running daily ki 70-80+ km ho. Otherwise wait till it gets more affordable.
Agr reality mai baat karu to EV sirf aur sirf personal lambaa time Tak rakhne wali car hai, resale yeh value nahi deiga it's illogical to buy used EV 🤣. 2nd India mai EV only for city usage and long routes pe planned way mai nikalna padega. Personal garage with charging facility taab Jaa k hogi peace of mind, bhaisab petrol gadi leke zyada khush hu mai 😅🙏

EV's should start giving a feature to check battery health. This will help regarding point no. 4.

4-5 saal baad jab technology aur infrastructure better ho jayega tab socha jaye EVs ke baare mein.
Waise bhi 50-60% (aur isse zyada bhi) log new cars ko 5-7 years chala ke bech dete hain.
To bas kuchh saal aur wait kar len.
Raha sawal environment conservation ka....to India mein coal powered electricity ki wajah kahin zyada pollution EV chalane mein hota hai as compared to Petrol cars (which actually have improved vastly on emissions, thanks to India's strict emission norms such as BS VI Phase 2)

(Used EVs to bohot kam mein bikengi kyun 70-80% cost to battery pack ki hi hoti hai....jiski life bohot kam bachegi for 2nd owner)
Aur aaj-kal ki normal NA (non-turbo) Petrol cars city mein 14-15kmpl fuel economy de deti hain. (1.2L to 1.5L NA engines) aur highway cruising pe 20+kmpl.
Haan agar turbo Petrol engines se compare karenge to anxiety hogi hi. 😅
Turbo petrol engines (e.g. 1.0L TSI Taigun) city traffic mein 8-9kmpl ya aur kam bhi dete hain. Aur enthusiastically chalane pe bhi 11-12kmpl bhi aa jata hai.
Highway cruising mein Turbo engines maybe 15-17kmpl se upar de den but same conditions mein NA engine 20+kmpl nikaal ke de dete hain.

मेरे पास भी टाटा टियागो ev है इसके डैश बोर्ड में खड़ खड़ कि आवाज़ बहुत आती है । में इसे तीन महीने में 8500 किलोमीटर चला चुका हूं । D मोड में 130 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटा कि रफ्तार से चलाया है ।

EVs still are for pure city use. If you want it as a primary car, u have to spend 30-40 lakh. And still have to plan road trips as per charging stations. What's the point in that?
If you want practicality and not so much features buy Citroën EC3 it gives you 250+km range because I work in citroën and our demo Vehicle runs easily 250+ and max we had achieved 293km or driving range. It comes with prismatic cell technology and its bigger bold

I am also using the same car. Since last 2 months the experience is very bad.
1. Service is very poor.
2. Car quality is not upto mark. Leke pastaoge.
3. Spare parts availability issue. Agar kuchh problem hua min 10 to 15 days waiting time to repair.
4. If you are a BP patient then don't buy Tata cars. Your BP will be high

This makes only sense if running is minimum 70-80 kms on a daily basis with ownership and driving over the next 7-8 years. Else the TCO which includes higher insurance charges, initial car cost, maintenance etc. will always be greater. Ideal is a compact EV may be 2 seater with boot space, 100-150 kms range and price point sub 5 lakhs.
Most of the cars give avg of 10-12km in city. petrol is average 96₹ = 8₹ per km if you run your car even 1000km in month which 80% people do then also it would cost 8000 per month in petrol while in ev it would cost 800-1000₹(depending on electricity prices) per month. which is saving of 7000 per month or 84000 per year. cost difference between tiago ev mr and tiago petrol amt XT version is mere 2lacs which means you can recover your cost in 2.5yrs considering you drive in city mostly else you 'll need ev lr version then in 4yrs you gonna recover the cost.
Best part is EV are more comfortable, best pickup, best version of automatic, power mode for some fun, low noise inside the cabin which you can only get in 20lac+ cars.
Also it can act as night ac in case of long powercut. for example your area is facing long night power cut in summer time with ev you can go to nearest charging station, fast charge it and switch on the ac inside full night in 50-100₹.
@@sociallity13 Personal Experience Ignis gives 18.5 kms in city. However not economical for a daily commute as my run is minimum 80-100 kms at times. Also if I consider EV as cheaper daily cost option then the initial cost, higher insurance, charger availability for longer runs/outstation becomes a challenge-which needs more calculated planning. For most use cases a vehicles which ticks all boxes in terms of ease of parking, compactness, maneuvering, daily economical running, automatic transmission and safety is what I am looking for. EV atleast 3 years away for me unless something ground breaking happens.

@@typicallyvirgo You will need to change Batteries after 9-10 years of usage. Car Batteries usually will *START* degradation after 1500-2000 cycles of charging. Considering average range of 200 km with 1500 cycles, Battery Degradation will start after 3 Lakh theoretically. If we take practical approach considering weather condition, driving styles, Then you can expect Battery degradation after 2-2.5 Lakh km. It totally depends on user. Maybe some can complete 2 Lakh within 5 year. Maybe some will sell the car before it completes 2 Lakh km. Maybe some will complete in 10 Year.
Battery Degradation theoretically gives the logarithmic graph. So in the starting, You will expect only slight decrease in range. With time, It will increase.
I am pretty sure by that time not only batteries will become cheaper with much better supporting infra, Scientist would have found a way to deal with Battery degradation.
Tiago gives 8 year or 160000km battery waranty. So no need to replace battery

Ravi vai ek sawal hai.. mera i20 active petrol hai. Mileage to apko pata hai bohot kam hai.. Lekin mujhe usse kam mil rhaa hai approx 9.75/ltr milraha hai.. ab plan kar rha ki CNG fit kara lu kya decision sahi ya kya karu.

This is a very valid point that in this busy day and age we probably get one or two chances for long road trips, excluding EV's just for that reason should not be the case

If a person is driving 100 km daily that is around 2 lac km in 5 to 6 years then he may need to change the battery thats true but if your daily driving is normal 30 - 50 km daily then your battery could last 10 to 12 years easily.. But if you calculate for those 2 lac kms you have to fill in about 14 lacs worth of fuel but for charging it you will spend 2 lac rupees only in 5 to 6 years now that's the difference that 12 lacs is your saving. Now you can calculate extra cost of EV over petrol car & interest you would pay on loan minus from 12 lacs is your net saving in 5 to 6 years. After that only cost is the battery otherwise it will be like free. Service cost is also very very low. So only but Tiago EV if your driving is around 100-150 km daily in city & ocassionly on highways where it gives 200 - 250 km range btw i own Tiago EV top model XZ plus Tech Lux & driving since last 3 months..😊

@ddsravi Please include following points even before driving the other ev’s in your consideration:
1. An ev cost generally 1.5 times than the petrol version. Most people will pay the difference amount along with the interest component.
2. Generally a loan tenure is 5/7 years (7 in case of nationalised bank) but soon after completing the loan you need to spend a hefty amount for battery change after 8 years(may be another loan for some people)
3. a)Will you feel comfortable charging your vehicle in remote locations at odd hours.
b) will it be safe to charge in remote locations with family.
c) will it be safe to charge the vehicle in extreme weather conditions like rains, cold or windstorm when everyone wants to run for their destination.
4. Battery will degrade with time like your mobile phone , for example the car which is running after a full charge for 200 kms will run just 180 after 2 years and the warranty can’t do anything with it.
5. The running cost of the car is shown as per the domestic rates electricity but in reality the charging stations rates are like twice the domestic rates.
6. Is it a smart decision to spend more amount , take more risk more stress .

I have altroz, but if fuel efficiency is your concern, then don't go for it. But if you want confident riding and stability, go for it without any doubt.
